I never really leave reviews but this definitely deserves to be shared and heard on every review platform available because our experience with Phillips Family Tree Care was so above and beyond our expectations. My husband and I had 3 HUGE trees removed by Brendon and his team. Our lot, like many others around the Virginia Beach oceanfront area, is a tight fit with the house taking up the majority of the lot space. Two of the huge trees had their trunks literally a few feet from our house and were taller than our house that is 3 stories (I believe one was maybe an oak and the other was a sweetgum tree). To be honest, I wasn't sure anyone would be able to remove these trees safely and I spent weeks researching local tree companies and getting quotes so I could finally have a hurricane season without worrying about one of these trees plowing through a house or hurting someone. Brendon came out prior to the job and was by far the most professional and knowledgeable person I had met with. He took the time to explain our options without any sales pressure and his directness was a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many other (meh) companies and home remodeling contractors beforehand. Brendon was THE ONLY tree guy (out of the 6 other tree companies estimates prior) honest enough to mention that Dominion Power would be able to cut the majority of tree#3 in our front yard down FOR FREE because it was within range of a primary distribution power line...AND Brendon even handled calling Dominion to arrange the service for us AND THEN he even went as far as to offer to come back out to requote the job more accurately after Dominion did what they could to remove that tree. Before PFTC even did the job, I was already really impressed by Brendon's honesty and willingness to take such initiative off our hands...AND THEN IT GETS EVEN BETTER... the quotes he gave us, both before and after Dominion came out, were WAAAAAAAY lower than what the other 6 tree companies quoted us and PFTC was available to come out right away to do the job. Brendon and his team were so polite and professional throughout every step of our tree removal. If we ever need a tree removed again, I will definitely only trust Phillips Family Tree Care to do it. Brendon and his team are trustworthy and phenomenal at what they do.

Phillips Family Tree Care Trimmed a tree in the front of my house and removed one in the back. They were prompt, professional and thorough. Would highly recommend for any trimming/removal needs. Very Satisfied with the price and quality of work.

I've used these folks for several years and a variety of trees and recommend them to anyone I know needing any kind of tree service. Brendon not only looks like a lumberjack but will work with you to preserve a treasured tree if that's what you want. I had a tree in a spot that didn't allow vehicle access so they climbed it and took it down in sections. Very impressive to see them read a tree for safety and efficiency. The crew had the backyard clean and neat when they left. Very nice and professional. Great for anything from limb trimming to complete tree removal.

Another happy customer! I had an urgent matter of a tree leaning over a bike path and some other work I needed. They took care of my leaning tree quickly and scheduled me in for the remaining work needed. As mentioned you will get a reasonable quote and a contractor that will arrive when scheduled. The team did a great job. The tree was gotten to safely, quickly, and the clean up job was amazing. They even helped us with a tree we didn’t originally ask about and provided us pruning techniques on a few of our trees. Very professional and courteous - 10/10 recommend.

I thought a tree in my backyard was dead and needed to be removed. I contacted two tree services for a quote. I felt the first company was all about making money. Not Brendon, from Phillips Family Tree Care. He told me he was an arborist, which I found out was someone who is trained and educated to protect tree health and properly care for trees. He took great care in telling me what kind of tree it was (Mulberry), that it wasn't dead and only needed to be pruned. He is very knowledgeable, professional and honest. I saved a lot of money and saved a tree. Brendon and his crew came out when he said they would and did a FANTASTIC job. I am very satisfied and highly recommend Phillips Family Tree Care for all of your tree care needs. You will not be disappointed.

Brendon and his team did a fantastic job removing several very large pine trees from my property. He takes extreme care in what he does and is a true professional. In addition to Brendon, he has 4 team members that work as a cohesive unit to ensure all the work performed is done in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. I was very pleased with everything that was done and would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend their team to anyone. Do yourself a favor and hire them!

Brendan and his crew from Phillps Family Tree Care just finished the removal of FIVE large/tall trees from my backyard. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the job they did. They arrived at the scheduled time and were set up and cutting within the hour. They worked in a very professional manner and observed all safety practices. They left my backyard as tidy as might be expected, replacing the disturbed border stones, and removing all the sticks and twigs that this type of work generates. They were very respectful of my property, having laid a plywood path from my driveway to the immediate work areas. Additionally, their prices are the most reasonable in the area. I do not have any more trees that require their skill and services, but I highly recommend them to you.

Team was very professional and was mindful of my property. When done I was amazed on the clean up they did. From the yard to the street and even got on my roof and cleaned that off! I was also surprised the leveled the yard where the stumps where removed so there was no hole. Great job and would highly recommend them. Thanks

Brendon and his crew came out to remove a lightning struck pine leaning towards my roof. It only took them about an hour to get it on the ground. I don’t even know where to begin. We had a neighbor’s large tree split and was hanging in our tree close to our house. We contacted Phillips Family Tree Care who was extremely easy to schedule an estimate with and within a day of the estimate they were onsite working 😀. The entire team was beyond professional, courteous and were exceptionally respectful of our property! They took care of our issue and also removed a second section which was on a neighboring property in just a few hours. One of our large tree split and majority fell onto our property and the end of it fell into our neighbors.. I contacted Phillips Family Tree Care since I saw all the amazing reviews. Easy to schedule an estimate was given quickly & they were onsite working . The entire team was beyond professional, kind, and very respectful. They took care of our issue and also removed branches that were hitting my roofing. This was by far one of the best experiences we’ve had with a company even after a stressful matter they were able to fix and make the property look like nothing happen. They did an AMAZING JOB!! We had Phillips Family Tree Care come and prune several trees, they did an excellent job including clearing up the area. Given our experience with them we have asked them to provide us an estimate to remove a fairly large pine that has several issues that will make it difficult to deal with but Brendon and his team are thinking "outside of the box" in order to provide us with a viable solution. If you need any sort of tree service they can provide you with good quality work at a fair price.

Phillips Family Tree Care contacted immediately after I reached out to them. They removed 5 tall pine trees from our yard. Removed the stumps and hauled away everything. Trimmed 4 trees od lower branches and pruned them away from the house. My yard. you couldn't even tell that they were even here. Professional, knowledgeable and so friendly. One of the best experiences I've had with businesses since moving back to the area. You will not go wrong by hiring this company, you can rest assure that they will definitely take care of you and your tree needs.

This company went above and beyond my expectations for removing 3 trees. I received multiple quotes from people and they where the most reasonably priced out of all of them. On top of that, they were able to get here the next day after I approved the quote. Very personable and extremely friendly. Like previous reviews stated, they left the yard way better than it was before. They hauled away 3 extremely large trees and ground the stumps down. Highly recommend this company.

Brendon & his colleague did an excellent job of trimming the dead wood out of our very tall trees. They also trimmed to raise the canopy on a few others that were getting in the way of smaller trees nearby. From the initial estimate, to completion Brendon and his teammate were polite, courteous and diligent workers. Brendon took the time to listen to what I was asking for and completed it as requested. They also cleaned up the debris from their work. Both of the guys were great to work with. We'll definitely have them back when we need more tree work and recommend them to others. Have used this company a couple of times over the past 6 years for removal, trimming and maintaining large trees on my property. The team has always been professional, the clean up is impeccable. I like that the owner is an arborist and he recommends what is best for preserving the trees.
