Update September 2023: Still waiting. No contact from Salt City. Water damage is spreading and molding. Talked with many neighbors with the same issue. BUYER BEWARE. This company and its "former" names are a scam.

Update December 2021: We still have not made contact with anyone on the corrections needing to be done to fix the water damage in our bathroom that was here before we even moved into the home. We also still have not received the window screen that was promised in the closing paperwork. Dave is a joke, his company is the worst and obviously the 60+ people I myself have talked too about issues on their homes and myself are just not worth it to this company. Buyer beware, DO NOT BUILD WITH SALT CITY CONSTRUCTION!

Update December 2020: Over a year since we moved in and we are STILL waiting for someone to come and fix our water damage. We also have not received the window screened we were promised in our closing docs by Dave Munford. This company is a joke. DO NOT build with them unless you are willing to babysit them every step of the way or if you are okay with a company that has poor craftsmanship and even poorer communication. DO NOT BUILD WITH SALT CITY CONSTURCTION.

    Excellent project team!

We are building our dream home with Salt City Construction in Heber. The project team and lender (Justin at Loan Depot) have gone above and beyond throughout the project to accommodate our custom built home. Tammy and Jessalyn have been great to work with throughout the design phase. Shawn and his superintendents have done a great job executing our project and exceeding our expectations. They’ve been pushing for a fast completion with excellent craftsmanship in the midst of the current construction labor and material shortages. The owner Dave Munford has been easy to work with, providing us discounts on upgrades throughout the process. His team has made a huge effort to beat the expected completion date while staying within our budget.

Their Realtor Diana from Berkshire Hathaway has been great with communication throughout the project and her connections within the community have been an added bonus.

Great job putting this team together Dave!

DO NOT BUILD WITH SALT CITY CONTRUCTION. I have been in my home for 4 months now and am still awaiting items to be fixed. Items go as follows: Speckled paint on garage doors, hood vent sleeve missing, weather strip damaged on garage door, landscape, fence and gates are still not complete and were supposed to be done before close, damaged stucco, unaligned back splash from being ran into by Salt Cities subs, the list goes on and all items listed were pointed out during our walk through 4 months ago and was promised to be fixed inside of 60 days. The communication is few and far between all throughout the process. Buyer beware. I strongly suggest you do not build or purchase a lot from Salt City.

    *UPDATE 2/14/2025*:
It’s been 2 years now (we moved in October 2022). I would never recommend Salt City Construction to anyone I cared about. Find another builder. I can’t believe the additional repairs needed! Additional repairs=additional costs out of our own pockets!! Just today we discovered our 3rd water issue! The family room ceiling is leaking. The paint is bubbling. And why? It’s all due to a nail on the roof that was never sealed. And do you think Salt City Construction will do anything about this? They won’t. (The landscaping was a disaster, we’ve had to re-do the sprinklers their landscaper installed, they didn’t seal under the steps leading out the back door which allowed water to leak inside the house and ruin the basement ceiling….just a few things) I HAD to select at least 1 star in order for me to post this. That’s more than generous.

Our company installs custom staircases for Salt City Construction. They haven't paid us for work completed in December 2023. I would advise not doing work with them since they don't pay their subcontractors, K L Woodworks Inc.

I am still dealing with many problems on a regular basis for 6 years now. Now my driveway is disintegrating. It’s hard to believe they are not sued more often. Utah Contractors Board is completely worthless.

Had my trepidation's about building with Salt City after reading previous reviews. I decided to still go with them for price and location.

During the whole process there were many errors caught, salt city rectified most, but as cheap and easily as possible and not what was wanted/paid for. They forgot to put a roof overhang on the house that was extra. They put a window 6 inches off of center. They forgot to put in an extra gas line. They put in the wrong flooring. They messed up the 8x5 kitchen island and instead was finished wrong and is 7x4 1/2. They messed up my master make-up vanity which was extra as well for the way I wanted it. Just issue after issue and by the time the house was almost done I had no excitement left. I had to drive 2 hrs every week to "essentially babysit" to see what errors were being made. Like I said, most errors were corrected, but not to my standard and as cheap and easily as possible.

Final punchlist and walk-through came around. They had the wrong address listed on all our contracts which delayed move in. We were already 4 weeks delayed from all the errors. A window was broken, paint errors, they forgot the outside motion detector light, and the garage door is messed up and we are 2 months living in the house and nothing has been fixed.
DO NOT build with salt city.
