The technician was excellent at fixing and diagnosing our refrigerator's issue. However I was charged 275.00 for a part, that I have found anywhere from 50- 179.00 (OEM) online. I feel I was overcharged and taken advantage of, and won't be using this company again.

I've had refrigerator problems for going on 3 months now. I have been working with another appliance company that has been no help and doing half the job. Being extremely frustrated and needing someone who could help with the problem I called Famous and they sent out Ronnie same day. He was very informative, helpful and genuinely should he wanted to help. He walked through ideas and options that could help me get things taken care of quickly and the right way. I definitely recommend Famous.

RIP Maytag washer...
I got an error code on my washer while I was out of town. Family member alerted me to the issue and since I could not investigate myself, I had to hire a pro. Famous was able to show up the next day but the tech mis-diagnosed the issue TWICE. We replaced the drain pump AND the master control board (both took 5-7 days for the part the ship). We still got the error for obstructed drain after all this time (3 weeks) and by deductive reasoning, the failed part was a wire harness deep inside my relatively new Maytag washer. We decided it would be easier and less labor intensive to trash this unit.
Maytag was zero help. I will be avoiding that brand indefinitely.
Famous refunded me for the parts but they trashed the perfectly good parts that could've been re-sold with the washer. Seemed wasteful to me especially when I had to pay $700 for a new washer and could use all the help I could get. There are appliance repair freelancers that could've repaired this washer to re-sell used.
I tried to make things easier for the tech by removing the washer from the cozy laundry room with hookups (water supply, drain) and they refused to wheel it back into place to test the unit. The tech cited insurance liability but I find it interesting that an appliance repair company doesn't have the insurance coverage to install the appliances they work on. This was a MAJOR RED FLAG.
Although professional and seemingly knowledgeable, I would not recommend Famous to any friend looking for help with an appliance. Especially Maytags.
