Should be called the Ghosting Doctors, they have PHDs in cancelling appointments without notification and forever giving you the runaround.
-They cancelled 8 appointments over 7 months and would never notify me.
- Sent the wrong guy once.
- Were dysfunctional to the point of inability.
-Had terrible communication.
Background is a third party warranty company selected this company to fix my tankless water heater which is also my house heat source.
It started pretty OK. The technician, Chad, that came out was great. Super knowledgeable and friendly, and was explaining stuff about my system to me as he worked through diagnosis. He identified the issue as a failed pump pretty quickly. He also said that my installation had some issues and needed some bleeder valves to bleed air out of the lines, that if I opened a warranty with the manufacturer they would require this in the installation to do any warranty work, and that my third party warranty would probably cover it. I said I will think about it.
Chad came back 2 weeks later with a pump and got my hot water working again. The next day I went to take a bath and the tank threw an error and turned itself off. I tested lots of times and found that my got water was fine if I took a shower, but I couldn't run enough hot water for a bath without tripping the reset on the heater.
Chad came back out to take a look and basically said as he said before, I need these valve things installed. I said okay lets do it, lets see if the warranty will cover it, he said ok.
A week later I had not heard anything so I call in to find out how the warranty authorization is going, and they said they were waiting on me to tell then to start. Okay, so then start, I said.
Over the next month I would call twice a week to check on the status and was told they are waiting on something or other. Then, they said the claim was closed because it had been too long, so I had to re-open it with my warranty company.
So I did this, and let them know, and then spent another month calling them twice a week before they finally got authorization.
Okay great, let's schedule the work. Three weeks later, the appointment came and went and they didn't show up. I called them and they said the appointment was cancelled. By them. And they did not notify me.
So we rescheduled. A couple weeks later, again cancelled on me with no notice. So we rescheduled. Several weeks later, same thing. And again.
So without asking, the lady I had been working with said she didn't know what was happening and put me on with the boss, he basically said that they needed Chad specifically for this job because he is the one with the plan and it will take half a day, and they keep scheduling the wrong technicians and only for a short diagnostic visit, so they just cancel the appointment. Without notifying me or attempting to reschedule.
They scheduled several more appointments with me and did not show up or notify me they were canceling again.
They did manage to keep one appointment. It was not Chad, and he essentially said "Well it's Chad's plan so bye"
They treated me like it was my fault Chad was on vacation when they scheduled him. And they treated me like I was being callous when Chad was in the hospital and they cancelled an appointment without telling me anything about why. I had no idea he was in the hospital.
This whole thing started in May. We get to December.
I call and talk to the boss man. He tells me that he pulled Chad from my appointment to send him to other more important people who don't have heat. I tell him my hot water is my heat. He doesn't care, says I have to wait 2 weeks before I can call back and reschedule, which of course is another 2 week wait.. I do. They no call no show again.
I give up.
I have to open a new claim and pay my deductible again and start over with a company that isn't entirely dysfunctional.
Furnace Doctors was a terrible experience that ate up so much of my time and left me with a half working heat and hot water system for 7 months.

Only used them because of our American Home Shield.
My only regret is that zero stars is not an option. Over a nine month period, this company wowed us with their incompetence.
It took that long to fix our furnace. Each time a different worker would arrive, tell us we have a different problem, offer a different excuse and would blame another worker.
They say they would come one day, then would cancel.
This went on for nine months.
Finally they came to fix it. They fixed it!
It broke the very next day.
This is beyond ridiculous.
Also, shoutout to Samantha the customer service rep who never picks up the phone and is unreachable.
This company is a joke. -

Getting rid of American Home Shield and Furnace Doctors! Better to pay out of pocket. Washington State Energy has these guys rated at 4.6 is BS. Its been about 6 months of chasing furnace doctors and American Home Shield down to replace a Motor in my Boiler. Nothing but trouble since we moved to Washington. You cannot leave bad reviews at all on AHS complaints go nowhere with BBB or consumer complaints. People do not believe the ratings do more research! Check out Service Max Arlington Washington! Better Service reasonably priced!
