I cannot recommend this cleaning service, and the reason is their slogan: “OCD perfection.”
Using a serious mental health condition as a marketing gimmick is not only insensitive, it’s harmful. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is not about being neat or “perfect.” It’s a medical condition that involves intrusive, distressing thoughts and repetitive behaviors that people feel compelled to perform to reduce anxiety. For many, OCD can be debilitating, interfering with daily life, work, and relationships.
To trivialize OCD by equating it with spotless cleaning is disrespectful to the millions of people who live with this condition. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 2–3% of adults in the U.S. will experience OCD at some point in their lives. That’s millions of individuals who deserve compassion and understanding, not to have their struggles turned into a punchline or sales pitch.
A professional business should be able to highlight quality and attention to detail without mocking or misrepresenting a mental health disorder.
