I had a truly wonderful experience working with Nova Solar.

From the initial stages of project planning through the installation, the Nova Solar team was extremely helpful, gave accurate estimates, and performed the work exactly as promised. They truly went above and beyond following the installation, by providing additional support several months after the installation. Everyone I interacted with was always timely, friendly, and professional.

I have had my share of working with frustrating contractors, but working with Nova Solar couldn't have gone better. I don't think you could find a better team to work with to figure out a solar array for your home. 10/10, would recommend.

Had several companies in my initial solar panel search, but Nova Solar very quickly became top choice.

Everything top to bottom was just incredible: their rapid responsiveness, openness during every step of the process, willingness to answer any and all questions, and just plain being nice. Every one of their members were super knowledgeable and helpful. I've even had a few smaller problems arise after install that they have been very quick and understanding in both helping me understand and fix them outright.

Barklie and his entire crew are phenomenal. You should absolutely only choose Nova Solar if you're even remotely curious about a solar install.

When I decided to install solar panels at our Fairfax county home, I had several criteria for the company I would select: technical expertise; locally owned; a good reputation; and a company that did the design and installation itself, and did not contract out any of the work. Nova Solar clearly met all these criteria. I found that they are a local company, not a franchise, in business for many years, with an excellent reputation. My first phone conversation with Barklie was quite long. I had already looked at the technical specifications for the panels and inverters Nova Solar used, and those that other companies used. I asked many technical questions about the hardware they offered, what specifically he recommended for our house and why, what my other options were, etc. It was clear to me from this conversation with Barklie that he had a very in-depth knowledge of solar equipment, the installation process, and the process of getting a solar system approved by the county. I was also assured that Nova Solar employees would be doing the design and installation of the system. Jake, our project manager kept me informed of the progress with the design, and the status of the permit application. A last-minute change in the position of the panels to accommodate a sun tunnel was easily accommodated. The installation went very smoothly, and was completed in less than a day. All my questions about the electrical connections, location of wires, and the monitoring system were answered in detail. A few questions came up after the system started to produce energy. My e-mails to Jake were all answered very promptly and to my complete satisfaction. All the people at Nova Solar are very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I have been very satisfied by the system they installed, and have no hesitation in recommending Nova Solar to anyone interested in solar energy for their home.

Nova Solar gave a very competitive offer once contacted after giving some basic information and my energy usage history. They were responsive to any questions I had before committing to a solar system, and were never pushy. Once the process started they were in constant contact through the entire process, including checking in while waiting for the county to finish with permits. In addition, the document preparation, from HOA approvals to SRECs Markets to tax forms was incredibly helpful, and I had to do almost nothing. The installation was relatively fast, done in about half a day.

Nova Solar did an amazing job installing my new panels. Cody and Trip my electrician and install team lead were very professional and friendly. They had the entire job done in less than 6 hours. Jake my sales manager was very helpful walked me through the process and loan process. Great company all around!!

The installation from Nova Solar did an outstanding job installing my ground mounted system. This was no easy job as I live in more of a mountain area so they had a lot of bigger rocks to deal with while trenching. Never once did I hear the team complain. The quality of their work was excellent and they went above and beyond to make sure my system was installed properly. If you are planning to get solar, roof or ground mounted, this is the company to go with.

We had a very positive experience in working with the team at NOVA on the installation of solar panels on our home. Throughout the process beginning with the decision of whether to install solar panels through the design and installation of the system, the team at NOVA were smart, professional, committed to doing a good job and a pleasure to work with. They provided prompt and well informed responses to our questions, worked with us to set up a system that was tailored to our needs and overall provided us excellent service.

These guys at Nova Solar are absolutely AWESOME! I searched everywhere for a solar company, through dozens in fact; all of which made me feel as if I was just dollar signs to them, and they seemed somewhat shady. Nova Solar did not make me feel that way at all. They were knowledgeable, up front, and honest the whole way through. They were super professional, friendly, easy to work with, and their care and attention to detail is impeccable. Nova Solar even took the time to hide all the wiring in the attic (which most solar companies charge more for). Nova Solar installers actually told me they would treat my home as it was their own, and they absolutely did. Solar is going up all over my neighborhood, but my home has the cleanest install of them all. Everyone else has metal conduit across their roofs or down the entire side of their home (or both) from the attic down to the outside meter; I don't. My solar array done by Nova Solar by looks better by far than any install I've seen in my neighborhood. Nova Solar is an awesome company, and the best part, they're local to Northern VA, and they do not subcontract out anything; it's all in house. I highly, highly, highly recommend these guys to anyone who's interested in solar.

After getting estimates from several solar companies, we chose Nova Solar for our project, which is now complete, and operating well. We were completely happy with all their work throughout the process and especially happy with how well they communicated with us to keep us informed of progress all along the way. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of the electrician who cleaned up a lot of the work done by previous technicians. His comment was, I can't stand to leave a job where the finished work would reflect poorly on me - a refreshing perspective when viewed against the work of most cable installers!

We had an excellent experience working with Nova Solar from start to finish. Each member of the team we met was communicative, knowledgeable, professional and courteous – even to the extent of taking their shoes of when coming into the house without being asked.
This was our first solar install in a new state and Nova Solar hand held us through the entire process; managing the building and electrical permits, the necessary inspections and setting us up with all the necessary tax documents. The instillation was much faster than I expected and looks great on the house. Post instillation Nova Solar sent easy to understand, helpful and detailed emails with final steps for us to set up and monitor the system going forward, and they were quick to reply to any questions I had about the process.
If you are unsure which company to pick, you won’t go wrong with Nova Solar. Highly recommend.

No surprises. The whole process from quote through county inspection was smooth and professional. Great communication from sales rep providing multiple quotes and answering questions promptly. Great comms from project manager regarding schedule and process. Project executed on time, exactly as planned and all permitting and inspections handled by Nova Solar. Incredibly, the actual installation of solar panels and wiring to main panel took 5 hours. They even sent a tech for the county inspection the following day in case the inspector had any questions. Roof looks fantastic.

Nova Solar did a great job for us. Our solar project went so smoothly. They are thorough and prompt on everything (appointments, county permits, etc.). They provide plenty of information and even FAQs. It only took one week after our final inspection for Dominion to change out our meter so we could turn on the system, which was unexpected but awesome.

I had Nova Solar install my solar panels in July 2021. From the initial call and throughout the process the communication was outstanding. It was explained what the process would be and that’s what they did.

The day of installation the crew was here early morning and was done early afternoon. I’ve had no issues with the panels or installation.

A few times the app disconnected due to storms and LB or someone from his crew responded quickly and helped me get back online.

I’ve been very pleased with the decision to go with them for my solar panels and would highly recommend them to anyone in the future.

Nova Solar was incredible. They held our hand every step of the way, were available every time we had a question or concern, moved up the installation date to accommodate our schedule and were very organized with paper work and documentation. I rarely (make that never) write reviews, but I am compelled to urge anyone contemplating a residential solar installation to contact Nova Solar. This is an excellent operation from start to finish.
First, Nova Solar has no sales staff. They are a small family owned business based in Northern Virginia. When you contact Nova Solar you will be speaking with one of the principals from the get go, most likely Barklie or Trip. Nova Solar will detail one person as your contact and this person has direct hands on experience with analysis of your solar potential, design of your system (including aesthetic considerations), permitting, installation, and connection to the grid. Unlike a salesperson, you will never hear “I”ll get back to you after I talk to our (fill in the blank)”. And the person with whom you have gone through this major home improvement decision will be there, up on your roof, when it is time to install. The only down side to this is your contact might not pick up the phone right away when you call. This is because he is up on a roof doing an install. I will gladly wait an hour for a call back to talk to a guy who knows what he is talking about, because he DOES what he is talking about. During my due diligence, I interacted with a larger multistate solar company. My phone is still full of messages and texts from sales people doing a hard sell. Nova Solar will answer your questions and leave you to decide if and when to go forward with such a major decision about your home…a decision that can’t easily be undone.
Second, Nova Solar installs what I believe to be top of the line equipment. During my due diligence it became apparent that many residential solar companies install panels from their preferred supplier. My research indicated the panels Nova Solar is installing are more powerful, durable, and robust. They cost a bit more per panel, but the increased power per panel meant fewer panels for my installation and hence lower overall cost with a longer life expectance. It is wise to do some research on this just as you would with a car. You can trade in a car you’re not happy with. This purchase will be securely bolted on your home.
Third, the Nova Solar crew (including my dedicated contact person) showed up to the minute they said they would, took remarkable care with a challenging install on a steeply pitched roof, and finished in one day as they said they would, leaving my property cleaner than they found it. The one minor hitch in the install was handled quicker than anticipated without me chasing them down. They clearly care about the quality of their work.
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with these guys.
And it was kind of nice to have two guys with MBAs up on my roof.
