My mom, who lives in Quitman,Tx., hired big tex to get rid of a pine tree stump in her back yard. They did a lousy job, leaving the stump sticking up enough to where that area can't be mowed and large pieces of the stump are still there. She tried calling Christian but he has never called her back. They have never returned my calls either. This all started about 3 months ago. My mom is a heart patient who has had multiple back surgeries and is taking care of her invalid sister. She paid them $450.00 to do the work and is getting no consideration from them. We came to the conclusion that they are a fly-by-night company that never frequents the same area twice.

They did a great job removing a large elm and stump that was dying . The guys are very professional and courteous. I will definitely give them a call next year when it's time to trim my oak trees. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends or family.

I've used Big Tex Tree Service for nearly a decade. Always professional, on time and extremely thorough. I had a large oak trimmed recently and very happy with the results.

Our townhome community used Big Tex Tree Service to do major clean up of trees after the freeze this year for a significant price. They were definitely not the lowest bid but we picked them based on the extra efforts in addition to what they promised they would do. They promised to not only remove hanging limbs and limbs off the fences and roofs but to also evaluate each tree for viability to survive (they claimed to have an arborist that would evaluate each tree), remove those trees that were dead or not expected to survive, and shape all our trees. We had to stay with them pretty much every day pointing out trees missed, limbs missed, hanging on houses or fences, and obviously dead trees. They often left areas incomplete, were argumentative when we had to continue to point it out things missed. At that point they started to tell us that is not what they meant they would do. After requesting they come back because they left many trees that were obviously dead, and we had many owners complaining (not a leaf in sight, grey and brittle and while not an Arborist you could tell these were, in fact, dead), they told us to give them time, they would sprout out. They did not.
We called many times requesting they come back and finish the job as promised. First, we were told they couldn't come back this way just for us because they were working out of town and it was expensive for them. After about the 5th call to them, we were ghosted.
We are not complainers and we are appreciative when people do good work. This was a big job and we had a big responsibility to be good stewards with our homeowners contributions. We were simply promised that our property would be in the best shape when they left. It was not. We would not recommend this company. If you use them, make sure to hold them to all items negotiated.

We’ve had Big Tex service our trees 3 times now. They are very professional and give a great price. They bring out a good sized crew to make sure jobs are done well, but knocked out quickly. Also, they do an amazing job cleaning up which seems to be rare for landscaping companies. They even had guys standing around our pool with the net to grab every branch out as soon as it fell in.

Big Tex Tree Service does a wonderful job, they are quick, clean and most importantly take pride in protecting your trees natural growth patterns.

Don't use this company! We hired them about a year ago to clean up after freezing weather. Expensive but they showed up and did the work. I wouldn't say they cleaned up after themselves but we were fine with it. The salesman came by recently to ask about more work on our 5 acre property in the Forest Creek area. After a delay, due to some injury to their salesman (One day he said he was in a motorcycle accident, the next day he said a bull charged him and he got his arm caught in a fence or something. Lying) I let that red flag slide and we agreed they'd come out the following week to complete the work. He bid the job and I offered him a couple hundred $ more than he bid as it's a lot of work. He sent a text a few days later asking if we could move the work to a future date, which I agreed to. When that date arrived they were a no show. I called him and he said they stayed on a prior project as there was more work there. No call, no courtesy at all. I let him know I'd be out of town for a week and he promised they'd be there on Monday the 20th. They were a no show again and I called. They're in Houston. No call, no courtesy. He begged to have until the end of the day to let me know when they would be out to do the work at our property. He never called, never showed. We did some site work twice to provide a good work environment. Still haven't heard from the guy. Hire someone else.

We needed help with damage from the ice storm in northern Michigan. This company was really good to work with. They were responsive, quick, professional, and did an excellent job. Definitely recommend them!

Christian w/ Big Tex got a crew to our house quickly when a tree fell on our house during Hurricane Beryl. They carefully removed the tree off our roof and did a great clean-up of the debris. Excellent communication and ensured all was good before collecting the fee. I recommend!

Amazing job! Amazing, professional, great prize! They did a wonderful job at our cottage on Manuka Lake, Gaylord, Michigan this weekend! Very good communication, Cristian is so great! Very fair with pricing and his crew is wonderful, such hard workers. In less than 6 hours they had our "like war zone" front and back yard in tip top shape! They are coming back to cut some trees for such a reasonable price! Highly recommend.

Christian and his team came out and cleaned up our 2 acres after a horrible ice storm in Northern Michigan. They were very professional, prompt and communicative. Reasonable price for a lot of hard working guys cutting down trees and cleaning up branches and downed trees.

Big Tex Tree Service finished taking seven trees from our property. A few of them 90 feet in height and precariously threatened our home after a heavy storm. The team performed professional and courageous work. I highly recommend their service. Thank you and be safe.

Great company with excellent professional service with a price that was below all my estimates. My cottage was a victim of incredible ice storm in Johannesburg, Michigan located in Northern, Michigan approx. 16 miles from Gaylord. I needed 9 large oaks removed and three other trees trimmed to remove damaged limbs. Due to their proximity to my house all of the trees needed to be climbed to cut. Two crews arrived at 8am and were done at 630pm. The trees and all storm damaged limbs were removed. If you are in Northern Michigan and need storm damage tree service contact the company and ask to speak to Christian.

Phase 2 of the ice storm recovery occurred on May 26th. The stump grinding crew returned and removed 9 stumps. Very professional and great price.
