I prefer to use a tree service that prunes with selectivity rather than those who cut excessively. They climbed into the trees to trim from within not just from the ground. I can trim from the ground but lack the ability to get up high and prune. They chipped and removed what the cut off. It is more expensive to do it this way but it lasts.

I have been trusting Bartlett Tree Experts with taking care of my trees for a few years now. I had a crew out today to remove mistletoe, trim dead branches and reduce the limbs on some cedar elms. Bartlett Tree Experts of San Marcos TX recently pruned our live oak trees front and back. The project started out with a productive consultation with our Arborist Representative Joe Harris. He is a great listener and explainer of what needs to be done to achieve our goals for the trees. The crew -- Joe, Christian, and Jeremy -- were terrific. They were courteous, responsive to our input, and very effective in cleaning out the dead branches and some small dead trees. We were especially pleased with their careful pruning of our large live oak tree. They achieved a balanced weight of the branches that is good for the tree and appealing to the eye. We and our trees are happy.
