Charlie bid the project the day after I called, he put me on the schedule for two weeks later and once the work started, they were done in 3 days.

Cutters did a great job cleaning out dead plants from the freeze and replanting to our specifications. The crewing working at our house was very professional and efficient. When one aspect of our plan was not completed as discussed, their team was quick to remedy the situation and deliver a solution we are more than pleased with. Charlie and the admin team were very responsive in the bidding/billing process, which made for a very enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a company with hardworking people that genuinely strive to deliver great landscaping services - Cutters is the way to go.

Cutters was an absolute pleasure to work with while creating a beautiful and functional space for our family in our backyard. We had severe drainage issues - Cutters was able to alleviate that pain point and even went above and beyond by suggesting an alternative way to tackle the problem. I appreciated their transparency in order to make sure the fix was good for the long term and not just a bandaid. I trusted the crew and knew we were in good hands! It was such a good feeling to know they all were working together to achieve our vision.

Buyer Beware — Cutters Landscaping Let Me Down

I’m honestly not sure how Cutters Landscaping has so many five star reviews because my experience was anything but five star. Things started off well enough, but the quality dropped fast and the disappointment just kept piling up. I hired them to install a full xeriscape design which included removing old mulch, laying compacted road base, weed barrier, and topping with crushed granite along with planting drought tolerant landscaping.

A large amount of mulch was left behind in the front flower beds, side landscaping, and other smaller areas around the house. I was told there would be a proper compacted road base followed by weed block. When I asked why there was no road base, the crew casually claimed it was mixed in with the crushed granite. That is not even close to what we discussed at the start of the project.

Then came the real corner cutting. They ran out of weed block and instead of taking the time to get more and finish the job right, they dumped crushed granite straight over mulch and dirt. I see why they are called Cutters. It is because they cut corners and hope you do not notice. When I pointed out the mulch bleeding through and that the work was clearly unfinished, I was met with attitude instead of ownership.

As a retired veteran I know the meaning of integrity and this was not it. If you are looking for a company that will actually listen to your vision and deliver with professionalism, care, and follow through, do not use Cutters. No matter the cost and I paid over $10K, if you are hiring someone to do a job especially in a market full of competition you expect the basics; quality work, clear communication, and someone who gives a damn after being paid. Instead I got excuses, rushed work, and silence once the check cleared. No one came to check the final product. No one followed up to ask if I was happy. It was like once they got the money I no longer existed. I’ve taken the quality control into my own hands and corrected the remaining lazy, incompetent work to ensure the value I put into this project actually shows.

We had a great experience with Cutters. The same crew was with us for the month it took to complete our project, and they were friendly and efficient. They provided expertise on how to best make our design plan a reality. The Cutters business team was communicative and helpful. We will definitely use Cutters again for any future landscaping needs.

I've used Cutters for a few things and have been extremely happy with all.

Sod - They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I know nothing about grass, so they really helped me select the type of grass I wanted. The installation was a breeze - they knocked it out in a day (ripping up old sod, new foundation/soil, laying new sod, clean up). Once the sod took, they even came back and replaced the 2-3 pieces that didn't take (at no cost).

Tree trimming - I've used another company in the past and Cutters did the same quality work for half the price.

Landscaping - They planted 6 Mexican fencepost cactus. Again, extremely helpful in selecting the size (bigger = $$) and easily planted them for me.

They even cleaned up the sidewalk/weeds at no extra cost and that was much appreciated. In short, I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the future.

We couldn’t be happier with our landscaping project! Our yard was washing away with the rain so we needed a quick fix but also wanted something aesthetic. Charlie gave us a fair estimate and they started the next day. It was done in less than three days and the workers were so nice too. Our new area has made it so we don’t have to worry about losing more of our yard, and now we have a gorgeous area to relax in the shade. He made sure we had lots of plants for butterflies and hummingbirds. We’re so impressed with everything from start to finish. They will always be our go-to for anything in our yard.

Wonderful experience with Cutter Landscaping. We also used their Landscape Architect, Sarah Garcia to help design our large project. They did a great job making our 7 week project fly by!

I originally reached out to Cutter to get a quote for a covered patio, deck, and a solution for eroded dirt on the side of our home. During the quote process, Charlie was on time, and I received an estimate within 30 mins of his visit. We decided to choose Cutter for our project. They did a phenomenal job. The crew was amazing, you could tell they cared about a job well done and were particular on details. I would highly recommend.

We are so pleased with the quality of work and customer service we received from Cutters Landscaping. After working with Yardzen on the design, we had several companies come by to give us quotes. In researching companies we had heard so many horror stories that we were terrified to select the wrong contractor, but Charlie was so friendly and warm it completely set our minds at ease. Felipe was assigned to our project and his level of experience was evident right away as he had to navigate some elevation issues in our yard. He took the design from Yardzen and adapted it to something even more beautiful that also addressed those issues. Once the work was underway, both Charlie and Felipe were in constant contact and always addressed any questions or concerns we had as they came up. The crew assigned to us were so friendly and professional, and are some of the hardest working guys we’ve had the pleasure to work with.
