We had a great day at the nursery, picking our fall plants and supply it has everything we needed. Definitely go back again.

One of the best nurseries in Austin. They've got a great selection of sproutlings, baby plants, and more mature ones. I love love love their herb collection. If you ever need anything, the staff is always happy to help -- there are no dumb questions and you feel their love of gardening when you talk to them.

I don't remember what I ate last night but I DO remember a kind and friendly person named "Lilly" who helped me pick the perfect bathroom plant for my apartment and a pot to go with it also. She even drilled holes in it for me and potted it! The store is very clean, lots of selections, and is air-conditioned (inside). I'd return there with my mom one day. After a few other nursery visits, this is my favorite in Austin. Thanks!

Shoal Creek is a gem when it comes to plant selection and staff expertise. The employees here are genuinely passionate about what they do—they’re friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to offer great advice whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started. It’s the kind of place where you can learn something new every time you stop in.

Unfortunately, actually getting to the store is the hardest part. The parking situation is a nightmare—tight, cramped, and poorly laid out. There’s often a line just to get in or out of the lot, and once you’re in, good luck finding a space. The frustration seems to bring out the worst in people. I’ve witnessed more than a few shouting matches between customers in the parking lot. It’s jarring and really takes away from the otherwise peaceful and inviting vibe inside the store.

If you can stomach the parking chaos and dodge the parking-lot drama, the experience inside is top-notch. But honestly, it’s enough to make you think twice before going back.

Such a beautiful selection of plants and flowers. Plants are lively, they have a wide selection of succulents and bushes. They carry a lot of natural/ organic products. I could just walk around looking at things all day. I got a garden hot there that I get lots of complements on. They also have a reward program.

Love the native and drought tolerant plant selection here. Helpful sales people. Love the waterfall! It always makes me happy just to be there.

Shoal Creek sources their plant from reputable growers and I never had any plants die off from transplanting them into my garden. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help with any questions you may have

Went today for supplies to complete a raised garden bed. First time project beginner level. Was unable to get assistance. I wasn’t sure what type soil would be best and couldn’t see prices for the bagged soil out back. Disappointed.

Fantastic plant shop with knowledgeable staff. Everything is clean and or organic. I have been coming here to revitalize my dead yard and their products are bringing it back to life and keeping all the fantastic critters in my yard. They are always slammed and for good reason, one of the best plant stores in Austin. They also have mulch and other basics for your garden. They have weed controllers, and various bug and animal repellents, and so so many plants. They also have a great selection of trees and I have planted two and are doing great. For a non-plant person this place has been essential for gaining the knowledge, confidence, and products I needed to bring my yard to life.

Your first purchase is 10% when you sign up for their rewards so make sure it’s a nice big purchase!

Great selection of succulents. I grabbed 8 smaller succulents to make these two terrariums. There are many other plants, but I did not check it this time.
All the staff members were friendly. Cynthia gave me many tips for my succulent terrarium care, and I really appreciated it!!!

I had a disappointing experience at Shoal Creek Nursery I was just there today. The customer service was lacking, and the staff seemed uninterested in assisting me specially that lady with a long hair Kristine rude she looks unhappy with her job. I was met with vague responses and dismissive attitudes. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer.
I expected better service from a place that specializes in plants and gardening. While their selection is decent, the poor customer service makes it difficult to recommend this nursery. Hopefully, management can address these issues to improve the experience for future customers.

They have a great collection of plants and planters. I found everything I was looking for.

Excellent in town nursery with a wide selection of plants large and small. They have every tool, every IPM pest/pathogen management product, and the wisdom of their long time staff to advise you. All the staff from the checkout folks to the plant-centered folks are very knowledgeable. They have a great selection of natives and quality cultivars that do well in Austin. Lots of indoor plants too.

Staff is super helpful and actually knows their stuff - they’re always down to answer questions or give advice without being pushy. Oh, and the cats that hang around the place are a bonus. Friendly crew all around.
Prices are fair for Austin. Not the cheapest, but you’re paying for quality plants and people who actually know what they’re talking about.

My daughter and I popped in to see what they have available. We walked out with some succulents including a ginormous Plumeria. I hope it come back to life in the spring 🌱🌷🌸

They have gorgeous plants! I bought a few plants for my shaded porch, which I often struggle to find. I'm also working on building a herb garden so I was disappointed when I didn't find a variety of herb plants, they only had basil, sage and rosemary when I visited. Customer service was ok, the employees are kind, but most of them are clueless if you ask them questions about plants.

I recently had a disappointing experience with this flower nursery. I explained to the staff that I needed flowers that could survive outside, hang, and were easy to maintain. Despite being assured that the flowers I purchased met these criteria, they all died within 24 hours of bringing them home.

When I contacted the shop to request a refund or replacement, I was informed that they do not offer either. I asked to speak with the owner, and was told that they would call me back, but they never did. This lack of customer service and support is unacceptable.

As a result, I cannot recommend this flower nursery to others. They do not prioritize customer satisfaction or product quality, and their refusal to stand behind their products is disappointing. If you are considering purchasing from this establishment, I urge you to exercise caution and consider other options.

As consumers, we deserve better than to be taken advantage of by businesses that do not uphold basic standards of transparency and honesty. I hope that my review serves as a warning to others and encourages the flower nursery to improve their practices in the future.

I really want to like this shop because they have very nice selections, but the women at the outdoor checkouts are rude and unhelpful. It’s gotten worse the last two times I’ve visited. For example, imagine you work there and you’re sitting at the checkout, you’re the first person people see as they walk in, you don’t say hi or acknowledge guests as they walk in because you’re on your phone or reading a magazine and when the guest says hello, you ignore them. It’s weird. Another time I asked for help because all the stacks of soil in the store were for potting, I asked where the garden soil was, she points and says over there. I go “over there” still all potting soil. Can’t find it. She’s absolutely zero help. Didn’t even try to help. Do better. Be nice. Also, the plant I bought started to die the very next day. Leaves falling off.

My favorite neighborhood nursery. They have beautiful landscape plants, seasonal yard decor, seeds, pots, hanging baskets, bulbs, trees, shrubs, water devices, bedding material and thermal plant covers. Everything is high quality and the staff very helpful. They get this neighborhood Realtor’s thumbs up!

I am in love with each house plant I’ve purchased, and love browsing the selection. I’m pretty sure the last time I stopped in it was 15 minutes before closing on a weekday, and I was able to snatch up the beauties I wanted, along with pots and saucers. Polite staff. Great selection. Able to park easily each visit.
