Contractor reviews in Sterling, Virginia

Jose and his colleagues finished a room in our basement as well as a powder room on a very tight timeline. Jose's prices are reasonable and his work is excellent and he is very honest. Jose worked with us on changes during the construction and additions. He was always immediately responsive. I would hire Jose again in a heartbeat. He and his crew are excellent!

Jose with J&J Home Improvement did a great job painting my entire garage and a guest bathroom for us, he also repaired a large hole in my wall and you cannot tell it was ever there. Professional job. Showed up on time each day, left the work area clean, and is an excellent painter. Also wore a face mask the entire time. Great find, I would recommend and use again.

I will recommend J & J Home improvement company to tackle all your renovation work. We are 100% satisfied with the work they did. They added a brand new full kitchen. You will be pleased with their work. They are honest and professional and also very prompt. The Owner Jose is very trustworthy and will go the extra mile to make sure the work is completed on time and on budget.

Fantastic company! Workmanship, punctuality, communication…all absolutely amazing. Have used their services twice for bathroom renovation and the results were great. Very impressed and will definitely solicit their services again. 100% recommend.

If I could give Jose and his crew six stars I would! Not only were they extremely professional, they were reliable, kind, and their work quality was off the charts incredible! I highly recommend them! I am a realtor and have an opportunity to work with many people in the community. Jose and his guys were absolutely top-notch! The final result of our projects were beyond my expectations! In addition to the incredible work that these guys did, they were 100% reliable! They showed up when they said they would, and worked a completely full day around the clock. I can’t say enough about how happy I am chose Jose and his crew! Six Stars!!!

I am so happy with the work that Jose and his team did to remodel our kitchen. I was shocked at how quickly the whole project was completed and the level of professionalism from the whole crew was top notch. They arrived on time every morning and diligently cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day to make sure there was nothing dangerous left out for my toddler to get into. I would absolutely recommend J&J to anyone and can’t wait to have him come back soon to do the master bathroom!

J&J Home Improvement exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Their team was punctual, professional, and meticulous—the quality of workmanship shows in every detail. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to anyone seeking top-tier home renovations.

Jose did a great job on the bathroom. He worked with me on the design and did great tile work. I was very happy with the final product. He even came back a few weeks later to install the sink since it was back ordered. I would recommend him, especially for a bathroom remodel

We have a house that's over 100 years old, and the old pine stairs were in bad shape. Jose and his crew replaced the pine with beautiful oak stairs and he worked with us to find the right color stain to match our floors. He was very professional and did a terrific job working with the quirks of an old house that had walls and floors that weren't exactly straight. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and their workmanship was excellent. We highly recommend J&J!

I used J&J Home Improvement for painting the interior of my home, main room, stairs and second floor. Reasonably priced, extremely responsive, and showed up exactly on time every day.

Worked with me to retouch spots that needed extra work, and were very professional. Also came with an account discount for Sherwin Williams paint. Full recommendation!

Update: also used for flooring. Quick and efficient, responsive to detailed requests and offered input on style.

Jose did a fantastic job. Redid my whole bathroom and all the floors in my house. Never late and went above and beyond with the project. I will be using him for any projects going forward. Highly recommended!

Great service, professional, and very competitive quotes. We had fire damage on our patio and needed it repaired asap. Nobody could get to the job for several weeks. J&J came by quick for an estimate and we scheduled two weeks later, our heroes! Put new siding on, resealed the deck, and replaced patio door and outdoor light and outlet. everything looks brand new. Cannot recommend these guys enough!

J&J Home Improvement Llc did an outstanding job on my property! They completely painted the interior and built a brand new deck. Now, the property looks brand new! Their work is neat, professional, and efficient from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with the transformation—highly recommend J&J for anyone looking for quality home improvements!

Very good experience with Jose and his crew. We used their services for a Master Bath remodel. Jose is a quiet guy, and I think he uses that silence to really listen. This was important to me, as I knew what I wanted and Jose didn't try to convince me otherwise or upsell other things. He knew what he was doing and was very organized with the order of the tasks to be done. This kept the crew on schedule and they finished exactly in the time frame quoted.

His crew were also very hard working and very nice and polite. They were always early or on time and often stayed late to finish. They wrapped the stairs and covered floors before work began and spent a last half day just to clean up. They swept up everyday and secured their tools at night.

I would definitely recommend J&J Home Improvement and use their services again.

Jose did an excellent job for us again! This is the second time we’ve hired him, and he transformed our half bath and accent wall beautifully. He’s attentive, listens to all my wife’s input, and works tirelessly to ensure everything is perfect. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend J&J for all household needs. The team was professional on time and did a great job!! I needed appliances installed and he got back to me quickly with a reasonable quote price. I look forward to using their services again.

Jose and his crew were great. I had kitchen remodeling. Although the cabinets and granite were ordered from a different company. J& J did all the prep work and demolishing the old kitchen. They did new flooring, dry wall, paint, new plumbing and power lines. They also installed the hood, microwave and mini bar fridge. Very professional and affordable.

Best company ever! I highly recommend J&J Home Improvement Llc, very good people and great service! I’m very happy with the results, more projects are coming and of course J&J company will help us along with our projects! Thank you guys !!

Jose did a phenomenal job in our kitchen. We had some water damage around our deck door and he removed the old wood floor and replaced with a tile entryway. He removed all the old caulk and ensured everything was water tight as well as replacing the door sweep which was dry rotted. He also installed a new backsplash which looks great. He is very detail oriented and goes everything with a fine tooth comb. I highly recommend and will be reaching out with future work!

Jose and his team did an incredible job, were honest, affordable, and very kind. It truly was his craftsmanship and kindness that really set him apart from other companies. They did an entire main level renovation for us and we could not be happier with the outcome. He provided an actual itemized estimate (which was very hard to obtain from other big name contractors), helped during design when we were stuck on ideas, was on time every day, cleaned up everyday, communicated well throughout the entire process, and turned our very small kitchen into a beautiful space that we love. I would recommend them for any project you have. We will be using them for all of renovations.

I’ve always said, you get what you pay for. With JJ Home Improvement (JJHI) , they are very responsive. They mat not be the cheapest but I would argue you get good value for what the local folks charge. Jose responded to all my texts, usually within minutes. They know what they are doing and show attention to detail. Jose and his crew installed a shower door and redid the tile. They removed the fiberglass basin and removed the bench inside the shower. We had the liberty to pick out our choices and they adjusted as needed. We had a mold issue that will not be an issue again. JJHI installed Durarock in the shower area but also applied a sealant coating. JJHI also made a recessed area to put toiletries. Not all contractors will do that. So, if you’re looking for things to get done right the first time, JJHI is for you.
