General Contractor reviews in Mechanicsville, Virginia

Very professional, passion for getting the job done well and fast

On 295 with of the service trucks and almost ran me the road granted I was already doing 80 mph. I understand urgent calls but I do want to make to my destinations unscathed

We're very happy with our new three-season room from Open Air Escapes. Buddy worked closely with us to transform a dated screen room into a bright, maintenance-free room for year round enjoyment and entertaining. The crew was incredibly skilled, keeping the job site tidy and keeping us informed daily. If you want a space that feels connected to the outdoors but is fully protected from the elements, I highly recommend them. We’d hire them again for future projects!

Amazing company and beautiful results on our deck. We would highly recommended Open Air Escapes!

All work was very professionally done. Mechanics were extremely skilled and worked so well together. Clean up daily was always part of their focus at the end of each day and that was always appreciated. Attention to details, doing it the right way led to a renovation that we can be very happy with! I would strongly recommend Open Air Escapes to anyone looking for reliable, professional and skilled laborers for their next project.

Buddy and his team did a fantastic job in replacing our old deck with a screened porch. He was very collaborative throughout the entire process, keeping us up to speed on what to expect each day and did a good job of explaining why he was recommending certain design options. The crew was fantastic to work with as well, they were on time each day and went above and beyond my expectations their attention to detail. Would definitely use them for any future projects and will strongly recommend.

Buddy, the company owner, was available throughout the entire process. His team did a meticulous job on our patio and we couldn't be any happier with the final product.

I extended my porch. Buddy came by as he said, first thing in the morning. I was very happy with the crew. He is very dependable and he takes his job very seriously. Unforseen with the weather its been raining all morning so was unable to take photos. I believe Buddy took some.

I had this company paint the interior of my new home, install ceiling fans in 4 rooms, put dimmer switches on my can lights and hang all of my new blinds. Everything is perfect! I will be having them build our screened porch in the Spring. Can't wait! Highly recommend this contractor.

Cannot say enough great things about Open Air Escapes. Buddy and his team were so wonderful to work with. We are so grateful for the compassion and attention to detail for our project!

I recently had the pleasure of having Open Air Escapes construct a deck for my home, and I must say, Buddy and his team's work was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, their attention to detail and commitment to quality stood out.

The project was a 35 foot composite deck with 22 feet of it covered with a new roof and ceiling fan. I was nervous finding a builder that I could trust with such a large investment, but I'm glad I found Open Air Escapes! I had multiple quotes, but after talking to Buddy, I immediately knew he was the best for the project.

The team exhibited top-of-the-line construction skills, ensuring the deck was not only structurally sound but also aesthetically pleasing. Every aspect, from the initial planning phase to the final touches, was handled meticulously, and even though there were hiccups along the way with the county, Buddy handled them quickly and professionally.

What truly impressed me was their dedication to precision and craftsmanship. They used high-quality materials, and it was evident that they took pride in their workmanship. The deck was flawlessly built, and the attention to even the smallest details was remarkable.

Furthermore, the team was professional, courteous, and efficient throughout the project. They were on time every day even in the freezing cold and consistently hardworking. Buddy communicated effectively, keeping me informed at every stage and accommodating any specific requests I had.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the deck. I knew it was going to be an significant investment, but it was well worth it. It has not only enhanced the beauty of my home but also provided a durable and well-crafted outdoor space that I can enjoy for years to come. This thing is solid too, it'll last longer than the house! They DO NOT build the run of the mill deck, they built a PREMIUM deck. If you're looking for QUALITY, Open Air Escapes is the go to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services to anyone looking for superior craftsmanship and a truly top-notch construction experience.

I reached out to open air escapes about my dream of turning an upstairs loft space into a bedroom. During my first meeting with buddy, he thoroughly explained everything and made me feel comfortable with moving forward. Buddy and his team were extremely professional with timelines and communication. One major thing that stood out to me was how they cleaned up everyday after working. I have two younger kids and that made things a lot easier. Me and my family are forever grateful for buddy and his team and will use them again for future home renovations.

I enjoyed having buddy and his crew work on my house. Very friendly and particular. I am very particular and want things done right. Buddy and his crew made sure I was happy from the beginning to the end. I will recommend Open Air Escapes to my friends and family. I trust this company to take care of business.

Buddy and his crew were wonderful! I just moved in to my new home and there were a lot of projects to be done. They got them all completed beautifully in one day and at a very reasonable cost. I will be hiring Open Air Escapes again (and again and again)!

These guys did our covered porch. Would definitely use them again for more projects. They went the extra mile to fix issues from the previous owner so that everything was clean and uniform. We are super happy with the results, dont hesitate to give Buddy a call for you project

I would give them 6 stars if I could! I was replacing my large wooden deck with new composite decking. Buddy from open air escapes was very easy to work with. He listened to my concerns and offered ways to strengthen the deck. He and his crew completed the big job on budget and quicker than planned. They were very professional, polite and didn't leave any trash or debris. I got several quotes but I am so glad I hired them, I highly recommend open air escapes. We are very pleased with our new deck and can't wait to start enjoying spending time on it.

Buddy and his team re-did my deck and added a screened in porch. They were all great to work with, openly communicated throughout the whole project, and were super helpful to problem solve and offering ideas that would improve the space. Their work is beautiful and shows a high commitment to quality. I am so excited to use the space, and will definitely use them again.
