Deck Builder reviews in Newcastle, Washington

I went with Emmanuel's company Wooden Gate Construction after receiving numerous quotes from other companies. They were not the cheapest option but I really liked his communication during our consultation. After listening to what we wanted he was great at explaining the process and what he would do to the deck. His demeanor was very professional and had a great attitude. After seeing pictures from previous jobs, it was apparently clear he is a very skilled in his trade. Our deck hadn't been re-finished in over 4 years and was in need of some love. Emmanuel and his team started promptly at the day and time they said they would. After the first day they had the entire deck sanded down and ready for staining and paint. He found a few planks that he recommend replacing and was up front with the price to do so. After the project was done we showed a few areas of concern ( a little bit of overspray here and there) and he came by the next day and fixed them. Our deck is looking great and we couldn't be happier! Thanks for the great work Emmanuel and team!

Just had our fence repaired. Emmanuel gives us a reasonable quote and did absolutely a professional job replacing one broken post and reassembling two sections back together. He also went to the store to purchase perfectly matching paint. I can highly recommend Emmanuel to anyone needing fence repair.

Was willing to work ASAP on a Holiday and at very reasonable price. Emmanuel was very professional and communicative throughout the fence build. Thanks

We love our deck. The execution was fast, beautiful, the team was professional and gave honest opinions to build a more durable deck and we really like the results. Also, the price is reasonable compared to other quotes we got! Highly recommended.

We were looking for contractors to install wooden fence, we went with the Wooden Gate Construction as it was most reasonably priced. Emmanuel is a real craftsman and he has installed a beautiful fence!

Emmanuel did great work. He also did it quickly and at a fair price. Plus he was just a nice guy to deal with, and fun to have around.

My project was tearing out an old fence with an almost non-functional double gate in it, and building a new fence and double gate to replace it. From my first email to Emmanuel to project completion was all of about five days... he responds quickly and works fast. I have built wooden gates and fences myself, so I know good quality construction when I see it and this was excellent.

Emmanuel is also responsive to requested changes. I initially neglected to tell him that I wanted the gate to be easily opened by my eight year old son. My bad, and at first the latch was too high for my son to reach it. He quickly obtained the hardware he needed to relocate the latch and still make it work from both sides, and installed it the same day he got it at no extra charge.

This is not the last time I'll need to have fence and gate work on our property, and I will definitely engage Emmanuel for any more work we need done in the future.

Emmanuel was great to work with. We had a deck design and were able to make it happen and more. Thank you Emmanuel for all your expert advise.

Very pleased with the fence Wooden Gate Construction did for us. Emmanuel and his crew were very careful and respectful of the plants, sprinkler lines and other obstacles that left little room for removing the old fence and replacing the new fence. They cleaned up the job site well. Would definitely recommend Wooden Gate Construction for your fence.

Emmanuel is amazing at his job! I called him and he came out the next day, gave a competitive quote to repair my fence, starting repairs the next day and worked for 15 hours that day to complete the job. He came the next day for cleanup. He did a beautiful, high quality repair and put up a new gate. So impressed with his work!

Wooden Gate Construction completed our backyard’s chain link fencing. We had a large carport that needed a double gate (~20ft) and wanted 2 additional foot traffic single gates. Emmanuel completed the job and it looks great and matches our existing fence. Emmanuel was kind and professional throughout the job and made sure that despite the slope that the gate would be secure so that our dogs wouldn’t be able to get out. Wooden Gate Construction offered a reasonable price and has continued to checkin to ensure the job is to our liking.

Wooden Gate Construction did a fantastic job replacing our fence. Emmanuel and his team offered a competitive quote, arrived promptly, they were very professional and friendly. And completed the work in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend Wooden Gate Construction to everyone and are already considering them for future jobs. Thank you Emmanuel and team!!

Owner was polite, professional, engaging and communicative at every touch point. He was consistently on-time (or early) to all commitments, 100% on budget, and delivered consistently high quality work. Also honest to a fault, I miscounted a cash payment due him and he caught the error and notified me of the same.

I’ve spent over $80k with him on 6 project across four properties. Simply top notch partner.

Some photos of his work below.

Emmanuel is a hard worker and is very knowledgeable. He also listened to my concerns and met expectations. Thank you!

Working with Emmanuel was an absolute pleasure. I have two large decorative wooden screens in desperate need of repair and refresh. Emmanuel quickly responded to my inquiry and came out the same day to give me a quote. He suggested a genius idea for the repair which even minimized my cost. His bid was very fair, communication top notch, site clean up excellent, and the whole job was completed in less than one week. My wooden screens are gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about Wooden Gate Construction.

Loved working with Emmanuel @ Wooden Gates. Big wind storm on Tuesday night 11/19 & a 16 feet section of my fence came down. Emmanuel was the first person to contact me from Angi List so I took a chance & glad I did. I also decided to replace a 18 foot section of my fence that had a 2 foot gate which I had him enlarger to a 3 foot gate. Within two days & 1/2 days the work was complete. I very satisfied with the work. He a professional. Also enjoyed his worker Alberto. In the near future I will have him replace the rest of my 35 year old cedar fence. Jan from Auburn

I needed fencing built for a dog run for our new puppy. I called Wooden Gate Construction on Monday afternoon and they were out that evening to give me an estimate. I had the estimate in less than 2 hours and the price was hundreds less than others I had received. I accepted the bid and by Wednesday evening it was done and looks fantastic! The construction is very solid and attention to detail is on point. I can't express how impressed I am with this company. You won't be disappointed.

Emmanuel with Wooden Gate Construction was fantastic! Fair pricing, excellent communication, and top-notch work on our fence repair. Highly recommend!

I hired Wooden Gate Construction to replace deck boards with cedar boards, using a hidden fastener system, and use the opportunity to install a trex rainescape system that protects the joists and gives us a dry area under the deck. Everything was completed in time, and when the city inspector came, he praised the quality of the work.

I'm looking forward to hire them again to install new fences and gates. Highly recommended.

Edit: I hired Emmanuel again to do maintenance to the deck and railings and his team did a great job. The fence he built a year ago is also visible in the new photos I am uploading. I highly recommend Emmanuel.

Emmanuel was a pleasure to work with. He is courteous, passionate about his work and committed to a good result. We were so impressed with the value in our Trex deck and custom railing, we invited him and his crew back to work on some other outdoor projects. We’ll invite him back again!

Emmanuel and team are extremely professional and hard-working. They replaced a decades old wooden deck with a beautiful new composite deck for me, and also took down about a 7-foot wooden structure that was left over from a pergola that was previously removed. Emmanuel is extremely punctual and communicative as well.

The wooden structure came down quickly and quietly and the deck went up in two days including one day in the snow! I would highly recommend Emmanuel and Wooden Gate as I am very pleased with the new deck.

I've attached photos of the structure they removed in addition to the old and new decks.

Emmanuel and his team replaced our fence and built two gates for us. He is very communicative and professional, and his work is of high quality. We will definitely use him for any future fencing needs. Thanks Emmanuel!
