Rick Neely with Neely Electrical Services is one of those rare people you keep for life once you find him. I’ve personally worked with Rick for over 15 years, and my bosses have trusted him for more than 30—there’s a reason for that kind of longevity.
He has an ability to solve problems that other electricians simply can’t. Time and again, we’ve brought him in after others hit a wall, and he finds a way to make things work—safely, thoughtfully, and correctly. Beyond his technical skill, he is incredibly dependable, easy to work with, and someone I trust completely to do the right thing.
One example really stands out: our complex had contracted with another company to install EV charging stations, but the project stalled when the city wouldn’t issue permits due to our outdated electrical meters. It could have easily died there. Rick stepped in, identified a creative workaround that satisfied the city’s requirements, and then personally helped navigate what turned into over a year of back-and-forth to get everything approved. His relationships, persistence, and deep understanding of how things actually get done in Austin made all the difference.
He’s “old school Austin” in the best possible way—knowledgeable, connected, honest, and committed to seeing a project through.

Rick with Neely Electric was straightforward and honest the entire way through our complex's very stressful time when a 3-story tree fell and ripped the electrical system straight off the exterior wall. Rick drove 100+ miles away just to grab a part that was out of stock everywhere else. On top of that, Rick stayed at our complex an entire extra day waiting on the electrical company to turn the power back on to make sure we were set. By far the most attentive customer service I've witnessed. Thank you, Rick!
