I wanted to double check with the application of potassium that my dog could go in the backyard after an hour. He was so accommodating to tell me to let him out then and yes to wait an hour. Very polite.

Never have I seen my lawn more green or full. I had Trugreen for 7 months and saw no difference in my lawn. After 2 applications with Virginia Green, my lawn looks amazing. Kudos to Virginia Green. The only downside is I have to mow it every week now as it is growing so fast. THANKS VIRGINIA GREEN! Lol.

Here's a picture of my lawn after at least 3 sprays. I understand the heat lately is gonna have an impact but I was expecting these broadleaf weeds to be gone. The grass looked fantastic after the first spray. After the second spray I started to have areas that were looking brown and it's been downhill since then. Some of this is probably just where I'm located but again, I expected more. Some of my neighbors lawns look fantastic. Still, it's better than last year.

He always does a good job of applying the product and commenting on any potential areas of concern. I have not
received a copy of the invoice, so I cannot comment on the price at this time. Give Mr. Chestnut five bucks!

Service is great. Keith is always very polite. He moves my dogs toys off the lawn before spraying which I really appreciate.

At one point, va grew was a customer centric company that valued relationships … now all about cutting corners and making a buck. In my opinion and everyone one I have spoken with in this field , they have mostly inexperienced kids that are technicians with extremely high turnover , they have destroyed my lawn which was lush and green when they started. They are too big and lost control of quality

Rob did a very good job applying weed control & fertilizer. He left an email message with information on how I can improve my lawn.

I’ve been with Virginia Green for two years and would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for professional and knowledgeable Lawncare services. My Tech, Khalil, always takes time to explain the treatments and answer any questions I may have.

I've been happy with this company for a while, until this year that is. Their services have fallen short this year. I have the estate plan plus I have them treat for poa anna-- $300 additional. First my lawn was covered in poa in the spring, so much so the tech noted it on his service report. nothing to do about it except wait for the high temps to kill it. Not a problem in past years. My current issue is my lawn has large patches of brown, looks the grass in a dog park. Had the agronomist out and he said fungus probably killed it. What about all my fungicide applications with my estate plan. "Well they are supposed to last 28 days but all the rain probably washed it away, too bad you didn't call sooner, we could have applied some more. I've had a dozen or so cases like this in your neighborhood alone like this." What can I do to fix the lawn then? you'll have to aerate and reseed the the lawn in the fall, at a price of almost $900 . He did offer to comp my next application of fungicide...whoopee! Kind like a fence company not fixing the hole in my fence and offering to buy me a cow after half my herd escaped. I am not sure what the problem is here. Maybe the techs are poorly trained in mixing or applying the products or the company switched products in order to save money. I would love to know. plenty of my neighbors don't have these problems and they are getting the same rainfall as I am.

Keith is pleasant, thorough, explains what he will be doing if we are home upon yard treatment. Our yard already looks great in March! Keith does great work. We appreciate him!

The staff has been pleasant & they will come out if I have a problem. I just haven’t been pleased with the results. Last fall the yard was aerated & seeded. There were certain areas where it looked like no seeds were planted. They came out & put some more seeds out. At that time I still didn’t notice anything coming up in those areas. In the spring the yard looked nice, but this summer it didn’t look good at all. In August I called to cancel. They came out & agreed that weeds had pretty much taken over the yard. The agronomist put something down for them. It killed a good portion of them which left the yard looking very bare. I agreed to get it aerated & seeded again. It’s been over a month & there are still a lot of bare areas in my yard where it looks like no seeds were put down. I’ve canceled for the final time. They were willing to come out again. I just don’t think I should have to call them back out everytime I get the yard aerated. And I don’t think the yard should’ve looked as bad as it did over the summer when I’m paying them to come out every month & a half to two months to treat it. The pictures are the results after the last aeration & seeding.

My neighbor uses Virginia Green. His grass is green and lush, however the chemical smells punch you in the face for multiple days after treatments from Virginia Green. The website says it’s safe for kids and pets after the application dries, but my nose tells me otherwise.

My wife and I have been long time customers of Virginia Green. We are giving them 2 stars here because their products work. Unfortunately, it seems they are getting a little too big and their customer service is suffering. If you choose to use Virginia Green, hope that Adam is not the project manager on your property.

My wife and I have noticed that Virginia Green hires temp work during aeration and overseeding season. You can easily tell who the temp workers are because they do not have any Virginia Green Apparel. We have a nice patio and a retaining wall with steps made with stone pavers. The steps lead to the back yard. Twice in the past 7 years, their temp workers have attempted to maneuver the aerators up the retaining wall steps instead of run the aerators up the hill to the side of the wall.

The first time this happened, the project manager was very apologetic and brought in a hardscaper to fix the damaged and misplaced pavers. Now, the first time this happened, the temp worker also turned on the aerator while walking the aerator up our driveway, which left marks up and down our driveway. This part couldn't be fixed.

Unfortunately, this all happened again in 2025. I saw the Virginia Green employee and temp worker arrive before I left for work. I warned them against taking the aerator up the steps and asked them to walk the aerator up the hill beside the step. While I was still home, I heard some commotion outside and ran out there to see the Virginia Green employees trying to pull the aerator up the steps while it was one (sparks flying everywhere).

This time around, it took a great deal of effort to get the project manager (Adam) out to our property to inspect the damage. Once I was able to get him out, he argued with me and tried to displace blame. Thankfully, he agreed to get a hardscaper out to the property. This hardscaper came out on October 4th, assessed the damage, and wrote a quote for the work. He told me that the quote would go to Virginia Green for approval. He also told me, as of October 4th, he had already done 20k in revenue from Virginia Green alone for fixing their mistakes while aerating.

I never heard back from the hardscaper, so I called his company in December 2025. I was informed that Virginia Green had not yet approved the work. So, I began calling Virginia Green to get answers. I have called them 3 times in the last three weeks. The employees who answer the phone are always polite and courteous. However, I've been told 3 times now "Adam is here and he will call you before the end of business today." Adam has not called back once. My wife and I have cancelled all of our services with Virginia Green and will be taking our business elsewhere.

My in-laws have also used Virginia Green. Despite marking their irrigation lines every year, Virginia Green always manages to puncture their irrigation lines. It's a yearly tradition that we joke about.
