Having people in your home working can be a bit stressful, but Jeff McDaniel’s with JCM Construction made it comfortable and easier than I was expecting. Jeff is an excellent communicator, he and his staff were always professional, on time and every effort was made to keep the surrounding areas in my home clean while the work was being done.

Our 20 year old home was in need of drywall repair in the kitchen/dining room and upstairs bonus room. We also had the ceiling, walls & baseboard of the 500 sqft. bonus room repainted. (Many angles from the dormers and 3 different paint colors.)

The owner (who has high standards), reviewed all of the work throughout the process. Anything he or I wasn’t happy with was re-done immediately, no questions asked. (Self-professed OCD individual.)You will get an extremely high level of customer service with JCM Construction. (Rarer and rarer these days!)

The flexibility Jeff offered due to our work schedules and during the
Thanksgiving/Christmas period was another huge consideration on his part, I cannot thank him enough.

I have no hesitation in recommending JCM Construction Inc., and have already done so.

Owner Jeff McDaniel and his crew were knowledgeable, efficient, fun, and kind. The before and after photos tell the story. Don't hesitate to hire Jeff and his craftsmen for your project.

JCM Construction did a great job on a plumbing job in my basement where we had to replace a bunch of old galvanized Plumbing drainage pipes. They removed all the old concrete and then placed new concrete once the plumbing was installed. The crew was very efficient and a pleasure to work with.

We had two MAJOR projects completed with Jeff and JCM Construction. The first was a beach house that flooded last year. Not only did he come up with creative solutions to mitigate future flooding damage (hopefully the tide doesn't go crazy again), but he also came up with the perfect solution for installing a stairway to an area upstairs that we previously had no access to. Plus, the whole place basically went through a complete remodel. All the 1950's electrical and plumbing was updated, too. The new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, and upstairs areas are just stellar and have truly added to the enjoyment of being there.

The second project was an adjoining beach house that had basically become rundown over the years and updates, repairs, and improvements had not been made in a timely manner. Since Jeff did such a great job on the one, we all said let's do the other! Again, it was another major remodel. New kitchen, new bathrooms, finished off the basement, new flooring, updated electrical, plumbing, everything. We love it!! He just finished so we haven't "lived" in it yet, but we can't wait!

Jeff was always upfront and super responsive. As with any project, there were hiccups along the way, but he always took care of things and made it right. He always answered my calls and I always answered his.

I’ve worked with several contractors over the years and Jeff and his crew at JCM Construction are hands down the best. Jeff gives reasonable (not outrageous) bids, the crew is professional, respectful, and I feel like they’re part of our family now. I had several projects and they got it all done in a very reasonable amount of time…and best yet, they didn’t leave me part way through a project like a previous crew did.

They fixed some wood rot and gave me a beautiful new floor in my Airbnb space; they installed a new mini-split heat/AC system; and remodeled my personal bathroom into the mermaid palace I’ve always dreamed of. They are the best!! I’ll be hiring them for all of my future projects. Thanks, Jeff 🙏

Jeff and his crew did an amazing job on our new roof. We converted from a 1950s torch-down with scuppers to a 3-tab with insulation and gutters. It was a huge job with a lot of wood that needed to be replaced. Jeff's bid was not the lowest, but we chose to go with JCM because of Jeff's honesty, integrity and recommendations from a colleague. It would be very easy for a company to "reroof" by covering up old rot with new wood and you would not know until you had a problem later. Jeff was honest about the work that needed to be done to re-roof correctly, was always available to discuss options and his pricing was accurate and fair. His crew always kept the property tidy. We will definitely use Jeff and JCM Construction for any future project we have planned.

100% recommend, rehire and refer! Every person was a highly skilled “craftsman” not worker but craftsman. They did not cut corners, and they built to last, I was so impressed with every one of the workers and the owner. At any given time, I could ask any worker questions, and they were happy to explain or take photos for me for insurance purposes. These are the guys who take photos of their work at the end and admire what they have done. All work was itemized beforehand and I knew what I was paying for, no surprises!

This review, by far, will be the most complicated review I will most likely ever do. I usually give great detail on reviews; however, so much happened that I'm just doing a rundown!

First, let me say, Jeff, the owner of JCM Construction, made good on almost everything that went wrong when his first crew was building our composite deck, which means bringing in a second crew to rectify significant mistakes and issues. Our deck project started at the end of July 2022 and finished on September 3, 2022.

What should have taken a couple of weeks to accomplish turned out to be frustration, disappointment, mistake after mistake (pointed out by my husband), time wasted, invasion of privacy, and a ruined summer for us.

Both of Jeff's crews were polite and friendly; however, the incompetence of his first crew was outstanding.

What we wanted:
Large Trex Deck
Recessed Steps in the Middle
Set of Steps on the side

What we ended with was:
A Large Deck
*No recessed Steps like we wanted*
With a set of steps on the side

Significant issues:
1) There were no Drawings or Blueprints of what we wanted provided, which led to no recessed steps.
2) Need to be provided Trex installation instructions for proper gapping for abutment joints and stair stringer spacing (hubby printing out sections of Trex instructions and pointed out areas for them to read).
3) Miscommunications
4) No communications
5) Confusion
6) Incorrect measuring
7) Cutting corners
8) Incorrectly poured cement slabs for step landings (resulted in hitting the edge of cement and earth at the same time when stepping off).
9) Placing Miter Saw on the new deck material, tossing pieces after cutting them.
10) Some days arriving late and then leave early.
11) Promises of a completion day that came and went.
12) Excessive smoking, and although initially respectful, we eventually found numerous cigarette butts around the yard.

These significant issues resulted in the first crew building our deck lopsided with high and low points, steps to match it, and gouges and scratches.

A good portion of that deck and stairs had to come down; Jeff had to purchase more material to replace damaged ones, plus bring on a second crew.

Fast forward to today, the deck is completed, and Jeff did what he could to rectify the many issues, admitting to my husband, "it was a sh*t show," but he needed and wanted to make it right.

In our conclusion, this was not a great experience for us. We cannot say we would recommend this company; however, if you choose to use them, be excessively detailed oriented and constantly check their work.

Absolutely horrible. Late to the job, no communication, not all of the job was done, and now I find out that the leak that was supposed to have been fixed is still leaking. Don't hire this company!
