Chain Saws Plus is THE PLACE to go for Stihl parts, service and new equipment in the north end of Seattle. It's the last of the old time businesses along Lake City Way. There is no fancy lobby, just a couple guys who know how to fix equipment and stock parts. I bought a 15 year old saw from this place 18 years ago and it still works great.

Excellent owner, wont try to massage you into anything just tells you what is up and gives you a recommendation to fix it. Businesses like this man has are becoming harder and harder to find, would recommend if any work is needing to be done.

A one-man, hole-in-the-wall shop. I've been going there for Stihl parts & service for years and believe I've always been treated honestly and decently. A real find for chainsaw and other motorized garden stuff.

Bob the owner is a class act, has been working on Stihl products for 25 years, very friendly and knowledgeable, lucky to still have someone like him we can take repairs to.

Buying most things online certainly has it's benefits, but when buying a tool, nothing compares to talking to a professional in person and holding the tool before you buy.
I'm picky when it comes to tools because I expect them to last, but when my last two trimmers (both bought online, both with glowing reviews) where transformed into useless detritus by my particular yard, I decided to invest in a tool that could handle the job. I could have bought one online, but I'm glad I made the choice to buy local and talk to the owner of Chain Saws Plus. He not only sells stihl tools, he repairs them, and he pointed me to the right trimmer for my particular needs, he even fired it up and showed me the in's and outs of proper maintenance. I'm now a new life long customer, and will take my stihl chain saws to him for service, which they rarely need. Highly recommended!

Owner is a good guy, who does good work.
Carries what I need to keep my Stihl saw running great, and knows his stuff when it comes to repairs.

I have used Chainsaw Plus for years and I drive a fair way to get there as I have always been happy with the service and the price. The problem now is that they hardly ever open, and you can not get your tools back when they are in for service. I dropped of my chainsaw for service over a month ago, it is ready to be picked up, but they are never open. I even drove there twice, only to find the door padlocked in the middle of the day. I am not sure if I will ever get my saw back.

I took my 44 year old Stihl 031 to Bob's shop, the saw would not idle anymore. He rebuilt the carburetor, put in a new spark plug, and, for no charge, also replaced the broken chain tensioner. The saw runs great now. His charge was very reasonable.
He is the guy to go to if you have a Stihl, no matter how old!

This is a gem of a place. Rob is, by far, more knowledgeable about his Stihl equipment than anyone I have ever used. He understands the engineering and can repair everything himself. Chain Saws Plus is a major resource for our region, well worth the time and expense of traveling to; I do. The proprietor is also a most congenial guy. Go nowhere else.

Working for a tree service company based in Maple Valley we often need parts, repairs, supplies such as Bar oil, mix for saw gas, files, new bars and chains and occasionally a new trim saw, etc. Bob knows STIHL and knows it well. I've dropped off a couple of our Pole saws for repairs and was surprised that he had them fixed and ready for me the very next day. I do recommend calling ahead to make sure Bob is at the shop and didn't have to run off on a mission, but if no answer, he very well could be outside testing saws w/ earplugs in. He won't talk you into something you don't need just to make a sale. As a matter of fact, he's the first one that will tell you that you can get something cheaper elsewhere.

One of the best technicians I've ever met. I won't buy or take my stihl equipment for service anywhere else. He has kept my yard toys running for years. When I went in last week looking for the biggest baddest and most expensive trimmer. He explained to me that was not the right tool for me. The huge one I thought I wanted has tons of power but are not as reliable as the 91 so I took his advice and saved a few bucks. The trimmer he recommended has tons of power for all the accessories I tried them all within a hour of getting home I trimmed 50 feet of bushes with the hedger, switched to the chainsaw attachment trimmed a few branches that were out of reach of the farm boss, and cleared a bunch of blackberries with the brush trimmer attachment. I can't wait to try the tiller when it comes in!

I bought a used/freshly tuned Stihl about a year ago from this place. It has been fantastic! The guy who sold it to me went through how to start and adjust the carb, and other tips. Definitely recommended.

This shop is a trip back to when the USA was prosperous and 522 was a dirt road. The owner of this shop may come off as a little abrasive at first. That's mostly because he runs business the old fashioned way. Something lacking in todays business world. Mutual respect and the customer's not always right.

I've been going here for years now. I've never had a bad experience with the owner or his work. Very honest and wont sell you anything you don't need. A rare bird indeed. Especially if you take into account his age and being a small business owner in today's America.

Even when I found out one day that my saw's piston had frozen up in the cylinder. He still managed to take me from the feeling of FML to it's worth repairing and much less stress. He even went out of his way to repair it early for me.

Go there with a good attitude and don't be disrespectful and you'll leave in a good and satisfied mood. Thus knowing you'll be taken care of honestly, correctly, and a fair price. He greatly values his reputation based on that.

Came in with an almost 30 year old chainsaw on its deathbed. While it was not a brand that could be fixed in shop, we were assisted in getting the chain back on the the chainsaw for a temporary fix that did help get the job done that was necessary for that day before the chainsaw went away to a farm (RIP).

The service here is honest and friendly and the the shop dog was an added lovely bonus. This place is a must for chainsaw needs.

Bob is a great guy! I dropped off 4 chains to be sharpened for my Stihl 16" saw and they were done before I remembered to call. Great price for chains as good as new. I have a back strap blower, chain saw and line trimmer - all Stihl. Bob is the "man"!

They quit doing chainsaw repairs due to concern of liability. This is what he said when called. When asked if there is anyone else he would recommend, he suggested a nearby place. [UPDATE] I'm not making this up. The person who answered the phone did not sound like the owner. I will call again and ask to speak to you. I still have a chainsaw that needs fixing.
I'm giving you 5 stars just because you responded. It appears you're closed on the weekends, so it's hard to get a time to come by.

This is a real saw shop and more. You need your saw serviced or other power tool serviced? You came to the right place. There used to be lots of these small saw shops around, but no more. Except for this one. Your saw will get the love and care it needs right here from a professional and enthusiast. You found your home shop. What a relief to find there’s still a real saw shop around!

My 30+ year old chainsaw was repaired timely, and at a dirt cheap price! I thought the electrical switch needed replacing and so I was braced for a bill around $75 to $100. He fixed it with only $30 of labor! He could have easily put in a new switch - what would I know? Great integrity is on display at this small business.

Bob got my old Stihl chain saw running like new, and for a very reasonable price. I wish I had more equipment to take to him!

I took my saw into this shop to have damage repaired that was done when I loaned it to a friend.

Bob assessed the damage, quoted parts cost and said it would be done 2 days after the parts arrived. It snowed and the parts arrived a few days later than expected. My saw was Stihl ready for pickup a week after I dropped it off.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a repair shop.
