Thadd and his crew came and did a complete rebuild and update of my deck, including completely redoing the shape while using most of the existing structure, rebuilding the stairs, adding accent lights with dimmers, accenting with picture framing, and replacing the railing. The workmanship was excellent, and they did a good job of proactively reaching out to me for important decisions. Thadd had good design ideas and helped guide us when we weren't sure what would look best. We added a few things as we went (accent lights, dimmers, picture framing, stair riser layout), and he was reasonable and professional when working out details of the final invoice. He was consistently responsive and helpful via email. Highly recommended.

I found Thadd to be a voice of reason on a rather confrontational message board about composite deck recommendations. I was considering a number of options and I reached out to Thadd via email for advice. I was building my deck three thousand miles away along the coast of Maine. I thought it a long shot that Thadd would reply to my many questions as there was no business opportunities in doing so. But in fact, he was very gracious and generous in sharing very valuable advice drawing upon his considerable skills and many years of experience in designing and installing quality decking. His work speaks for itself. Had he been local, I would have very much welcomed the opportunity to work with Thadd.

Wight Deck and Design just completed a gorgeous new deck for us using TimberTech material and we could not be happier with the results. It was quite a large expansion with a fair amount of complicated angles and transitions, and every last detail is to perfection.
The crew was super professional, friendly, and very respectful of our household. At the end of every work day the job site was completely cleaned up as if no one had been there. They arrived punctually every day, worked hard and competently, and we knew what to expect during each phase of the project.
Equally important, the job was finished on budget and on time. Props to Thadd, Josiah, Rick and the rest of the crew!

We had a large deck and outdoor kitchen project installed and Thadd and his team were very responsive and thorough. The work turned out great! The project took a bit longer than expected, but every setback was communicated effectively. Many of the setbacks were out of their hands and they did a great job making up lost time and services.

I was very impressed with the work they did and their communication along the way. The whole crew was very polite and courteous.

We had a great experience with Gibson Fence and Deck. This was our second project together. This time, they did an excellent job on both our arbor and fence. The craftsmanship is fantastic. Everything feels very sturdy and clearly built to last. They were on time, very communicative throughout the project, and incredibly easy and pleasant to work with. We especially appreciated that the crew came up with a creative idea to improve the landscaping borders and steps along the side of our yard. Even though it wasn’t originally in scope, they were able to add it without adding much time or cost. The whole process was smooth and professional and we’re really happy with the result. They replaced our old fence with a brand new one in only 2 days. The new fence looks much better than the original as well. They do excellent work.

We recently had a privacy fence installed in our yard to block our home from a busy street in Kirkland, and it turned out even better than we imagined. The fence gives our front yard a sense of peace and privacy that we have never had before.

Damon took the time to answer all of our questions and really listen to what we wanted. But what made the process stand out even more was the crew on site. Jerry was incredible throughout the project. We had a large cedar post which needed to be fitted into a tricky corner of our yard. It was heavier than expected and the angle was awkward, but Jerry didn’t hesitate to solve the issue to make sure it fit perfectly. That level of care was consistent throughout the whole fence. He checked in with us daily, asked for feedback on placement and spacing, and made sure every detail matched our vision.

By the end of the project every board was straight, the spacing was perfect, and the cedar’s natural beauty really shines. The crew left the yard cleaner than they found it, and they genuinely care about doing the job right.

I can honestly say this was one of the best home improvement experiences we’ve had. Damon and the team made the whole process easy and enjoyable. The result is something we will appreciate every time we step outside.

Gibson Fence and Deck rebuilt our entry stair landings, and I honestly can’t believe the difference. Jerry was the one leading the project and made the whole process so easy. He spent time walking us through why Trex composite decking was the better choice for our stairs. It holds up in wet weather, doesn’t need constant staining or sealing, and is way less maintenance overall. That explanation really put our minds at ease and made us confident we were making the right call.
The crew was great and made sure every board fit perfectly, every step was solid, and the angles and spacing were just right. Jerry checked in with us regularly to make sure we were happy with how it was coming together, and he didn’t hesitate to answer all our questions, no matter how small.
Now that it’s finished, it looks amazing. The best part is knowing it’s going to last for years without the constant work we’d have to do with regular wood. Jerry and the Gibson Fence and Deck team really went above and beyond.

The team was able to complete the project swiftly and in a timely manner that was coordinated with our schedules. We hired this company to build a custom pool deck around our hot tub at our home and the results were outstanding. We chose Ipe (Brazilian hardwood) and the craftsmanship really shows. We had a very specific vision for the design and lighting, and they executed it exactly as we had imagined. The lighting adds a great atmosphere at night and really elevates the space. Communication from the crew was excellent throughout the project, and it’s clear they take pride in doing things the right way. We couldn’t be happier with the final result.

We worked with Gibson Fence & Deck on a new mahogany deck, and they did a fantastic job from start to finish. The deck looks beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent.

A special shoutout to Chuy and Ramiro—they were great to work with and super flexible. When we asked to deviate from the original plan and install new railings, they accommodated the change without any pushback and made it feel easy.

They were also the only contractor we spoke with who could handle the full scope of what we needed: not just the decking, but also plumbing-related work. They updated the garden hose that had been feeding our pond to a much more professional (and less conspicuous) PVC line, and they also got running water to our studio.

Overall, great experience and we’re really happy with the outcome. Highly recommend.
