Tree reviews in Sandy, Utah

We had a giant pine tree in our front yard that died. It was about 40 feet tall and needed to come down. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. It took about 2 hours from start to finish and the job was done. They cleaned up everything, including all the twigs, and left the main trunk, cut in fireplace sized pieces as we requested. The crew was friendly and professional. We are very happy with their work!

I would give 5 stars for the quick tree removal, but they have delayed stump grinding for more than 3 weeks. I even paid them the full amount so they don't have to wait for me.
I understand the holidays are coming up so they may be busy, but they could at least communicate that with me. They have given me no update or potential date and I had to call them once a week to remind them that.
Edit: Took a bit of time and communication but they got my stump grinded. -
Utah Tree Co cut down two large flowering pears for us. Great communication with the team entire. They were friendly, professional and fairly priced. I requested quotes from several competitors, but none of them have even returned my calls yet. I'm not sure if its typical, but they were able to get the job done less than 48 hours after I first contacted them. We opted for "leave in place" to save some money and they cut everything up for us to make it managable for us to remove.

Top notch company. Quick to give estimate, fair price, quick to complete work, professional job and cleanup. Worth every penny! Trevor and Ryan are great!

I called Utah Tree Company to get a bid on Thursday and they came the next day. They were less than the other bids I received and they could do the work sooner than the others. They told me the following Wednesday but then were able to complete the work on Tuesday. Fast and efficient. Left everything cleaned up and in good condition. I would definitely use them again and recommend their service.

Quick, professional, competent, and competitive company. Came out the same day I called and gave me a bid on a rental home that had two tall cottonwood trees that were growing right up against the back of the house in a small backyard close to other homes. The trees were taller than the two story house and were touching the house. I thought the quote was going to be thousands, but to my surprise it was only $750 to remove each tree. They came a few days later and had the job done within a couple of hours. Highly recommend this company and will use them in the future. I just wish they had stump grinding service. They gave me a referral for that which was also competitive.

They say on their website "Your Trusted Tree Services Company" but I can personally tell you that they are not trustworthy! They did come quickly and remove our trees by they also broke down our fence because they didn't want to go around it. They also ran over and ruined our front lawn that was no where near where the trees were to be removed. They were fast in a way but one of the trees could have been cut better not leaving more stump than nessessary. The other things is the owner, Trevor Taylor, quoted us a price for two things and on those two things billed us significantly more. He said he would fix the fence and he never did. He only said sorry about the lawn damage. He said he would at least Venmo us money back and after I shared my Venmo to him he never sent any money. I wrote down the quote for the first removal with a $500 discount but he rescinded the deal later saying that I had to take the deal that day only to get the discount. That was never said to me. He knows I was waiting on other quotes. They say always get at least three quotes and most services understand that. I choose Trevor because they were quite eager and really willing to come so soon. I could have waited a bit more and had someone else do the job.
I have a text that shows what he qouted on the second removal but he charged $250 more for that instead of $750, he changed it to $1000. He said it was a miscommunication, but the problem is they are not being honest. The truth is the owner never came to the job site to look at the damages. So he hides behind the guys he sent to do the work. He said he was going to make things right in some words but he never did. After trying to contact him for the last two weeks he now does not respond anymore. So, all I can assume is he's gone and will never do what he said he would do. I'll change this review if anything changes. For reals, you can't trust these guys! -
Overdelivered on everything that was promised. Shawn took a care of a Vinyl Double Gate the was badly damaged in a wind storm. He was the only person to call me back. Came the next day on a Saturday to get me a quote. Had the quote to me in 2 days. Once paid, they said the gate would take about a week to build. He’s had the gate built and installed in 4 days. Perfect service and great communication.

Our crane company was recently hired by Trevor to crane out some trees. The crane wouldn't work in the customers yard so he convinced an elderly lady next door it was fine to cut up all her trees in her driveway to get the equipment and crane in. I told him I wont be scratching our new $900k crane to fit it in and he said "Dont worry man I got you me and my guys will spot you". After 2 attempts to fit it I got it in. We removed the trees and I went and grabbed his guys to guide me backing out. Inching in reverse extremely slow I made it 30% of the way through the driveway and a guy starts yelling "STOP! STOP!" I pull forward a few feet, get out and I see the guard railing on the new crane totaled. 3 guys spotting me and no one seen the crane getting close to a branch and totalling my rail. After contacting Trevor he says "ill make this right" then after the manufacturer emails a new railing quote of $3k Trevor says "he doesn't feel responsible and wont be paying for it" although he signed a paper stating he is responsible for all damage to property and the crane if any damages occur. Now we have to go down the lawyer route.

I can’t recommend Utah Tree Co enough. Just bought an older home and out of everything we needed to get done, this ended up being the easiest. I called them and they sent someone out that same day to give me a quote. I paid that night and they had two workers here the next morning. Truly the greatest customer service, amazing prices, and great communication. You can tell they really take pride in their work. Would 1000% use them again.

Had a large multi-stem tree removed next to my driveway. The main issue was vehicle clearance, as mirrors were already hitting the tree.
The company removed the tree itself, but I’m disappointed with the final stump condition, cleanup, and overall communication. After I paid the initial deposit, communication about scheduling and when they would actually be onsite became poor.
There were multiple remaining stumps left fairly high. I understand that one stump was limited by the chain-link fence/metal grown into the tree, and I do not expect anyone to cut through metal. However, the other stumps were not directly affected by the fence and still appeared capable of being cut significantly lower - nearly a foot lower in my opinion.
Cleanup was also disappointing. Wood debris and sawdust were left throughout the area, and although I was told the firewood would be moved to the backyard roughly 20 feet away, it was instead left stacked on the driveway.
I raised the concerns and they did come back out, but ultimately they were not willing to work with me on the remaining issues. Now I’ll have to spend additional money and labor to finish what I they had agreed to do.
The pricing was competitive and they did complete the removal, but I was not satisfied with the final finish quality, cleanup, or how expectations were communicated and handled. -
Second big job we’ve had these guys tackle. Amazing job cleaning up our 2 huge sycamore trees. They look amazing and happy! My yard is clean and flowers undisturbed. You wouldn’t even know they had been here. Punctual, kind, clean, thorough, quick! Again, highly recommend High Climbers!

I am so happy I hired High Climbers Tree Care. I needed a very large dying maple tree removed due to bug infestation. I was added to their schedule the next week. They showed up on time and did an excellent job. I was very happy with their service and they are also very affordable!! Super friendly too!

Matt and his crew were honest and on time. The work they performed was exactly what the committed to.
His knowledge on trimming the tree so we could save it, seperated him from the different companies that came out and gave estimates. I would recommend them and will be using them in thr future. -
I got several quotes from companies around the Salt Lake area. Not only was High Climbers the best price, by far, they were super professional and great to work with. They did an excellent job on a pretty technical tree removal for a tree that was over our house. Would highly recommend these guys. Matt was super helpful and responsive. Plus, my kids watched the "show" for the whole day.

Outstanding Customer Service !!! The office manager, Mel, was super kind and helpful. This was a large project, which involved cutting down three large trees and stump grinding two of the remnants. Mel called me several times to inform me of every step in the process. Blue stakes was notified well in advance and I could tell that Mel was genuinely vested in the success of my landscaping remodel. Matt, the tree cutting expert, was extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful. The large and complex scope of this project, required someone who truly knows the art of tree cutting. Matt did an awesome job! He even ended up coming back to grind down one of the stumps a little further for no charge. My neighbor saw the quality of work performed and used High Climbers to cut down their large tree. My parents were so impressed with Matt and his Team, they hired them to cut down a large tree. Matt leads by example and has taught his entire Team to be helpful and tidy. Upon completion of the job, Matt’s Team cleaned up the entire job site and left it looking better than before the job started.
Thank you High Climbers Tree Care !!! -
Matt, Victor, Jaxson and crew all get 5 stars. They pruned the dead wood out of two huge pines, removed three 40-year-old pines and ground the stumps with no damage to any surrounding plants and lawn. They were very careful to protect my neighbor's house where many of the branches fell. Clean-up was some of the best I've ever had from contractors. These guys are meticulous and respectful which I really appreciate. I've used Matt several times over the years. He's professional in every sense, from an itemized bid with pictures to arriving on time as promised.

Great job by Matt and his team. I had 3 trees trimmed and 3 stumps removed at a great price. The work was done well including cleanup. Matt was very good at communicating with me regarding his arrival times for the estimate, day of service and completion of the job (I work graveyard so this job was completed while I slept).
Overall I highly recommend Matt and his team. I will definitely be using High Climbers in the future. -
We had a massive tree branch break in our yard and crush our fence and our neighbors recommended High Climbers. They were amazing to work with! We reached out to them and they were so responsive and quick to complete the job!

My dealings with High Climbers were effortless. I had an estimate on the day I contacted them. The cost was both reasonable and appropriate. The work was done within a week of having obtained the estimate. The work was finished and the clean-up was complete. I couldn't ask for anything more.
