Constraction reviews in Edmonds, Washington

Turf Guys were fast and reliable, and we love having turf in our yard now! It is super soft for kids to play on.
Our one disappointment was that the estimate given was misleading about taxes and fees. The estimate we received had a line item for taxes at $0 so I thought they were baked into the price. If you read all the fine print though, it does say that taxes and fees will be included in the final invoice, but you're never shown the actual cost of these in advance. My fault for not reading all the details closely enough, but annoying that this wasn't flagged more transparently. Noting here so no one else is surprised when the actual cost is decently more expensive than what you are shown in the estimate.

The Turf Guys are great!
They were wonderful to work with from start to completion. They were very reliable, showed up on time and did what they promised. I truly love how our turf project turned out and would highly recommend their services.

Thank you Alex, Jolene and team!

We recently moved to a home that had large, sharp, gravel rocks and weeds for a back yard. The area that we wanted to have in grass was too shady for real grass to grow so, after an exhaustive search, I found The Turf Guys, and Alex Schmidt. I had estimates from other companies that were comparable, but what I liked about Alex's initial visit/consultation was that he provided ideas of other things that we could do to make the back yard polished, interesting, and not boring. He recommended a paver patio to cover more of the rocks and provide us with an additional out-door "living" space. That suggestion synched the deal. Alex also explained how we could gain additional level turf area by adding a couple of retaining walls.

We are extremely happy with the final results of our retaining walls, turf, paver patio, and I even had Alex install a long, and low, retaining wall on the street side of our property to hold a steep slopes mulch back from winding up on the sidewalk all the time. That retaining wall really polished up the street side of the property and we have received many compliments from the neighbors on how it puts a finishing touch to the property.

I'm including a picture of our very happy dog when she was able to go onto the turf for the first time. No more sharp rocks cutting into her paws!

The turf guys are a great local company to work with. Their personal service throughout the design, bidding and implementation was transparent and easy to work with. My project included adding both artificial turf, pouring concrete for a sport court and implementing sport court tiles. I found the team at the responsive, knowledgeable and fair. Regarding price, turf guys pricing was competitive and beat other companies from around the region. I appreciated that Turf Guys acting as the general contractor for the entire project minimizing my time getting to know the three various subs. My family is very happy with the results and are enjoying our backyard much more now.

The Turf Guys did an amazing job installing turf in my front yard! The whole process was smooth, and the quality of their work is fantastic. Alex’s customer service was truly above and beyond—super responsive, helpful, and professional. I’m really happy with how everything turned out and will definitely go back to them for future projects.

Out of 5 stars these guys deserve 6! Extremely pleased with the work done. They did turf installation and also some hardscaping with stone and brick work. Looks fantastic. They did everything they said they would and did it all very well. They totally transformed my front and side yards.

Great experience from initial consultation through installation. Impressed with the entire process and communication. Highly recommend.

Alex and his team are great! They worked with my schedule, were efficient, and then end result was perfect for this little yard. I highly recommend their services.

We are so happy that we hired Turf Guys to do our backyard turf. From start to finish, the entire team—from owner Alex to crew members Ariel and Mario—was friendly, professional, and a joy to work with.

In addition to installing the turf, Alex collaborated with us to build a retaining wall and removed a sloped area, transforming our backyard into a much more beautiful and functional space. Throughout the project, the team was punctual, kept all their promises, and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was handled with care and to our complete satisfaction.

I wish there were more companies like Turf Guys—so dedicated to their customers and so willing to work closely with them. I also learned about Alex’s inspiring story of how he started the company, which makes me even more confident in recommending them. If you're looking to install turf, I highly recommend Turf Guys.

Best wishes to Alex and the team—keep up the great work!

Customer service was top notch and very professional. Very hard working crew💪🏼. I am extremely happy with my new back yard.

Alex at Turf Guys was great to work with. They have competitive pricing and were very responsive. They were able to get me scheduled within two weeks and finish the project in just a couple of days.
The photos speak for themselves.

I encourage anyone interested in Turf or Hardscape enhancements to give The Turf Guys an opportunity. You will be very pleased. Alex and team were OUTSTANDING! We had them lay turf (of course) plus paver patios and walkways around our Edmonds Home. Thanks again Alex for going out of your way to make our home so beautiful and fun.

We recently hired The Turf Guys for a landscaping project in our backyard and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. We put in a putting green with additional fringe turf for chipping, 4 retaining walls ranging from 35 feet to 50+ feet with caps, a 35+ feet long paver walkway, plus leveling out an area in between the two new retaining walls for a grass lawn.

From the start, Alex, the owner, impressed us with his thoughtful and design suggestions that really elevated our original ideas. Case in point is my backyard has a severe slope. His suggestion was to add a retaining wall in the middle of the backyard to allow the putting green to be more level so the green can have realistic undulations. Another retaining wall was also suggested to allow a more level grass lawn on the lower side of the backyard.

During the build process, Alex showed up a few times to assess the progress, his communication was prompt and clear, making it easy for us to stay on top of the project.

Another thing we especially appreciated was their flexibility — as our ideas evolved during the project, they were open to adjustments and worked with us to make sure everything turned out exactly as we wanted. The crew on-site was professional, courteous, and took great care to keep the area clean, leaving no mess behind at the end of each day.

Overall, we’re thrilled with the results and highly recommend The Turf Guys to anyone looking for a top-notch landscaping services.

We recently hired The Turf Guys to install turf in our backyard, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From the initial consultation to the final cleanup, the team was professional, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. The quality of the turf exceeded our expectations. It looks incredibly natural and has completely transformed our outdoor space. Thank you again to the team for a job well done!

We used the turf guys to install turf in our backyard. They were quick to come out and give us a quote. Once we paid the deposit, it was a little hard to confirm an exact day for install, but they stuck to the general timeline they’d given us, and once the project started, it took about a week. I had all my questions answered, including how to care for turf, and they even came back to fill a few spots with more of the rockscaping. I’d definitely recommend The Turf Guys!

Fast and professional service - our project was completed within weeks of our initial outreach and we are extremely happy with the results. Our former mud pit of a front yard is now the perfect play space for toddlers and our active pup!

I like my backyard so much than before. It is a good spending.Totally a game changer. Now we spend more time in our backyard. At the beginning, we thought that will be $1000 project. Turn out 4 times more. But Alex explainned since our backyard only around 200sf, so per sf price goes up due to set up cost. Totally understood and now we glad we moved forward.Thank you, turf guys.

Wow!!! Alex,Jolene and crew did an amazing job transforming our backyard into a beautiful space. Not only the turf but all of the plants are trees. I highly recommend these guys to anyone needing Turf and landscaping services.

We had The Turf Guys install turf at my aging father’s house in his backyard. They removed the old sod, prepped the space including retaining wall due to slope. The crew worked so hard and very professional. Alex was extremely responsive with questions, slight modifications and excellent communication. They were done in less than two days! Beautiful work and we couldn’t be happier. The space is greatly improved. I highly recommend this business.

We received a handful of quotes but the Turf Guys came in super fair on their estimate, achieving everything we wanted for our yard. It was a tricky space we were never quite sure could turn into anything, and after the Turf Guys quick work, we are so excited to have such a beautiful backyard space to enjoy! They were quick, efficient, and I would recommend to anyone.

Turf Guys provided great service. We are thoroughly satisfied with the outcome of our backyard turf/putting green project and the precision work provided by the Turf Guys team.

I will add the design phase had a small mutual hiccup (mostly my fault for not carefully reviewing the specs) but the way in which the team handled, managed and corrected the issue was flawless. In fact, the project may have turned out even better than expected. Job well done and I would not hesitate to recommend Turf Guys to others or utilize them for future renovation projects.
