Had Pin Oak come out and take care of a tree that fell through some property lines and unfortunately hit my neighbor's house. Their work is quick and extremely high quality--Joey and his wife treat their customers truly like family.

Had them return to remove another tree in my front yard and it was done thoroughly and cleanly. Highly recommend Pin Oak for your arborist needs in Fairfax County!

Joey and the Pin Oak team provided excellent service. Joey was incredibly knowledgeable about what would be best for the many trees around our home and the results were as expected. Horrible People who run a horrible company. Work and interaction happened in December, 2023. The proposal / contract that they supply is only applicable to their customer, not to themselves. They were supposed to complete 3 items on our "proposal":
1 - Trim a pin oak tree - done with no issue
2 - Trim the backyard trees - partially done and when I told them they didn't complete per the contract, they said they did. I showed them that trees in my backyard weren't done, they said the trees weren't in my backyard, I showed them that they were in my back yard, they told me I was wrong and they weren't in my backyard, which I again, showed them they were in my back yard and were on my woodline - nope, you, mr customer are wrong, you want those trees done, it'll cost you more.
3 - prune a holly on the side of my house 4 months later (in March, 2024) - not done and work cancelled.
Per their contract / proposal,

Payment is due upon completion of the Scope of Work. Payment is accepted in cash or checks made out to Pin Oak Tree Services, only. See below for fees applied to unpaid accounts.

As mentioned, they did 2 of the 3 items in the scope of the contract, yet they invoiced me after their initial partial work in December . When I told them that they didn't complete the requested items, they told me they did, I said they didn't... they said they did... so, after this round and round, I decided to cancel the March interaction with them... and, then, they decided to increase the initial illegal invoice so they could be paid for "work completed"... which wasn't complete and didn't comply with the signed proposal / contract - as they said they did extra (unapproved) work for which they were going to collect after they completed the holly. They then told me that if I didn't pay, they'd be tacking on 12% late fees... which they would add on if I disputed the issue... the legal actions on this are still pending.

We were very happy with Joey and his crew. We are repeat customers. They do such an amazing job. They are respectful, professional and hard working. I would highly recommend them. 👍🏼👍🏼

This is the first time I have used Pin Oak Tree service company, I think they are very professional with a decent pricing. I will continue to use them for the tree services in my yard.

Very professional from start to finish. Joey took the time to explain proper tree care and recommended services. He listened to all my preferences and captured those details accurately in the estimate. The pruning crew performed their work quickly and above expectations. I'm am very satisfied with the final results and would definitely recommend them.

2nd Time we have used Pin Oak Tree Services. Joey and his professional crew trimmed 3 trees that were close to house and took down another tree. A difficult job done carefully and professionally. Also a great job on the stump removal. We had neighbors comment on the quality of the cleanup. Joey's arborist expertise was generously shared with ideas for new trees that will not grow too large near the house. They are our go-to team for all the tree work. Cannot recommend enough.

Highly recommend Pin Oak Tree Services! I had an emergency with a tree down in my driveway (and had to get my kids at daycare) and they came out that day to help me. They are a great business and work incredibly hard. Really appreciate all the work they have done for us.

Great job on difficult trees in my small yard. I have several mature oak trees in decline, some right next to the home. Joey took the time to look at the collection with an eye to save what we could. He gave advice on pruning and which trees could wait or be saved. We took out 2 dead trees, and pruned 3. The estimate matched the work done with a large crew and pro equipment (lifts, cranes, bobcat, etc.). With a large crew the work gets done fast! The workers listened when I asked questions and fixed an extra branch I saw poking out. I've had a lot of tree work done in the 20 years I've owned my home. This was a great job for a good price. Recommend highly.

We couldn’t be happier with the work done by Joey and his crew at Pin Oak! They were professional, took care in how they moved about the property, pricing was fair, and they made sure we were happy with the completed project. I am so pleased with Pin Oak Tree Services. They recently removed a large, not easy to get to, tree in our backyard, and did such a fantastic job. We had a tree next to another large tree that needed to come down without damaging the tree next to it, our pond, and our fire pit. They were so careful with the removal, and so incredibly professional. Everyone was so friendly and nice, and our yard was cleaned up so well that if we hadn't had so much rain, you wouldn't have even known they were here. The only signs we a little mud where the mats went down for their heavy equipment. I hope we don't need them again anytime soon-but we will definitely use them again should the need arise. oh-and out of multiple estimates, they were the best price, too!

I think Joey and his crew have come three times over the years, the latest being this morning in snowy weather. I can always count on them to do a thorough job. They did a number of things, including taking down a dying oak tree which was between two other trees. They laid down a path to bring something that looked like a cherry picker. These are tall trees so they needed to get up real high. Piece by piece they carefully removed the tree without affecting the surrounding trees and deck. We also have this ivy that’s growing up the trees, so they trimmed around the trunk to kill it off. I definitely recommend them for whatever tree services you need.

We've used Joey and his crew several times in the last five years and so do all of our neighbors. They've cut down a few large trees in tight spots without any damage to us or neighbors' property, and cut and hauled away a large tree after a storm. All three tree stumps were grounded without issue and they've trimmed and treated a large holly bush as well. The prices are really good and I'm always surprised that they show up with a large crew and all the equipment to get everything done in one stop and ahead of schedule. Him and his guys are professional, competent, on time, and clean up everything so you'd never know they were there. Honestly not a single issue and wouldn't even consider calling anyone else in the future.

We are so happy we went with Pin Oak tree services to cut down our trees. We just purchased a home and these two trees were just bothering us as it was blocking our front entrance. We received several quotes but Pin Oak was the most honest and I didn’t feel rushed. Joey was honest and encouraged me to make sure with HOA before taking out the trees (I’m so glad I did) rather than just make the decision so I can avoid fines. Other tree trimming services told me just pay the fine!!! They came out today to cut the trees and we were floored with the equipment and people that came. Five men came with three trucks and the efficiency of it all left us impressed. Efficient, they cleaned up everything and left in half hour. We are so happy we found this great company! Now when we open our front door we see the street and pond in front of us, not the trees ;)

I’ve used Pin Oak Tree Service three times now. I’ve recommended them to my neighbors who have also used their service.

Most of the work involved cutting down trees that were probably 70+ feet tall. Some of the trees were within 20 feet of the house. I trust them with this type of work, they are very skilled at dropping trees.

The contracts I received have been very detailed. For me a detailed proposal of the work is as important as the cost. The proposals I have received made clear what trees are being removed with details of the complete services.
