Landscaping reviews in Falls Church, Virginia

The people are always super friendly and the plants are super healthy. I love this location, I’ve never been let down with the plants or the experience in general!
-
High quality but pricey. Staff very knowledgeable and trustworthy. We were about to $50 worth of plants but they told us the incoming cold front would kill this type. Another place wouldn't have warned us.

Nothing but overpriced plants and they have a no return policy on plants which the cashier smugly pointed at their sign they have posted when I tired to return a plant I found for way cheaper and 5 times as big elsewhere. Please smugly point to the sign when I checkout as well, don't only do it when I try to return your overpriced items. Please check out my pics on the comparison!
I first went to this store and bought a calathea medallion for $12.99 I went to the Home Depot afterwards and found the exact same plant but way bigger, like 5 times as big for $2 dollars less at $10.98. When I tried to return the small little plant to them they refused to refund me and I can easily see why, they know that their overpriced and if you look elsewhere chances are you'll find something better. -
They have most plants and plant related things you might want, and then lots more you've never thought of or heard of. The staff is knowledgeable and the plants are of good quality. Check it out for yourself!! It is a pleasant place even if you mainly just want a stroll.

MGC has the best Christmas display and we stop by every year. Great start to the season.

Stopped by this place because I saw the word, "firewood." Reasonable prices. purchased birch logs and mixed oak. The fireplace is kicking! I am very pleased with my purchase & the great service I received! I will return!

So many choices and excellent customer service! Walked in not sure if they'd have what I wanted, but they surely did! Thanks Merrifield Garden Center for my new Bleeding Hearts!
-
Very helpful in how to take care of plants. Super nice and a wide selection of bulbs and flowers!
-
Love this place they have huge varieties of trees easy to find what you're looking for

Great place to get a new plant to attempt to keep alive! It was incredibly impressive how alive and well all of the plants in the outdoor garden area.
Everyone was very helpful and offered assistance to anyone they were near.
I'll never go back to a home Depot or Lowes garden center after this. -
This is a beautiful garden center! Lots of inspiration and hopes to have my own garden one day ⛲️🪴

Great selection, good service, easy place to grab a couple of bags of mulch, just a tad on the pricey side.
-
Huge selection - they had everything I needed for my landscaping project, including some plants I couldn’t find anywhere else. There were lots of staff members working who were very friendly and helpful.
-
Huge place with tons of different kinds of #flowers #nature #plants #life #trees #beauty #zen #outdoors #wildlife and flowers and small petting zoo.

This place sells a wide variety of plants, pretty much anything you want. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is an onsite advisor who is very knowledgeable and provided us with useful information. Price seems reasonable. They also provide plastic covers for your car to keep the dirt from spreading. Plenty of parking but can be busy and packed on weekends. Kids really enjoyed seeing water plants, e.g. water lily, and gold fish.

** Update: Just got off the phone with Bobby at Meadow Farm Nurseries who introduced himself on answering the phone and found what I was looking for... Moral to the story, you might not even have what I need in stock but attitude and shady call backs, that gets you a comprehensive review.
*Update: And minutes later, for unknown reasons, they just called my number back and did not say a word... Can I rate a half star or less?
I just called, interested in making a large purchase, the person answers saying the name of the business. I introduce myself with my name and ask theirs, with a disdain I save for those I knowingly distrust he simply repeats himself and asks if he can help... No, no you cannot help me if you are going to speak with a tone of distrust and disgust to a customer who has introduced himself. Small things matter. -
This is the original Merrifield Garden Center. The plants are beautiful and the staff is super helpful. This garden center is the smallest of the three; but, they are packed full of flowers.
Parking can be a little tricky as this garden center is extremely busy. This is a great garden center with everything you nerd for your gardening needs. -
Nice array of plants, but I went in there a WEEK before Halloween, hoping to get some Halloween decor or at least Fall decor. And the entire decoration section is filled with Christmas stuff! I would've bought Fall decor if it was appropriately stocked for the current season! And it really cheapens the feeling of Christmas to have it rushed so far in advance like that. So soulless and corporate.

Best selection in the area - so nice to have access at one place. Their high standards are apparent in their nursery maintenance and organization. They offer a wide range of varieties of oh so many plants and anything you might need that is plant & landscaping-related...make sure to allow yourself plenty of time at this gem of a nursery.

If you need mulch and need it fast, go here. Merrifield Garden Center can provide you with quick service and deliver the mulch straight to your car. We got 6 bags of hardwood mulch and were in and out in 5 minutes flat... Can't beat that!

This review is based solely on the purchase of one christmas tree.
The good:
Excellent selection of trees and service. Trees were all gorgeous and fully unwrapped so you can get a full look at it. I came here on December 5th after trying multiple tree farms and Home Depot, all with questionable looking trees. The worst trees here at Merrifield looked much better than the best trees at the tree farms or Home Depot. Staff was very attentive and helpful. It was a hands off process, you pick the tree, they do everything. Well worth the slightly higher costs of trees here.
The bad:
I selected a gorgeous 8’ Douglas Fir, probably the most picture perfect tree I had ever purchased. After picking it, the attendant took the tree and told me he would trim the bottom branches and make a fresh cut while I went inside to pay. After I got the tree home, I immediately got the tree in water within 60 minutes. The tree drank some water within the first day and then stopped drinking water entirely. The tree had rapidly dried, and the branches all started to droop well before Christmas. I’ve been desperately trying to keep the tree hydrated and presentable just enough to make it to Christmas. Added preservatives, drilled desperation holes, lightened up ornament weight, pulled out the ribbon, etc. All of the trees I’ve had in years past drank plenty of water, had to fill every 3 days or so, and made it to Christmas and well past New Years perfectly fine. This is the first tree I’ve had that has given up on life almost immediately and will barely make it to Christmas. Not sure if maybe the cut wasn’t made or not well enough. Or maybe the tree wasn’t fresh? (I don’t know that much about trees). Also notable that this tree seems to be absent of sap.
Again, would be worth the cost and would be a 5 star rating if the tree hadn’t died prematurely. Maybe I just got a lemon tree.
