My overall experience with ABR Electric was outstanding from start to finish. They called ahead to confirm our appointment, and the electrician who arrived was incredibly friendly and professional. I hired them to install a home EV charger, and their communication was crystal clear throughout the entire process.

What truly set them apart was their commitment to safety. After contacting four other electricians, ABR was the only one who not only was willing but actually encouraged pulling a permit and having the work properly inspected. They explained the importance of this step clearly. For me, this was the most critical factor. While it added a small amount to the overall cost, that price is insignificant compared to the peace of mind I now have, knowing the installation was done to code.

After the work was completed, they cleaned up the area meticulously, leaving it exactly as they found it. ABR Electric understands that cutting corners isn't an option, and their professionalism shines through in every aspect of their work. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing electrical services!

Was in need of an electrician to troubleshoot some electrical issues in my house. Called ABR and Lance was able to schedule someone for me that day. ( Appreciated his extra care since they were closed the next week for the holiday!!)

Jason and his apprentice arrived on time and were very kind and professional. More importantly they solved my concern AND provided great solutions for a couple of other issues I was wondering about. In the new year planning to schedule them to come back to help us with some lighting installations.

ABR recently diagnosed an issue that required replacing an outdoor GFCI outlet. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Friendly office staff and technician both notified me that the tech would arrive earlier than scheduled, which worked great for me. Work was completed quickly and site was cleaned up afterwards. Electrical work can be pricey but ABR provides top-notch work at a more-than-reasonable price. Highly recommend ABR Electric!

My 83 year old mother had an electric emergency. Oncor was called and they shut off her power. Mom uses oxygen. She called a couple companies and ABR Electric made her a priority. Her garage fuse box has not been changed since the house was built in 1974. Oncor said her house could’ve burned down. I’m so grateful they made her a priority. And the electrician even came back at the end of his day and stayed with my mom until Oncor finally got there to restore her power. I truly am so thankful to this company for everything they did for Mom. Please give this company a call the next time you need electrical services.

Excellent company to work with. Jason came out and repaired a short in one of my lines and and also ran a new 20amp line in my garage to handle my saws. All work was done in a quality manner. Company is very responsive in setting up appointments and reps show up on time. I've used ABR many times and am always pleased.

I had a very positive experience with ABR Electric. From initial calls discussing estimates and scheduling, to the repair itself, everything was smooth and communication was excellent. They even advised me that the broken parts were on recall allowing me to contact the company and get replacement parts for free! It was much appreciated and saved me a great deal of money. I highly recommend ABR and will certainly use them again.

Rusty and Jamie came to my home and fixed an electrical problem for me, as well as recommending some future safety upgrades. They have years of experience, and are very knowledgeable. I would recommend them for any electrical work you might need.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS OR YOU WILL REGRET YOUR DECISION! We have never in all our years have someone quote us ONE PRICE and at the end of the job charge double the quote. The electrician DID QUOTE us $285 to figure out what she already knew to be the problem. (In conversation as she was checking things out- she said what the issue was) SHE NEVER QUOTED US ANOTHER AMOUNT- So when she suggested installing a new fixure we KNEW that install would be part of the $285 already quoted- NOT AN ADDITIONAL $300 to install a fixure that we went out and purchased.
My husband paid the invoice so there would be no confrontation, but did notice that the invoice now said $337.25 for the BASIC DIAGNOSTIC and $275 to installl the fixture. I have never had a company charge for a 5 minute diagnostic test that much money and not have it included with the work to be done. SHE NEVER QUOTED US ANOTHER AMOUNT !!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you charge us more money when we were only quoted $285???????

Rusty and Jamie Morris were both incredibly helpful, professional, and polite. They properly instructed me as to the electrical issues I was having on two outdoor GFCI plug ports and found the answers immediately upon a quick inspection. Two very nice people with solid professional knowledge that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone needing assistance with any and all things electrical. Rusty quickly found a breaker that had tripped due to a storm. Showed me how to reset it and did not charge us. Thanks!

Get better answering service, 8min call giving all the details just to tell me they don’t service Frisco

I am very pleased with my experience. Shaun was excellent to work with. He let me know exactly what my options were and gave me great alternatives. Showed up on time, was extremely professional and courteous. The bill was not one penny more than the quote, even though he had to make some changes that were unexpected. I can’t say enough good things about this vendor and we will definitely be using them again.

Jamie and Rusty removed two of my old light fixtures and replaced them with new ones. They were friendly and courteous, punctual, and efficient, and did an excellent job with the install. I highly recommend the Mr.Elecrric team.

I want to start off by saying that when I call any kind of home service company, I already expect to have to turn down lots of added extras that I’m told are necessary when I receive the quote for repairs. Mr. Electric came to my house within 2 minutes of the time we had scheduled earlier that day and before I could even answer the door, the tech who had just arrived was busy tightening the loose door handle to our front door. Without being asked he removed his shoes and was very respectful and very attentive when I was describing the issue I was having. After I explained what was going on he invited me to come along as he searched out the issue and as we went along he explained everything to me as he was doing it. I stopped him to say, aren’t you going to quote me a price for repairs before you start working? To which he responded and said, yessir I will let you know before I do anything that I will have to charge you for. After about 30 minutes of walking around my house discussing the power issues and learning about his family and telling him about mine, he looked at me and said, “well that should
Take care of your issue I’m pretty sure.” And to my surprise, he had made the repair without me even noticing and he said since it only took 30 minutes and no parts or additional men were required that he was just going to charge me for the service call. I insisted that he at least charge me for the half hour of me annoying him and he said it was not necessary. When he left I offered him $20 cash as a tip to which he politely declined and asked for a good review instead. These guys are great and the lady I spoke to on the phone was so kind and they made me feel like family. I won’t be calling anyone else from now on when it comes to any and all electrical needs.

Rusty and Jamie were great. They worked fast, were very friendly and got our ceiling fan installed beautifully, making sure it was just right. They saved us some time and money by seeing an obvious problem before doing an expensive diagnostic procedure.

Alex from Mr Electric installed an 100 amp EV charger in my garage. He did an exceptional job. He went out of his way to finish the job in the right way instead of cutting corners. He actually purchased a new hydraulic tool to finish the job for me. I am very impressed. Will definitely hire again.
Waiting on the permit, will update how it goes but I don’t expect any issues going by the technician’s professionalism.

Update on 3/25/2025
After repeatedly following up with both Mr Electric and the City of Celina for several months, I am left with no option but to write a public review here.
Sequence of events:
- Contractor submitted a permit request on City portal.
- City reviewed it and sent it back saying they need more information.
- The contractor says they do not see any comment or further action needed from them.
- The city told that they can join a 3-way call with the contractor and precisely guide them on how to access their feedback and re-submit the required information.
- After nearly 6 months, Mr. Electric simply does not respond to my request to join a call with City to fix this issue and maintains that they do not have anything to do.
- I am fed up sending multiple emails to the owner with no response and multiple calls to their office.

Hope this review moves them to take some action.

Edit 4/23/2025:
A month from my last review here, nobody has returned my calls or emails yet. I called the office again today and to follow up and the answering service collected my information. I am going to wait the next 48 hours for a response. Fingers crossed!

Edit 6/11/2025:
As much as I was not willing to go to this length, I had no option but to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation around 4/30/2025. Following the complaint, my Permit process has been completed with the City of Celina as of 6/11/2025. Thanks to Mr. Electric for completing the job as promised even though it took ~10months and several strings to be pulled.

Travis was great. Very knowledgeable about installing EV charger in the garage. Fair quote and finished early. I would definitely use Mr. Electric of McKinney again.
