Constraction reviews in Amarillo, Texas

I want to give a special thanks to Michael for working with us and developing a plan to fix the problems . After my last post he came out twice to talk with us and then came out to help fix the issues. Michael and the crew worked hard to get everything completed. I do not have pictures at this time.

A couple years ago they came out to level our home. We needed one room done but they said the whole house would need to be done. We had them come back out and redo it because they just used whatever was under the house (old wood pieces, etc) and the floor in other rooms were not level.

I guess the guys were upset about redoing it. It is worse all over the house, especially in different areas where my floor sticks up and is bumpy, especially in our room and bathroom. Every time I walk across my floors barefoot, I want to cry, and sometimes I do because of how bad it is. I was afraid to call Childers Brothers back for a third time.

$15,000 later our floor is so bad we will have to have the house redone again (after I pay off the first loan).

Jon came back 6 months after the original work, for a second inspection, and verified that the changes have been stable. It was a pleasure to visit with Jon about the soil conditions and causes of the slab issue and how to prevent it. He didn't make me feel stupid for not calling Childers sooner. He will be back in 6 months to check again on the progress.

Jon was amazing and very informative. He did a full assessment on our house and told us that no work needed to be done. We love an honest business that doesn’t just try to take your money and would recommend to anybody.

It was great to work with John, he came out and walked us through the best option and broke it down on what needed to be fixed. After that we were told it would be around 4-5 weeks but within 1-2 weeks they were out and ready to fix it which was amazing! Everything we were promised had been followed through with and everything came out great and we feel/see immediate improvement. A week later John came by and asked how everything went and the overall experience. Customer service was amazing and I would just overall recommend this company and talking with John about any concerns with your foundation he was great!! Very honest and friendly people!

Great job remodeling our kitchen. Fred and his crew are honest and hardworking men. They went above and beyond and met all of request and exceeded our expectations. When it comes time to remodel our bathrooms we will definitely be using them again!

This company is awful. 4 months after when I was told everything would be done, they got the CO inspection passed and left with a lot of work still to be done.
This is how they left the job.
They didn't do full framing like they should have; drywall work is awful. I have exam rooms and they left a hole between 2 of the rooms. Nobody needs to follow HIPPA laws, right? I had to frame and drywall that myself. Paint is awful. Trim has just about everything wrong that can be. They took shortcuts instead of fixing things right.
Electrical switches aren't where they are supposed to be.
Outlets still don't work, lights in 7 rooms don't work right.
There is a sink laying in my bathroom that they just didn't install.
They charged for new countertops but reused 80% of the old ones.
Floor is done wrong, baseboards in every room are installed wrong.
I asked for washer and dryer hookups in the utility room. They didn't put in a dryer vent.
Asked for cabinets everywhere a counter top was supposed to be. We were "waiting on cabinets" for 3 months. They gave me 2 4-foot cabinets that are also wrong and they just left them without drawers or doors. They are just open shells.
They stole doors from all the other previous cabinets that were actually in here already. They stole a commercial faucet and sprayer I bought.
Everywhere that there are drywall mistakes he says that is texture. There will be a 4 square foot area of good wall then a drywall issue, "but that’s texture."
This company is supposed to be ethical. That's a joke. They are the farthest from ethical you can get. They are shady and cheap.
I asked Fred Berry if he was proud of the work (the day before they upped and left without finishing) and he said he would be when they were done. So, I guess this is the kind of work he is proud of.
If you want your project done, on time, done correctly, or done at a fair price don't use Fred Berry construction because you'll get none of the 3.

Fred Berry is a man of Integrity .He is passionate about his work and it shows in the quality produced. I would use Fred Berry Construction time and time again!

I have known Fred Berry for as long as I can remember. but, 6 years ago, we had a massive storm hit our house and had tens of thousands of dollars in damage. Fred came in with his crew and oversaw all of the repairs and reconstruction. It all came out BEAUTIFULLY. Fred is a Christian man with the highest standards. Fred Berry Construction built us the quintessential solution for our new construction needs in Amarillo Texas. From start to finish Fred was present to insure our custom requirements were addressed and provided for. As the General Contractor, he hired and supervised every sub-contractor. I too was able to meet and greet the owners of each sub contractor company to help insure even the smallest of changes were implemented. Fred always answered texts and met with me, as needed, at the beginning of each new day during construction. I could not be happier with the final product and Always defer to Fred at the beginning of every subsequent modification to our barn.
We did not initially ask Fred to build us a loft but realized only later the value of maximizing space by going vertical. Again!…Fred to the rescue. He sent his ‘guys’ and within days our problems were solved.
