Constraction reviews in Fairfax, Virginia

We had an excellent experience with Renewal Homes Remodeling. Gene was quick to respond to our initial inquiry, which immediately set him apart. We had two other contractors completely ghost us, but Gene and the Renewal Homes Remodeling team were the only ones who took the time to provide clear guidance, thoughtful solutions, and realistic options for our attic renovation.

Gene put a tremendous amount of time and care into figuring out how to make the project work within our budget while still achieving the design we wanted. His expertise and problem-solving made the entire process feel manageable and well thought out.

The attic turned out even better than we expected, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. I would highly recommend Renewal Homes Remodeling to anyone looking for a responsive, knowledgeable, and trustworthy contractor.

Stop looking and hire Gene if you want top quality work and great service.  Gene and Crosby did a major renovation on my kitchen, mudroom, powder room, and laundry room.  Their work is simply beautiful and their process as easy as possible.  We needed some early hand-holding to get our sea legs for the renovation and Gene was there for all of it.  We were able to find our preferred design and style via Gene's foolproof method.  From there, Gene quickly got in sync with our taste and that really helped throughout the process because Gene's design suggestions were almost always the ones we ended up choosing.  We felt bad sometimes overthinking and rethinking decisions and Gene remained patient and thought through all alternatives with us.  Plus they did this major renovation under an intense time pressure (baby due date was coming quickly). They got it all done in a time that other contractors did not think was possible.  Do not hesitate to hire Gene and Crosby.

Renewal Homes Remodeling just completed a full bathroom remodel for us, and they did a fantastic job. From the beginning Gene was very understanding about our concerns over cost and was happy to present us with different options at a range of prices. The job ended up being bigger than expected because of the unexpected challenges of an old house (leaking pipes, a hidden electrical box, and a door covered by a wall!) that increased our cost, but we ended up with a fantastically improved bathroom at a reasonable cost. Crosby and team were outstanding, and the quality of the finished product made us very happy!

HS Services, LLC, replaced our front door with a new Provia door. The sales guy was very accommodating to our ideas and responsive to our needs regarding the HOA requirements. There was a significant delay in actually getting the door - no fault of HB Services; factory was delayed - but the installation was smooth. In fact, they discovered our threshold had rotted, and they were able to fix it on the spot for a minimal cost. All in all, very happy with their services and would use them again.

HB Home Services has done a major and a not so major but still really important remodel in my house. A number of years ago I had my kitchen completely gutted and remodeled. I still love it as we chose timeless kitchen cabinets etc. That project went so well that I recently updated my laundry room. That may not seem so important except that it is the first room that 95% of the guests to my home have to enter into in order to reach my kitchen or family room. It was important to utilize every bit of space and also to make the room not only pretty but super functional as well. Mallory drew up various room renderings for me to choose from. I then chose my new laundry room cabinets to match the cabinets in my kitchen from their prior remodel and then chose a durable but beautiful floor and quartz countertop to finish it off…all with the guidance of HB’s highly knowledgeable remodeling staff. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of both rooms and wondered why it took me so long to initiate the process. You can trust HB with any of your home remodeling needs!

HB Services did a great job replacing our back deck and railings. Their pricing was competitive, and the quality of their work was top notch. Jimmy, Kerry and the team communicated well through out the project and were responsive when I reached out. Thanks for the great service.

Martese is an OUTSTANDING Project Manager! He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. We knew what was going to happen every day of the process and we could not be happier with the results. He communicated very clearly and frequently about everything and kept a very close eye on the crews doing the work. He treated our home like his own. He provided a truly exceptional level of care and attention to detail. This was our second time using HB. I strongly recommend them for both high-end renovations and more basic work.

Hello HB Services LLC,

I just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with the results of my bathroom renovation. The entire experience — from Jimmy’s estimate, through demo and build was professionally and courteously done. Everyone of your employees was not only expert at their trade and did a great job of cleaning up on site every day.

Rudy was a great project manage. He was attentive to my design ideas and accommodating to a couple of the changes we had make along the way.

All in all, a very positive renovation experience and I’m happy with the outcome.

HB Services did a great job on my home addition. I would recommend them to anyone looking to enlarge or update their home. Our Program manager was knowledgable and kept our project moving, I was very happy with the finished product. Thanks HB!

Once again we used HB for some home repair work -- this time for kitchen cabinet repairs, and once again we were thoroughly pleased with their professionalism from beginning to end. The office staff, supervisors and craftsmen all were a delight to work with -- professional, skilled and genuinely interested in ensuring that their customers were completely satisfied -- which we definitely are. Thank you, again, for being there for us!

We had a great experience with HB Home Services! They took care of everything related to our bathroom remodel end to end. We will definitely be using them again for our next project.

HB Services are the go-to experts for all of your home improvement needs. They were a huge resource for my whole house renovation. We were so glad they were there for us every step of the way. No one knows more about Windows and Doors than HB Services.

Many reviews of HB Services talk about their quality work and professionalism. I have a different story. Hired HB to build stairs for my hot tub. To be frank, initially it was not a good experience. However, I gave HB A 5-Star rating because they followed up and made it right, without any excuses or questions. I was impressed with their desire to ‘make things right’. They removed the stairs they built and redid them properly. Many contractors do work and leave. HB backs up their work. I would highly recommend HB Services as a ethical and hard working company. We need more like them.

We hired HB to put an addition over our garage and turn our old guest bath into the new hallway. HB was very professional throughout the entire process and kept us as on-time as possible and kept us within the proposed project costs. When things came up that required our attention (because it's construction and things happen!), HB was quick to communicate and get us to a workable resolution. The end result is a beautiful home addition that has added both a newer aesthetic to our property from the outside and a masterfully crafted product that provides more functionality and living space on the inside. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with HB for our project and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a home project - small or large!

Lamar at HB Home Services saved the day today with his snowplow! As I was shoveling the driveway and working to get my car moving in the snow, Lamar drove by with the snowplow. He helped figure out the best way to move the car and clear the driveway. He’s a Good Samaritan, kind man, and a miracle worker! Thank you!

HB Home Services built a deck with handicap access at the front of our house. We need the deck built quickly in response to a family emergency, and HB accepted the challenge. They did a beautiful job.

HB Home Services did an outstanding job building a new deck for us. Project Manager Martice stayed on top of things and kept us fully informed. Carpenters Mike and Robert were skillful and hard working. Johnny did a great job in setting up the project and following through on all commitments.

I want to sing the praises of Miguel Duenas and his team who installed a new deck at my house. Of all the projects I’ve done on my house, this one went off without a hitch, and that’s thanks to Miguel. I really appreciated the fact that his team cleaned up each day and emailed messages and photos daily to show their progress. He was great to work with.

Very good overall experience. The assessment/measuring process went very smoothly, spearheaded by the chief installer Matt who supervised the project throughout. He remained my primary contact. I encountered an unexpected delay in project approval from a very mercurial condo board, and Matt was very helpful in customizing a series of requests for the condo powers-that-be. HB warehoused the windows for the duration of this process, thankfully. Installation was expeditious and done a day. Matt came by after the install to replace a window sash latch that was damaged during installation (and gave me spares) and to caulk a gap that developed after installation. The portal was useful as a chronological history and invoice repository. Marian was always helpful/available to call and to shepherd me through off-handed questions, and I usually got same-day responses from all.

Overall, highly recommended. My condo neighbors also had very good recommendations on their experiences.

Used HB Services for variety of projects in recent months to include a new deck, structure repair, interior painting, electrical and new flooring. Extremely pleased with outcome. All subcontractors were timely and professional. Site coordinator, Sebastian, was informative, timely, responsive and kept us fully informed throughout projects. So pleased, That we now using for additional project, new full house window replacement. Quality of work is excellent and fairly priced. I would highly recommend for any of you home project needs.

First and foremost- the most loving family oriented company I have ever hired to do work on my house. They truly treat their customers like family and their customer’s homes like their own. Looking forward to having them covert our basement to a finished living space this summer! Thanks HB for the amazing work!
