Todd @TM Handyman Service has done multiple handyman services for me including installing a new ceiling fan/hauling old fan in the upstairs master bedroom, installing a new chandelier/ hauling old chandelier in the downstairs dining room area & looking at & repairing a half-bathroom vanity cupboard door & looking @a new smart thermostat (that he did NOT install/ installing a new faceplate & ensure all connections were operating to code. I highly recommend Todd McKeever; he is extremely knowledgeable & thorough; will not attempt to do anything he thinks he is not knowledgeable enough to do, & his prices are extremely competitive on today's marketplace. He is a five star provider for whatever service he believes he can provide; he will not attempt anything he thinks he cannot complete & very knowledgeable in his field. FIVE STARS OVERALL

Todd did a fantastic jog installing new vanity lights in my upstairs master bedroom. He is extremely professional, patient and a great problem solver. He saw that my previous lights weren’t properly anchored, which caused them to fall. He took time to ensure the mounting box and bracket were securely set before installing the new fixture. The result was flawless and I will definitely be calling him again for future work. Highly recommend.

Experienced and local. However, we were disappointed in results. Repairs on our front pillars took much longer than estimated which increased billing significantly. This, contractor did not complete work ... did not sand nor paint -- requiring additional expense for another contractor. Moreover, one pillar base now protrudes beyond/outside the slab.

When our garage door broke and tangled cables kept it from being able to close one evening, just before we were about to leave early the next morning on an out-of-state trip, Steve responded to our after 6 p.m. call for help, came out immediately and fixed the problem quickly so we could get the garage door shut and locked. He saved the day for us, and we highly recommend him.

I've known Steve for 10 years and he's the only contractor that has done work in this home. He is very honest in his assessments and logical in his approaches to fixing things. When he's finished with the job I know it is done correctly. His quality of work is far and above higher than what you normally see these days.

Steve came out to look at my house ceiling issue. It was more than he felt comfortable to tackle. He gave me honest and sound advice on moving forward. I would recommend him.

We bought our house last year (2020). During the house inspection, several items came up.

When we moved in; Aug 2020, I contacted Steve to help me with some of the items that came up in the inspection. He was able to come out within the hour and assess what needed to be done. His price seemed reasonable and fair.

Since that time, Steve has tackled most of the items on the inspection list and others that have came up after.

He is always extremely responsive, reasonable and level headed. What I like most is that he thinks things through to make sure the job is done correct.

Here are just a few of the projects that he has tackled at our house:
—fixed three toilets that were running slow and not flushing properly
—replaced rusting pipe under the sink in the powder room
—leveled and secured the dishwasher (the bottom rack would fly out of the dishwasher and the entire dishwasher would move when you opened and closed the door)
—fixed a place in front of the house where a brick was missing
—did some drywall work above our stairs
—replaced/fixed several light switches and outlets around the house
—secured the pillars outside of the house (they would move if you leaned on them)
—replaced a broken switch on a lamp
—secured a lamp that was wobbly
—helped build and hung barn doors
—fixed the low water pressure in kitchen sink faucet
—fixed all the stoppers in our sinks
—fixed an outlet so it is linked to the light switch
—fixed our treadmill (the upper control panel went out so we ordered another one and he installed it. The treadmill works like new)

Seriously anytime I have an issue I ask him if he can fix it. If he can, he is quick to respond and if he can not (which is not often) he is honest and suggests a different source.

I had a serious leak from my 2nd Floor bathroom shower. The leak showed up dripping from my first floor’s ceiling. I was hoping this wasn’t going to be a huge cost or renovation, So I immediately called someone that day.

Responsiveness:
Of the five “handyman Services” I contacted, only one of them called me back within 30 minutes. It was Steve from House Spouse. On the phone, I told him what the issue was... he was at my home to assess within a few hours that day. After triaging the situation, Steve suspected it was a faulty bath faucet (dripping back behind the wall). He setup an appointment for the next to repair.

Timely & Fast:
The next day, Steve texts ahead and was on time for the repair. It took him 30 min to remove the inoperable shower faucet, and install the new one.

Honest & Affordable:
Steve showed me the faulty part and charged me a reasonable amount for the work. I’m really happy I contacted him! I’ll be in touch for any other surprises and happy to refer him to my friends and neighbors.

I ran into problems with my home's electrical wiring after taking on a DIY upgrade project on my own.
I called Steve to get an outside perspective and his expertise helped me quickly troubleshoot the issues I had, and he offered several valuable tips in order to prevent other common issues that could arise. Well worth the time and money spent.

Best handyman ever! Steve is my go-to contractor since 2003!! His knowledge is extensive and is an amazingly creative problem solver. I ONLY trust him regarding home repairs or consultations. He knows what he’s talking about! He’s seen it all when it comes to what challenges Northern Virginia homeowners encounter. Steve always addresses the best long-term solution for his customer. He is straight forward and honest. I have been 100% satisfied will all the jobs he’s completed for us. As an aside, Steve does the best drywall work I’ve ever seen but he does not paint 😉!
