Asked for an estimate, and met with a sales rep three days later. was told I could expect an estimate in a few days, via email. Called twice, emailed one, texted once. I never heard back from anyone and it has been three weeks. I'm not too impressed with this company.

I called DEI to assist with a small project in my home. I needed to replace two kitchen light fixtures that required electric boxes to be moved. Not only did they schedule the visit quickly, but even arrived exactly on time. We even received a courtesy call that the electrician was on the way!

I would recommend DEI services to anyone. No job is too big or small. Fast, courteous, and professional.

I'm pretty frustrated with our experience. I asked Denton Electric Inc. to come out to bid on the things that needed to be fixed as identified in our inspection. I also asked if it was possible to get two things fixed we knew we wanted fixed no matter what (outlets with no power and a light in my daughter's room that was very dim).

The technician arrived, listened attentively as I told him again what we wanted, read through the entirety of the inspection report, looked at the light in my daughter's room, and came back downstairs. Then he tells me (an hour later) he is NOT the one who does any bids and his ticket said he was only fixing some outlets. Annoying, but okay. I get it.

Then he tells me he cannot fix the light in my daughter's room, and would not be able to do it. Not only that, but now the light that was dim won't even turn on! I literally just got her dressed in the dark.

He charged me 90. Half of that was him reading a report knowing he COULD NOT do anything about it. Then he left our home in WORSE electrical shape than when it started. Then I asked about if we would get a call about the bid work and he told me I would need to call back -- as if it were my mistake. I am SO frustrated by the service here.

Denton Electric Inc. has run cat 6 cables in multiple structures, installed a networking bridge, and run a 240v circuit for me… couldn’t be happier, thank you Denton Electric!

Time spent on repairs seems inflated. Techs did not seem well trained as they did not check the breaker until well into the diagnosis. This led to an $800 bill for 2 outlet replacements. When issues were brought to management, it took them 4 months to reply and were accusatory and hard to reach. If you do use Denton Electric, be sure to write down when exactly they arrive and leave. 2 stars since the outlets were replaced and are working.

They got to our house with in about 2 hours same day, were very nice and polite , they knew what to do to fix problem, had supplies on van, and completed job quickly and, for a reasonable price. I am very happy with the service received and I hope they have a great day. I will be calling them next time I need service.

We've been using Denton Electric Inc. for more than twenty years. They're willing to do small projects as well as big jobs, which I appreciate. Pricing has always been reasonable.

There is a long story, but the short of it is that they were supposed to come at 8am, got lost and so didn't show up until 830 (totally fine) then after being there for 10 minutes stepped through the roof (accidents happen) spent the rest of the time cleaning up the insulation and ductaping the hole closed. Never received a call afterwards from anyone apologizing and saying they would fix it. I finally called later that day just to make sure the ball was rolling on getting someone out to repair. We had a baby crawling around and insulation was falling. They seemed annoyed that I called and was trying to get it fixed ASAP. They paid for the repair but tried to bill us for an hour and a half of labor for 2 men. When I explained that seemed unreasonable to the owner he was not apologetic or understanding, he said they start their service hours when they leave their shop. He said all he would do was lower the price to bill me for one hour instead of an hour and a half. So we paid 175$ to get a hole in the ceiling after 10 min of their staff being there. Our problem was an easy fix with the breaker. We understand accidents happen and the staff that came to our house was friendly, however we won't be using them or recommending them because we don't trust that we'll be taken care of if there is another accident. Customer service seems to be a low priority for office staff and owner who were not kind or understanding.

I used this company a while back, and have been extremely frustrated with how they have handled things since their visit. We had an outlet installed in our bathroom (there weren't any outlets in the only full bath in my house), and I also wanted to see if they could take a look at another outlet in the house that wasn't working. They had two guys crawling around in the attic for about an hour and eventually said they couldn't figure out why the outlet wasn't working. Meanwhile, there were two other guys working on installing the new outlet in the bathroom. When they were done, the new outlet was installed directly below the light switch, and since there was only a tiny space between the light switch panel and the tile on the wall, they roughly trimmed the new outlet panel so it would fit. It looks ridiculous and tacky. I am also not sure why they needed 2 people to do this (I am not even sure two people would even fit in that bathroom). A couple of weeks after they left, the outlet stopped working completely, and when they came back out to see why, it had started working again and they insinuated that I should have a man come over and look at it before calling them back out. All-in-all they charged me for 4 people working 3 hours each (that's 12 hours worth of work to have one crappy outlet installation). The outlet has since given out completely and once again we do not have an outlet in that bathroom. I have refused to pay the bill, and they have since sent it to collections. So, I am in collections, have a broken, ridiculous-looking outlet, and they want me to pay them close to $300 for that. I really think their business was slow and they thought they could recoup some funds from a single woman. They have not been understanding and won't work with me to come fix it and lower my bill. I don't understand why they needed so many people to come out and essentially not do anything but I will also not be calling them again. Hire them at your own risk.

I needed to get two cnc machines (3 phase) wired up for my machine shop. I called around and received a tone of quotes from competitors and found Josh at Denton Electric to be very knowledgeable and well priced. He suggested a few ways to save money while not compromising the quality. When the crew came they worked hard and did a great job. I had a last minute air compressor that also needed wiring. I called Josh and he kindly pointed out to me why the specs would burn up the motor. I quickly swapped out the air compressor and brought a new one in. The crew added the line and my shop is up and running well with no problems. I received the bill and it was exactly as they quoted. In my books, they went above and beyond what was expected. They’ll be my shop electricians from now on.

We initially started using this company 8 years ago when our house caught fire from lightning. We've used them periodically over the years and they've always provided amazing service. The crews are knowledgeable and professional. We appreciate their attention to detail as well!

I would like to give Denton Electric an excellent review! Their friendly customer service was great! Rhonda Mallory did an excellent job working my request into their busy schedule, I needed an electric wire move from my house to my storage building after the straight line windstorm blew a large branch across it. Ty Bates remove the wire and did an excellent job. I give Rhonda and Ty Five star review for their great service Denton electric is the best warm regards, Rosalita Pennington.

UPDATE- Regarding the response to the 4% credit/debit card fee. **See photo.** No, the invoice I received at the time of service (which is the one I brought into the office the next morning and is the only invoice I had been given) did not say anything about a fee anywhere on it. No information is given up front about payment options or all of the fees. In addition, the drive was not 21 miles from the business- it is less than 10 so it sounds like you are inflating numbers. If you are charging each customer mileage based on the distance from the customer appointment previous, then that would appear to be unethical. I stand by my review even more now.
    --------------------------------

Although everyone I spoke with was polite, this was a very disappointing experience.

First, I scheduled my appointment a week out because this was not urgent. I was given an appointment date and was told the technician would call me sometime in the afternoon to let me know when he was on his way over. I was not given a time or even a time frame so I had to make sure I was available the entire afternoon. The technician arrived around 4:20 pm and after starting the work informed me that he wouldn't charge me after hours rates even though it was after hours. That made no sense since I scheduled this the week prior and did not request an after hours visit. They close at 4:00 pm their apparently so they should probably work on their scheduling.

Second, I received a written invoice and was told I could pay by check or cash but not card since it was after hours. I asked about just going down to the office and paying the next day and was told that would be fine. When I arrived the next day my invoice was not in the system yet so luckily I had taken my copy. I was going to pay with my debit card and was told they charge a 4% fee if a card is used. This was not listed on the invoice nor did the technician say anything about that. I was told I could pay by check, but seriously most people don't carry checks around anymore. So it was a waste of time and gas to even bother driving down there to pay. They do not offer electronic invoicing or payments which would be way better than the process they have now.

Finally, the invoice for replacing a GFCI outlet totaled almost $185. When I called to schedule I was not informed that there was a trip fee added to the charges which was $75 which is a bit high. Then the minimum half hour labor fee was $75 (the labor cost is higher than some I have spoken to and time spent on repair was 22 minutes) and the material was $32. So all of this and obviously I still can't say if the problem with remedied since it has only been a day, but if not then I will definitely go with a different company next time.

There is a lack of transparency when it comes to fees with this company and if they're not going to have it written on invoices or give you the information verbally, it might be best for them to post pricing and policies on their website so that people can decide up front on whether or not they want to go elsewhere. Despite many of the positive reviews I have read, which really surprised me after my experience, I would definitely not recommend.

I called this company and ask for an estimate on repair for a house I had under contract. I made it very clear that I was under contract and in my option period and that I do not own the property. They scheduled a time to come out to the property and it was poorly communicated. No email, no appointment, they just called the day of and said we’re headed out. I told them I would not be able to make it out that day but they could bid the work and send me an estimated cost of repairs. Several hours later I had a friend of mine drive by the property to give me an estimate on landscaping and he informed me “hey there are people working here”. This was 5 hours after the scheduled appointment. I had to call and tell them and tell them I didn’t want any work done I just wanted an estimate. They continued to tell me that I wanted the work done and if I’m not paying they will take me to court. This seemed intentionally fraudulent and I’m sure this company had a history of this. I hung up the phone and had to have the cops called to make sure they had left the property. I would avoid this company at all costs. This is not at all a professional company. You have been warned.

Michael is highly recommended and the type of employee that companies should build around.

I had Aaron come out and install an outlet for me to hook up an over the range microwave. He got the plug installed quick and even helped me install the microwave. I didn’t ask him to help but he obliged and did most of the work. If he didn’t help me get that microwave in it would’ve took me all day for what we did in an hour and a half. Thanks again Aaron for the quick and precise work!
