Contacted GMES about transfer switch for my home, made an appointment and he was a no show. Called to initiate his status and eta. He then indicated that he would be unable to make it as he he was occupied with another job. A courtesy call to cancel or reschedule in advance would have been the professional way of handling the situation. Would not recommend

Needed wire ran for electric stove from the panel box to the stove with an outlet in a mobile home. Got the phone number on a Tuesday and made an appointment, came on Wednesday to get a quote, did the work on Thursday in a very quick process. Cleaned up any mess they made and very pleasant and personable. Would highly recommend!

I highly recommend GMES Electric for their servicing of residential electrical components. I needed a hood range fan replaced, in addition to a new light bulb for a very stubborn light fixture that I was unable to open after numerous attempts on my own. Their rates are reasonable and they finished the job cleanly and promptly. I would definitely call them again for my future needs.

I normally don’t write reviews but I had such great service that I had to share. I had my power go out in the middle of the night and I panicked. I went online and found a highly rated company in McAllen that claims they’re Open 24 hrs. I thought that was odd, but I decided why not try this. Well, I called at 2:30 AM and found out that was a lie. They have an answering service and then they call you back after 8:00 AM to setup a time. That upset me right away, already lying and haven’t even provided the service yet. NOT.

I continued to look for one in Harlingen with good reviews and found GMES Electric. The gentleman that answered was very professional and let me know there would be a Service Call fee and that he could come out today. Great! As soon as he was available he contacted me and swung by to troubleshoot. He found my problem fairly quick and pointed out several issues for work that had been previously done, I had mini-splits installed. He let me know the issues didn’t require immediate attention but it would require it in the future. He fixed the problem I initially called about and his price was VERY reasonable. I will be calling again to have him address my other issues. I’m a very happy customer and would recommend this company to friends and family. I was having problems with all the lights in the house flickering every time the washer/dryer were on and I also needed a chandelier installed in my foyer. I called GMES and Gilbert came right over. He checked everything and realized it was a problem with the wires from AEP. He told me to call them and they would fix it for free. He could have done unnecessary work and charged me but he was honest and gave me great advice. That problem was taken care of by AEP. Today he sent two young men (sorry I didn’t get their names) to install the chandelier which is like 18 feet high. They showed up when they said they would and within an hour they had finished. It looks great. If you have any electrical work needs, I recommend you call GMES. They will take care of you with honesty, efficiency and all at a reasonable price. Thank you GMES.

Absolutely can recommend! Called about multiple issues throughout the house and he showed up the next day to give us an idea of what was going on.
We found him very kind and patient. Answered all our questions and jumped in to help fix a few things that were quick and easy. Luckily, the repair needed was simple but if we find ourselves in need of help again or have larger projects, we already know who to call. Absolutely a relief to have found a great electrician.

Great Help! So having trouble with my light in the bathroom in the garage. He came and fixed it and for very fair price ($80). He tokd the reason was that the cgi was not wired right and fixed it.

Gilbert added two recessed lights at my home, two GFI plugs, and fixed some wiring issues. He cleaned any mess that was made from the sheet rock, not something everyone does.
No one in Brownsville would show up for the job when they said they would, but Gilbert came through all the way from Harlingen.

They don't do estimates been waiting for weeks and i have a commercial job which is all they do supposedly no return call have money to do job but no one will come!

The google page says residential service but the woman on the phone said they don't do that, so one of these things is a lie and I hope they sort that out eventually.
