Each person I have dealt with has been so incredibly professional with great attention to detail, and all have been so patient and so pleasant in answering my questions and explaining what’s going on (they have helped us on multiple projects this fall). Attention to detail is not my strong suit so I really appreciate that they have it covered. I can’t say enough good things about this company and it’s employees. They were even so kind and patient and talented when I threw them an unexpected curveball during the last visit that I thought was an impossible request!

The team that came out as well as Matt was a pleasure to work with and provided instant communication and clear expectations to completing the job at an extremely reasonable cost. They prepped, completed, and cleared out the rest all while keeping a professional and clean environment. Will definitely recommend and use again for any more electrical or general needs.

Modern Electrical recently installed a generator. The whole team was very professional from start to finish. They left everything as if they hadn’t been here. Meaning, I didn’t have to go behind them and clean! With every interaction, Matt, doesn’t rush and make you feel like you’re just a number, which is rare these days. Matt & team did a great job installing several retrofit LED can lights in my older Fan Home. They arrived on-time, finished the job faster than estimated, at a cost lower than anticipated, and cleaned up their mess. What else can you ask for? Would recommend to anyone.

Matt was very easy to work with and quick to respond back on a quote for a ceiling fan prewire as he got back to me the same day I reached out to him. He gave me a reasonable quote for the work and was done in less than 2 hours. Other companies had quoted me twice or three times as much and told me that my ceiling fan prewire in my condo would be a mess as they would have to make multiple holes in the drywall and would take all day. Matt made 3 cuts in the ceiling and screwed the drywall back in place after the wiring was complete. I was very impressed and will be using Matt and his company in the near future for my electrical work.

Matt responded to my request for help promptly. I was happy that he could replace my microwave quickly. His work was done completely, in a clean workspace and professionally. On top of that he repaired my garage light switch when I made a last minute request before he left! A-1 customer service!

A repeat customer. I called Moder Electric for guidance on purchasing and installing a mini-split AC unit for our newly closed porch. Matt came and we looked at the area, size needed and options available, including wiring and mount options. As always, confirmed the appointment the day before. They arrived on time, introduced themselves and were polite and professional. The cost was within the estimated range and the work was completed. I highly recommend this company. I am very impressed with their business practices in customer service and they will definitely be my call first for all future Electrical needs.

Matt and his team knocked it out of the ballpark in helping us transform our thirty-year-old kitchen lighting. Matt had a positive and practical vision of basic improvements we could make in just a few areas. The results were amazing with new recessed lighting, under-cabinet lights, and a new chandelier fixture over the island! In less than a day, we saw major improvements that brought us more into the 21st century. The team was punctual, professional, and even cleaned up the entire area. My 3rd Post! Matt continues to amaze me! We are leaving town this weekend. My Generac Generator went offline on the Holiday weekend. I called Matt Tuesday, although he was booked solid for over a week he worked me in on Wednesday.
Generator is back online . I cannot say enough about the Excellent Customer Care and Expertise from Modern Electrical. Very difficult to find this level of service these days!

My 2nd Review Posting. The severe storm on Wednesday resulted in power loss. First time my Generac 18Kw Generator kicked in flawlessly and power my home until power was restored. A testament to the quality install by Matt and his Modern Electric Team. Professional and high Quality work throughout. In fact, the final inspection by Hanover County Inspections Inspector commented it was one of the best Generator installs he had seen in some time.
You can't go wrong with Modern Electric!

Modern Electrical.. What can I say? Thee best Contractor, Customer Focus, and Quality work that I have had in MANY years!! That's saying something in these days with Pandemic issues and labor shortages. Matt delivered exactly as his quote indicated. He installed a Generac Whole House Generator. I was amazed at how he coordinated the Natural Gas supply install with Absolute Plumbing

Great experience from beginning to end. While nearly every other company told me it would/could be weeks before they could even come out to give a proper estimate, Matt made the time to do it right away, listened to my concerns and answered every question. Quoted a price that was fair and more competitive than any other company had vaguely offered. Scheduling the appointment was easy and I really liked the ongoing communication with changes or updates to my appointment time. Marcus & Joel the technicians were awesome! On time, Knowledgeable, efficient and super respectful of our property (literally no sign their were even here other than the completed work) . Their work was excellent and they walked us through everything at the end to make sure it was up to our standards. Will 100% use again and already referred to others. I have already scheduled additional work to be completed in a few weeks with them.

We have been dealing with Matt since July of 2016. He installed our stand-by generator and has been servicing it each year since then. My husband and I are retired and we've both had questions we wanted to ask Matt about the generator. When we call him, he patiently answers our questions and tells us he's always a phone call away if we need him. I have asked him to install a new outlet in our hallway. It's wonderful to have someone dependable to call on when you need them. He's friendly, has reasonable pricing and is always on time! You can't go wrong with Modern Electrical.

Matt did a great job running wire and installing a new outdoor junction box for a flood light/camera, he also installed a "sense" home monitoring system in our electrical panel. Really neat job all around, took the time to do things right - very knowledgeable and good communication.

Modern Electrical’s service was outstanding all around. Matt responded over a holiday weekend when my DIY installation went awry, and he scheduled an appointment very quickly. He fixed a brand new faulty lamp and returned promptly to test another! Pricing was very reasonable, he’s friendly and responsive… and he recommended a stellar contractor to complete another project!
