Reviews of local pros in Burien, Washington

Carlos and his team are fantastic. We feel lucky to have found them. He is flexible, hard-working and a great communicator. He was also really patient and informative with us as we struggled to figure out scope for our project. We will definitely work with him in the future,

We had JS Landscape prep an area of our backyard in advance of a pergola installation and did an amazing job grading, leveling, and building a beautiful retaining wall. Carlos was very responsive, friendly, and informative throughout the entire process. While they were onsite doing the work, we mentioned that we were having problems with our driveway as well - they offered to come out the very next day to level it out and lay new gravel! We will definitely be coming back to JS Landscape for all of our future needs.

These guys did awesome work. I got their contact information from a friend who used these guys and sent an email, and they responded quickly and were able to come out the next day to assess our project. I had a bid the next day, decided to move forward, and they were able to schedule the work for the following week. They showed up on time and did great work - we couldn't be happier with the results! Definitely recommend these guys.

Carlos and his team were very responsive, professional, provided high-quality products/work and all at a reasonable price. Once completed with the project they did an excellent job replacing grass/landscaping and even reseeding to leave the yard looking even better than they found it. We are thrilled with our new sprinkler system!

They repaired a failing retaining wall and I’m delighted with the result. Not only would I recommend them, I have every intention of working with them again.

Carlos’ approach to our project was what sold me. It was efficient which saved money while also being less disruptive to the surrounding area. In addition to smart design, the work was carried out with obvious care and attention to detail.

Complicating matters, the wall in question was on a property line so they had to deal with what was essentially two different clients. Carlos went out his way to have additional meetings with our neighbors and was very considerate and responsive to their concerns.

They responded promptly and gave a quality estimate quickly that met our specific needs. We needed 120 ft trench dug for our propane tank with sand on the bottom and to. We got several quotes and theirs wasn't the lowest but it was the most accommodating and they seemed the most professional and responsive so we figured it was the best option. They worked quickly to get ready in time for an upcoming propane tank installation we had scheduled. They left the place really neat when they left as well and we are really happy with the improvements we were able to make with your help.

Carlos and his team were fast, efficient, and did a stellar job on our turf install! The project came with some challenges for us. It is a small yard (18'x7') and difficult to access. Some companies flat out refused the job. We received 4 estimates that ranged from $4200 to over $7000. JS Landscaping was the $4200 one. This gave me pause as I firmly believe you get what you pay for. I asked Carlos about this and he explained most companies have a minimum amount they will charge for any landscaping job, no matter how small and regardless of the work involved. He was right. Thinking back I realized that all the companies I spoke with asked how big my yard was and immediately told me about their $5000 minimum. Incidentally, they all far surpassed the minimum, citing "difficulty of access". Well, I hired JS Landscaping and Carlos and his team cut down the wild brush that was blocking the alley to access my yard in 10-15 minutes maybe. Not so difficult after all. The job itself took little more than half a day total. I watched intermittently, and it was clear they were focused on the quality of execution. I ended up saving $1000+ because Carlos has that seemingly rare quality of integrity. I highly recommend JS Landscaping both for the quality of their work and for the quality of their character.

Carlos and his team are awesome! They excavated and leveled our backyard (roughly 1,700 sq ft) + one of our large raised beds that had become very overgrown, created curved mulch beds with snap-edging around our fence & shed, installed several rectangular olympic pavers, and laid a large section of artificial turf, cut to fit the shape of our yard. They started the project first thing on a Monday morning and finished that Friday. Everything looks amazing! Carlos was always very responsive via text and email as well. We would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who's looking into having some landscaping work done. We'll certainly be reaching out to them for future projects :)

If we could give a 6 star review, we would definitely do so in a heartbeat for JS landscaping. We have worked with many people and they are by far one of the best businesses around! The crew arrived right on time every morning, worked very efficiently throughout the day, finished the job before the deadline and his pricing was the best around. We are already planning on having them work on other projects in the future!

Carlos and his team were extremely effecient! They exceeded our expectations in all areas of the project. His team accomplished more in 1 day than my husband and I could have in 1 month. We had an old sprinkler system that was cracked and above ground. They move the system, installed a new system, and combined our two controllers into 1. We will continue to use Carlos for any future irrigation needs and also recommend his services to everyone! Thank you Carlos and team.

I had a piece of land I needed cleared (Trees Bushes Debris etc) I got a great quote from Carlos (owner) decided to move forward and couldn’t be happier I did. Wanted extra parking so I asked him what would be most practical and budget friendly. He gave me a couple options I went the gravel way. Great communication and hard quick workers.

Carlos listened to problems with driveway trench drain installed by another contractor and made suggestions on how to improve the situation. He followed up with timely demolition and construction, site cleanup, and advice on concrete curing.

I can definitely recommend JS Landscape And Excavation. Carlos is extremely responsive. He arrives when he says he will. He answered all of my questions. Understood what I wanted and went above and beyond to deliver a finished product that I am extremely happy with. I look forward to working with Carlos and his crew in the near future.

It was a great experience to work with Carlos and his crew. After coming up with a plan to improve our yard drainage, he listened to our input and made adjustments over the course of the project to better suit what we needed. We appreciate their quality work done in our yard!

Carlos and team were amazing to work with. He came by the same day I originally called him and showed me turf samples. He gave me pricing that evening. He was really responsive, professional, friendly, worked with our budget, and the turf is awesome. He showed up early and always communicated about his schedule. We had a lot of rainy days to deal with. After his turf work was complete we asked him to do concrete work as well and it turned out great. I’m picky, and he impressed me a ton! We’d love to work with them again and we’d highly recommend their services. Also, something to note - everyone is super busy right now. It’s hard to get people to show up and get work done. Carlos made it happen.

Carlos and his team were amazing to work with! I cannot recommend them enough. Carlos worked within our budget to help us come up with a plan to install turf in our backyard and went the extra mile to make sure it looked great. The turf/synthetic grass looks amazing. It is kid/pet friendly and has transformed our back yard. Also, they magically finished the job in half the time expected. Highly recommended!

Carlos and his crew made a French drain for our backyard. We couldn’t be happier with this project! It was easy to get in contact with Carlos and he is a great communicator. Very professional and finished in the exact timeline. He and his crew were very efficient and worked hard. It was evident in communicating and seeing the work done that he is experienced and knows what he is talking about and doing.

He and his crew were very respectful of our property and came back the next day to make sure that everything was cleaned up and put back the way we wanted it. I will recommend JS landscape to anyone and I look forward to working with them in the future. If you want something done right and want it done now Carlos will not let you down!

We hired Carlos and his team to put down a gravel pad as a base for a prefab shed, and they did a fabulous job! They were on time, professional, left the area looking clean, and they even moved a super heavy birdbath rock that was in the way. We’re very happy with our new gravel pad and will definitely call them again if we need anything done in the future!

Contractor filled sinkhole in front yard in 4 hours at estimated cost. In doing the fill they discovered a tunnel running from the sinkhole for several feet and thought it might be an animal tunnel. Moles can dig tunnels as deep as 40 inches so they are suspects. So the job I believe was bigger than expected but there was no additional cost. So I’m.very pleased with the job. They will add more dirt later if settling ochres as is normal. So 5 stars.

Fantastic experience with Carlos and his crew installing artificial turf in my yard. Carlos came out the same day we spoke to check out the area, and he was able to answer all of my questions and gave me a rough quote. He later worked with me a bit on the final price, and he and his guys were out for the install just days later. They completed the project in one day and it looks fantastic! True professionals who do great work for a fair price. I can't thank them enough for making it so easy. If you have a landscaping project give Carlos a call and at least have a chat with him. I bet you won't be disappointed that you did.

JS Landscape & Excavation did an outstanding job prepping and installing synthetic turf in my back yard. I was especially impressed by how quickly they got the job done. Within one day of emailing the company, Carlos was able to stop by my house to survey the work and provided top quality turf samples for me to pick from. The following day, he provided a competitive bid with a detailed overview of the services they would provide. Carlos and the crew were able to start the work exactly one day after I confirmed that I wanted to proceed and it only took them 2 days to get the entire job done. I could not be happier with the quality of work they did and their professionalism. I would highly recommend JS Landscape & Excavation to everyone.
