I would have given a 5 star rating, except for the terrible communication over the price. I had 2 ceiling fans that I purchased to be installed on my covered patio. I explained the outlet and lighting situation and was quoted a price of $500 to $700. On July 28, Thursday, after the electrician decided how he wanted to do the job, he said this was a bigger job than his boss thought. They worked a few hours and left. The next day, Friday, July 29, the electrician said his boss was coming to look at the job. His boss told me it would be more money and I said okay, how much more? He said he didn't know until the electrician finished. After the electrician finished at 2:25 PM on Friday. I asked how much and was ready to write the check, but he said I don't know. At this point, I am very unhappy. On Monday, I called to ask about the price and was told again, I don't know the price. The gentleman said there was no one to ask. At this point, I told him about how I didn't ask for the way they put it in and was not told it was going to be more until it was halfway done. The work is very good, but the electrician did more than I needed by putting it on a switch. He said he understood. On Saturday, August 6, I received a bill for $1,037.43. I am not happy with this and don't believe it is a fair price. It is in my opinion that it should not be more $200 more.

I chose to call Harter Electric based on the customer reviews on this site and they proved to be accurate. This company truly cares about the customer!

I had called because the power went out in my neighborhood today but before I knew that officially, I thought it was just my house so I attempted to reset the Main Power breaker but it got stuck in the OFF position.

I spoke with Don at Harter's and he told me that sometimes older breakers get stuck and might need to be replaced. He also told me to try again to reset it but that did not work. He told me that the cost to replace the breaker would run about $250-$300 based on the complexity of replacing the Main Power breaker. He also requested that I send him a photo of the breaker so he could identify it and quote me an accurate cost for a replacement. Once he saw the photo, he found a similar breaker in his shop and he discovered that it was very difficult to reset and would require both hands and a lot of pressure. He called me and had me follow those intructions and it worked, power was restored to my house!!!

This is an example of above and beyond customer service and he saved me a minimum service charge of $145.00 if Harter's came out and accomplished the same thing without replacing the breaker. Harter's could have made some easy money but instead he told me they would rather I not have to spend the money if it truly was not needed. Where else can you get that kind of customer care?

I told him that I really appreciated the advice and the time he spent to help me resolve my issue. Don just said to call him when I did have an issue that required the service of Harter's Electric and I certainly will!

It is a pleasure to deal with such an honest and customer-focused company and I can't recommend them highly-enough for the next time you need electical services!

Pedro with Harter Electric repaired an issue with a circuit breaker. He was wonderfully nice and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and answer all my questions. He even went the extra mile and inspected all connections in the circuit breaker and made sure everything was tight and safe before he left. Fantastic customer service.

I have called Harter Electric since the late 90’s because they are good at their job, have a consistent staff, answer all my questions so that I understand and fairly charge me. I felt confident that my electric needs for my sweet home are well known by the Harter Electric staff. Steve Harter and Jody have a well run business that has my full confidence.

My thanks to Harter Electric for taking care of a recent electrical issue in my home that I was not able to resolve myself. They showed up promptly as promised, and within 30 minutes my power failure mystery (no power in a bedroom) was solved.
It seems now-days good electrical folks that you can trust are hard to find. I've been using Harter for more than 10 years. Fortunately I don't need them very often, but when I do, it's nice to have a company handy that I can trust.

Electrical work is expensive, which is why it's important to get what you pay for. What I pay for is a responsive company that actually answers the phone or returns your call; a company that It shows up on time, is knowledgeable, exercises caution and care in my home, and meets or exceeds my expectations with the quality of work that is done. I think Harter Electric fits the bill on all these accounts. I had recessed lighting put in, and I'll use Harter on my next recessed lighting job, too. It was very refreshing to have them not only do what they said they'd do, but also do it well. Great company.

I have used Harter Electric for all of my electrical needs for over 20 years. Their attention to detail is wonderful, their care while in my home is great, their skills to figure out any odd installation I want is perfect, and their friendliness and professionalism is the highest. Called with somewhat of an emergency on Monday late afternoon, and explained my issue of several plugs not working after lightning struck one of our rental homes. There was some concern we needed to re-wire since it was an older home, and we wanted it checked by professionals. Harter came out the next morning , ON TIME . They reported electrical box was fine and they just needed to replace outlets. Harter did an honest , professional job , at a very fair price. I give them 5 stars all the way around ,and will be using them in the future.

We are in the middle of putting in a pool, extending our porch and adding a back-yard outdoor kitchen, and running into what are probably normal delays and frustrations waiting for the contractor's various subs to show up and complete their work.

As part of the addition, we wanted to add 4 electrical outlets in the ceiling of our existing porch, and since that didn't look like it was going to work out, we contacted a trusted professional electrician, and he recommended we try Steve & Don at Harter Electric in Haltom City.

What a Great Experience we had with them! They came out the same day to see what we were trying to accomplish, quickly provided a quote which we immediately accepted, scheduled their team in the next working day, and when Pedro arrived, he and his partner quickly & professionally did the required install, including adding a completely new line & breaker, and then they fixed the yard light electrical lines destroyed by our pool installer!

Our experience with the team at Harter Electric shows that what we believed about people was still true - their are people and firms out there that truly want to completely satisfy their customers and build a long term and trusted relationship with them.

I submitted a request on line and they didn't respond to me...I guess they don't want my business now, or in the future.

Called and started explaining problem and when I mentioned it was a mobile home, I was interrupted with a rude “Not interested!”.

Absolutely the best! Very reasonable price and excellent, courteous service. Highly recommended.
