Hubert and his crew are efficient, super knowledgeable about plants, and how to take care of them. In about 4 hours, my yard went from scorched earth to a lush Eden (no joke it was bad). Communication was great, the crew is easy to get along with, and just good people. It was very obvious Hubert and his team care about their work and are proud of the job they did. They independently went the extra mile for my project. Price was spot on. I'm already discussing the next phase. Call H&H. You'll be happy you did!

Huge transformation of a side yard. Added sprinklers and lawn. Looks amazing. This is our third time working with H&H and we are always well taken care of. Highly recommend for large or small jobs.

The bad reviews aren't anomalies!

I had a terrible experience with H&H Landscaping. The owner, Hubert, was responsive and attentive—until he received my payment of over $1,200 for their "fall refresh package." After that, his concern for customer satisfaction went out the window. The plants they installed died within a week despite consistent watering. When I reached out to their office, they sent some guys to “fix” the problem. All they did was trim back some plants and remove the dying seasonal ones.

I tried to follow up with their office multiple times, and each time, the young lady told me she was meeting with Hubert soon and he’d call me. After four rounds of this, Hubert finally texted (not called, as promised) and blamed the issue on “lack of watering.” He insisted that their work wasn’t warrantied. I asked him to call so we could discuss it properly, and when he finally did, he just repeated the same excuses. When I mentioned leaving a review, his response was, “I don’t care, go ahead and post it.”

Save yourself the headache and avoid H&H Landscaping if you value quality, professionalism, and accountability.

I am writing to express our dissatisfaction with recent landscaping services provided by H&H Landscaping. We contracted H&H in May 2024 to refresh our exiting flowerbeds. Their initial response was prompt and professional, out the next day and quote in hand the day after.
However, once the contract was signed, the customer service declined significantly. We were initially provided with an installation date, which came and went with no activity. After calling the office, we were told that we had not been scheduled for that day but were scheduled several weeks out. Fine, misunderstandings happen. To our surprise, the next day a crew shows up unannounced and starts work on the beds. This resulted in another call to the office where we were told that the crew had been scheduled for this day. Total lack of accountability on the incorrect scheduling, but at least we were getting it done!
At the completion of the job, I expressed concern that the plants were significantly smaller than I expected, and one bed was missing a plant. When asked, we were told they install smaller plants to allow the homeowner to trim and shape as they grow. The bed with the missing plant was covered in grass vs. a shrub. At this point, we let it go as it was not worth the argument to get it corrected.
About a month after install, we noticed a grassy weed in the beds. This was not anything we had seen in our beds before, and we can only assume that it was introduced in the mulch that was installed. We called the office regarding this and a dead shrub that was under warranty. H&H were very defensive. Their response to the weed issue is that they use the largest mulch company, and the weed could not have come from the mulch. They did finally replace the dead plant, but it is not the same as all the others in the bed, so it now looks odd.

On a positive note, the crew was polite polite and hardworking.

However, overall, I would not recommend this company. The lack of communication, inaccuracy in scheduling, questionable plant / mulch quality and defensiveness when trying to resolve issues were not worth the final end product.

What You Should Know Before You Book:
If you have a sprinkler system, turn it off several days before install. This wasn’t mentioned and caused delays.

Be home during the install if possible—it’s helpful to see how things are done and learn yard care tips.

Ask for a brush-up service around 9–12 months after install. (Ours is still new, but we’ll update once that happens.)

Regret: We didn’t upgrade to Cool Turf. It heats up just like the weather—something to consider if you live in a hot climate.

Our Experience:
We chose Big Tex Turf because they matched key items from another quote, had great reviews, and guaranteed completion before a big home event. We paid in full, so can’t speak to financing.

Our sales rep (Zach) started strong, but was hard to reach after booking. When weather delayed our install and left a large sand pile in the street (a safety and HOA issue), we couldn’t get a hold of him—even the install team had trouble. I had to step in and offer a temporary tarp/cone solution myself.

Tip: Texting a team member is more effective than calling. Calls go to the main office.

Despite the sales rep gap, the installation team was excellent. They were efficient, professional, and finished the job in one day. Cleanup was great, and they came back as early as 7 AM to resolve post-install questions.

2-Year Follow-Up (as of 5/14/2025):
Almost two years later, customer service remains solid. We’ve had a few normal turf issues and they’ve addressed every one quickly. The lawn still looks great—we’re overall very happy.

Final Thought:
We recommend Big Tex Turf—just be proactive about communication and ask all your questions upfront. If you do that, you’ll likely be very pleased with the results.

HH properties went above and beyond my expectations. The before and after pictures say it all. Thanks to Hubert and his team, my front lawn looks so better. The team at HH Property Services completed the project within a few hours! We will definitely be using them again for our landscaping needs.

H&H Property Services did a great job with trimming our palm trees in the back yard! They gave us a competitive quote and the team was professional. I appreciated the open communication with scheduling due to weather issues.

I definitely do not recommend this company. I have lived in our house for 3 years. After the freeze we had a lot of dead garden plants and paid someone to redo our garden. They must have used bad quality fill dirt because our garden became riddled with weeds. We never had a single weed in the three years we’d lived here until they redid our garden. So we hired H&H Landscaping to fix this problem. I know some weeds are inevitable, but we hard weeds in every quarter inch. I hold H&H Landscaping all I want is for the weed issue to be gone. I don’t care what they have to do, my only concern is the mass amount of weeds. They assured me they could handle the job, that this was an "easy job". We paid over $800 and all they did was hand pull the weeds and put mulch on top. They trimmed two trees and brought us a rose bush. That is it. They did this job on Thursday, July 20, by Sunday July 23 our garden already had a ton of weeds growing through. This is unacceptable and of poor quality. I texted to ask about this and they said to “keep an eye on it and weed when we see fit”. One of the men working on our garden told me to call them to come back every two weeks to weed the garden for us. What? They distinctly told me they could take care of the weeds “no problem”. Well, we have a problem. There are still weeds, a ton of them. So I called my bank to withhold payment, and this was only after trying to reach out to have the problem resolved, and suddenly they were too busy to help. They did finally send a crew out to put down the weed barrier, however they didn't have enough mulch to cover it, so the weed barrier is still poking through, and they only put weed barrier down on one half of the garden. so half my garden has an overgrowth of weeds. What an absolute waste of money. I could have done this and saved myself $600. I was lied to and completely ripped off. I thought we were dealing with professionals but that is not what we experienced. I would not recommend them unless you need a tree trimmed. That’s about it. I have attached photos of the work done, and this is AFTER they came back out to "fix" the problem...It looks horrible and its just a month later. I was as polite as possible, and waited a long time to write a review because I didn't want to do it in anger, but I am still very upset and disappointed. They never reached back out to see if the job was satisfactory, they just seemed annoyed that I was asking them to do what I paid for and they seemed put out with me. I just want the job done right and I want what we paid for. Not this.

I am responding to the reply I was given. This is quite frankly untrue. I told you guys I wanted my entire garden ripped out and only one row of bushes left because I did not want to deal with the weeds. I said sod the whole thing. YOUR man, said he did not have to do that. This was an EASY job and that he would take care of the weeds. He said he's done work for the University of Houston and this was a small job, he did not have to pull the weeds in order to get rid of the weeds, his crew could handle it. it was not until AFTER I complained about there being weeds that he went back on his previous statement and said "oh actually I cant take care of the weeds." If that was true, then he should have pulled the garden and quoted me to sod the whole area instead of talking me out of that because he guarantied no weeds. As of today, no one has reached back out to me to correct this issue as was said in the reply. I also think it is worth mentioning that almost every single one of my bushes DIED after they came back and put in a root barrier. I have a sprinkler system so it was not the draught. Also, the other half of the garden (Where they did NOT put in a weed barrier) none of my bushes died on that side. So not only did they NOT do the job I paid them for, after coming back to "remedy" their mistake they killed my bushes. I will try to upload photos of all my dead bushes, next to my sprinkler system so they cant claim it was the draught and lack of water.

My property needed a proper drainage system and a bit of a face lift to make the place more aesthetically pleasing and Trevor and his team did a fantastic job with this task, so I'll definitely be back for more home improvements!

All three men did a great job in filling up my raised garden bed. Very professional, friendly and efficient.

They did a great job with our fall mulching. I appreciate how much they cleaned out the flower bed first before applying the mulch and trimming back some of the plants that suffered from the freeze.

This is just a quick note to express our total satisfaction with the results of our landscaping that H&H completed last week. As shown on the attached pictures, the transformation of our patio area is breathtaking! Not only was the project completed a day sooner than estimated, the quality is outstanding. H&H Property Services along side of Jose which is head of the crew and the entire crew themself were very skilled in their work, and always respectful to us and our property. H&H Property Services was an absolute pleasure to work with, from beginning to end. Their excellent work has been instrumental in improving the appearance and function of our property. They are easy to work with, consistent, and good at what they know best!

Highly recommend this company! They knew exactly the right way to trim/clean up our crêpe myrtle, and did a very thorough job cutting back the oaks around our house. Will definitely be using them again!

Hubert and his team did a great job expanding my gravel driveway for a parking area. He is very easy to get a hold of and communicates clearly. The estimate for the work was fair and he was on the schedule as promised. His workers did a nice job, followed my requests and cleaned up after themselves. I definitely recommend HH Property services and I'll be using them again for future jobs.

I would strongly discourage anyone from hiring this company. Here is a quote to trim 10 trees that are evergreen trees about 7ft high and some Legustrom bushes. 3K!!! That is crazy! I just paid someone about $250 to do the exact same job. They could not explain how they got to that number either.

I did follow-up and thumbs up was the response. No explanation as to how he got to that quote.

Very responsive, came out immediately to give an estimate. Offered a number of payment options. Installed in one day. Quality is great!
