Reviews of local pros in Surry, Virginia

They did great work. Took a huge tree down no problem. Were friendly and easy to communicate with. We’ve already had neighbors asking about them and will recommend to anyone looking for tree service.

I called Luca’s about a small tree removal. They came out, gave me a very fair estimate and listened to the requests that I had. The job was done very fast with respect to my property and they did not leave a single stick in the yard. Very happy with their ability to communicate in the event of a schedule delay and with the overall service provided.

Sidewalled a tree that was overhanging my property. Very professional and respectful of property and utilized safety protocols to prevent damage to surrounding structures. Removed all debris. Very satisfied with the service and would definitely recommend using them if you have tree trimming needs.

I was very glad I called Luca's Tree and Stump to take care of a dead tree in my front yard. They were very pleasant, had the tree down and everything cleaned up in no time at all. And there were reasonably priced. I will definitely be calling them for any future needs.

I highly recommend Luca's. They took down a 100' oak from my back yard and removed the stump. They even pruned another tree in my yard which was not planned for. As they were working, three of my neighbors asked for their services because they know Luca's can get it done right. I will definitely call them when I need their services again in the future.

Alexis and Kody were amazing. We had 3 trees to remove. They gave a competitive quote, were great with communication, and provided an efficient and well-done service. Highly recommend.

When checking for a reputable company that could meet our expectations on trimming, pruning, deadwooding & uplifting three large oaks in our yard; we review all positive & negative comments, rather the owner responds to both positive & negative reviews, the number of years a company has been in business, photos of before & after, & if family owned, or a large corporation. Over 100 companies were posted on Google near us. Messages & emails were sent for estimates; only a few responded. Our decision to go with Lucas Tree & Stump was the best decision we made! Family owned, & in business for over five years & out of 43 reviews, 42 were five stars! Only one three star & the owner responded! Customer satisfaction was a priority to this company! We highly recommend Lucas Tree & Stump for the following reasons: (1) Licensed & Insured (2) Excellent service, communication & responsiveness (3) Price competitive, honest & trustworthy (4) Sets high standards; strong work ethic (5) Efficient, professional, reliable (6) Values the customer; proven track record of customer satisfaction (7) High priority on safety (8) Leaves work environment spotless (9) Went Above & Beyond expectations (10) Wonderful experience from start to finish. Look no further, Lexi & Kody is your first & last stop!

Kody and Lexi came and took down a tree on my fence line last Spring. They came back later to grind the stump and some grass-like things in my flowerbed.
I have never seen such hardworking people in my life! I was so impressed with their work ethic, professionalism and great prices.
If you need tree work done, call these folks. You'll be glad you did.

I had the pleasure to call Luca's tree and stump service 5 years ago and today I would call or recommend them to anyone looking for tree and shrubbery removal or pruning. I had oak trees removed in 2018 and 2023. Very happy with the work and professional experience.

After getting snubbed by another tree service, I gave them a call on a whim. I had one large tree encroaching on the house and another that needed limbs removed.

They got back to me super fast and came out to do an estimate. Pricing was spot on with the other quotes I had received and they were able to start a few days later (which was fantastic because I was at 4 months of waiting with the first service).

The work was super professional and on time. They were very upfront with what would be involved and about how long it would take, kept me informed every step of the way.

If you need tree work, save yourself the time and frustration of calling other services. Call Luca's first, and they will take care of you.

I am extremely pleased by Lucas Tree & Stump service and their quality of work. The price was better than a few quotes that I had received by other professional tree professionals. They also take great pride and checking over their work and cleaning up behind theirselves throughly. You can't go wrong by choosing Lucas Tree & Stump, you will be greatly pleased!

I got a lot of estimates to have a tree removed but I went with Luca’s and I am glad I did. The tree was enormous, in the corner of my yard by a fence and a shed, and overhanging a busy road. Luca’s had a climber safely cut the branches and lower them to the ground with pulleys and a ground team. Another company wanted to park a crane in my backyard.

Luca’s went above and beyond in its service and returned my yard to its previous condition. All at a competitive price.

After a few estimates from other companies, I decided to use this one due to their reviews and price quote. I found out after the job was nearly complete, that one of the reasons for the low quote was that they misunderstood what I wanted done. It would have cost another $700 to have what I actually asked for completed. Also, they tended to show up hours later, or even on different days, than I was originally told. Lastly, after the job was nearly complete, I was told at least twice that they would come back and blow the sawdust around the stumps when they came back to pick up their equipment the following day, but that never happened. All things considered, they appeared to do a decent job at a reasonable price and were always courteous.

I put in a request to have some trees trimmed in my back yard that were hanging over the house and all over the place. Luca’s tree service was the first to answer very quickly. I usually don’t go with the first call but I’m glad I did. Thanks to Lexi and Alex my wife and I absolutely love to go out on the deck and look into the back yard now that much more. Thanks for going above and beyond to provide us with quality service, all the way from start to clean-up.

These guys were great! We had two tree's removed from our yard this past week. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they also came back the next day (in the freezing rain) to finish a little more clean up. The value of their service is second to none! We definitely appreciate how fast they were able to fit us in as well as the timely fashion they were able to complete the job. We will be passing their names along to everyone we know!

We had a great experience with this company from start to finish.
They were responsive, fairly priced, interested in actual tree care and providing us the best service, on time, tidy and hardworking.
They removed two trees for us, both in precarious locations, and did it flawlessly.
I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family.

Contacted Luca's to trim some trees away from our house. Their price was competitive, and the service was excellent. They left the property as it was when they arrived--minus some tree branches. Hopefully, we won't be needing a tree service again for many years, but I will be sure to give them a call if we do.

Had Luca's Tree and Stump come out to cut down a very large, dead maple tree in our back yard after a few companies came out and refused to do it because of the lack of access and location. We could not be happier with the result and very competitive price combined with the friendliness and professionalism of this company. Would recommend to anybody looking to get any kind of work done in this field.

I'm very satisfied with Luca's Tree Service work; I had a very good experience with the team. I've worked with couple of tree services companies in the past and they were bad experiences but I tried Luca's Tree Services and they changed my perspective about Tree Service businesses. They were experienced, punctual, great personality, reputable work ethic, delivered all promised tasks from the contract on time, and cleaned up after themselves. Their price is also very reasonable in comparison with my other quotes.
I definately recommend this company to anyone trying to get some trees cut and stumped.

Luca's was great! They came when scheduled, kept in touch throughout the process despite rain impacting the work and completed the work on time at a good price. They actually had to clean up another contractor's work. I wish I would have hired them 1st. I would definitely recommend them.

We recently had Luca’s Tree and Stump come out to our property, and they were incredible from start to finish! Super professional, on time, and they did a really thorough job! They handled everything safely and efficiently and left the area clean afterwards. You can really tell they care about their work and take pride in doing it right! Highly recommend if you need tree work done.
