Within 24 hours of calling, Cumberland sent someone out to take a look at my HVAC, which had trouble sending air into my home. Turns out this was because a possum had crawled and died in the motor... DJ, the brave soul, put his gloves and mask on and got it right out. Disposed of it and deep cleaned every last part of the unit that was affected, reassembled them, and now I have working air again. RIP to mama possum, but good riddance - and thanks DJ!

Being a relatively new homeowner in the area, I was was reluctant to commit to an HVAC service without researching ratings and recommendations first. Cumberland Cooling had kept popping up as a quality operation along with a few others. So when on a Friday morning I wake up to find my air conditioning system running wide open but my house a balmy 82 degrees inside I decided no was the time to put that research to use. I called two other places and was told they only had appointments around mid day or I'd have to wait till Monday. Unable to take off work I gave Cumberland a call fully expecting to have to swelter through a weekend. The extremely pleasant representative was happy however, to fit me in for an appointment at 4:30 that very afternoon giving me time to get home. Fast forward though a busy day of work and shortly after I get home at 4:30 John from Cumberland arrives and quickly diagnosed the problem; some critter had chewed through our wires leading to the outside unit. We tracked the wire down and he ran new ones through our basement dungeon/crawlspace/openpitmine even taking the time to make it look neat and keep it out of the way. Within an hour my unwanted weekend sweat lodge retreat was well on its way back to cooling down to civilized temperatures. Without prompting he also took the time to inspect the rest of my system, give the outside unit a quick once over and all for an extremely reasonable fee (they take cash, check, or credit card)
I could note have been more pleased with the outcome of this day. I walked away with a cool house, some new knowledge, and enough heft left in my wallet to enjoy my Friday evening.
