I am very methodical and analytical. So, I talked to all the big name solar panel companies in Austin, such as Sunrun, ATX Solar, Lighthouse, 512 Solar, and Greenbelt. I asked for the design details, panel manufacturer info, micro inventor manufacturer info, and how panels would be installed on my roof. After almost 2 months of market research, I decided to go with Adi's Greenbelt, because

(1) Adi is more willing to work with you, listen to your needs, answer your questions, and provide you with his best designs. I am not new to solar panels. I had 25 older damaged panels on my roof originally installed in 2010, and I want to replace them with new and more productive panels. So, I have lots of questions related to how to better reuse or recycle my older panels, positions of the panels (south, west, or east facing), productivity of the panels, how micro inverters work with the panels, and how electricity generated by panels feed back to the Austin Energy grid. Adi not only has answers, but he has the best answers among all the companies I talked to.
(2) Greenbelt is super environment friendly. Going with solar panels is an investment. An investment not only to offset the electricity bills, but also to do good for the earth. Adi helped me to recycle all the old, damaged panels. Dustin, the onsite installation manager, showed/gave me rooster shape of paperweight he made from melting smaller pieces of aluminums. I really like their practices.
(3) Greenbelt has better than fair payment structure. Adi is an owner. You want to talk to/negotiate with an owner, instead of sales, because owner makes decision and sales concerns more on their commissions. Adi gave me the best price per KW among all the solar panel companies I talked to. Not just that, Adi also agreed I don't need to pay a cent until Austin Energy finished the inspections. All the other solar companies required to put 40%-70% down before the solar panel installations. And entire process from installation to Austin Energy's inspection could take 2-3 months. It's a lot of relief financially.

We had a great experience with Greenbelt Solar. We got 6 quotes before choosing Greenbelt. Adi was honest, straightforward, and gave us an excellent deal. We also got top-of-line REC panels and enphase micro-invertors. They were also the only company who offered to install the panels at an angle to maximize the electricity generated. We saved a ton going with Greenbelt.

The biggest benefit with going with Greenbelt is their payment structure. They take full payment ONLY after the system is up and running, and properly connected to the electric grid. I didn't have to pay a dime until then. This payment structure helps to ensure fast turnaround and quality work.

The only minor critique I would give was the installation crew didn't try to engage with us or talk us through what they were planning on doing each day. It was as if they weren't there at all. More communication from the people on-site during this phase would have been preferred.

I work for a company that manufactures commercial solar equipment (not residential), and this offers me exposure to TONS of solar installers. When it came to installing on my house, I had to shop around, and I'm soo glad I stumbled on Greenbelt! Keep in mind my relation to the industry, and I was still blown away by the precision, care, and quality of work Greenbelt provided on my home. They really went above and beyond to make sure the end result looked great! The crew was very kind, experienced, and polite. 2 years now, and no issues with my solar! There's a lot of nightmare solar installers out there, so be careful. Do yourself a favor and just use Greenbelt!

Can't say enough great things about Greenbelt Solar! Super easy to work with and had my EV charger installed in about an hour. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I don't write reviews, but this felt warranted. Adi and his team have been spectacular. Every job has a chance for unforeseen problems, and ours was no exception (issues with a sensor, issues with the electric company changing their minds about the inspection, etc.). Adi drove everything with diligence and speed, resolving all our issues quickly. He communicated to me everything that was going on and made sure I was up to speed and aware. And his installers (Dustin + Phillip) were phenomenal, also taking time to educate me on how the equipment worked as they were getting everything in place. The whole experience was better than I could have expected. Absolutely top-notch customer service. Thank you Greenbelt Solar!

We have used Greenbelt Solar for 3 installations between 2012 and 2022. Adi has been responsive every time and as technical as you like him to be - every single installation was unique and he was patient in discussing things like the best orientation for the panels, micro vs central inverters, and even the type of solar panels, and is always willing to work something out in our budget. The crew is also excellent and do a clean job everytime, I have seen the some of the same people on site since the beginning, which is a testament to the sustainability of the company. Even when we had misfortune of failed panels and microinverters for the older systems, Adi was quick to jump on it to fix the problems under their warranty. I highly recommend Greenbelt Solar for their workmanship on installing solar panel systems.
