On July 3, my AC started acting up. It would make a whirring noise and not come on. I then checked my neighborhood Facebook page to see which AC company to contact. HVAC Specialists of Virginia had several mentions and more than any other company. I then reached out to them using Facebook Messenger and asked if they worked on July 4. Late at night they replied saying that they could stop by my house. By that time I was researching if it was a capacitor that was my problem. I was also reading reviews of several other companies and even read the Google Reviews of HVAC Specialists of Virginia, which were all very good. I also contacted Costco since that guy always asks if you need a new AC. I then read that the Costco AC is more expensive and not as good. On July 4, Mark showed up and quickly showed it was not my capacitor and showed me what my issue was. My unit was 19 years old so he gave me several options and I knew it was time to get a new system based on everything I read online saying that AC units last 10-15 years. He didn't charge me for that July 4 visit and said I would get an estimate via email for a new system. I then cancelled the Costco appointments. For some reason, I didn't get Mark’s estimate, but Susie followed up with a phone call and I had the estimate sent to another email address. I got that estimate and Susie was also ready to go over the estimate via phone. I quickly reviewed and signed my invoice on my phone since Mark said it would take a couple of days to order and receive the equipment. My install was then scheduled for July 9 and Mark and his coworker were able to completely replace my system in 7 hours. Mark was professional, honest, and delivered on everything he said he would. I would definitely recommend especially since he’s a small business and not a big company that is always looking to make a profit.
