I rarely ever write a review but feel compelled to do so BECAUSE of HOW GREAT Riggins Construction and Ryan Riggins was!..Hopefully quick short story!..by a FLUKE...I just happen to come across Riggins name while looking for a small outside deck to be done..the original company that gave me some ideas were unresponsive and the ideas were NOT what I wanted...I called Riggins and RIGHT AWAY I KNEW he was the one for the job...EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, EFFICIENT and FAST TALKER!..He came by the next day and knew exactly what I was looking for and started immediately...He was and is the FINEST contractor I have EVER come across...!!..He communicated through out the project asking me WHAT I wanted and what exactly he was doing and gave me some GREAT information about the rules, permits, measurements ...the WORKS!..He KNOWS HIS STUFF!...He has got to be the MOST HARDWORKING, HONEST, DEDICATED, and EXTREMELY COMMUNICATIVE CONTRACTOR I have EVER COME ACROSS!..seriously!! the deck came out SPECTACULAR...EXACTLY what I wanted..(since I did NOT even KNOW what I WANTED!) and I can't even begin to THANK him enough for his intelligence, insight, and awesome character!..His impeccable dedication to his company and his skillful projects is to be commended!...He has got to be the hands down the most expert professional contractor I have ever had the pleasure to work with and sincerely hope he continues with his success as a construction specialist and builder! I can't recommend him enough and when people walk by and comment on HOW BEAUTIFUL the deck is and WHERE I got it built...I quickly tell them his name and company!..I commend his designs and his company to the moon!..THANK YOU RIGGINS CONSTRUCTION FOR EVERYTHING!.please support this local business...you will be happy you do!..I am over the moon!! :) :) :)

This was the most unpleasant interaction I have ever had with a contractor. Since he has currently issued a threat of a defamation lawsuit (a *totally* normal thing to do in response to a bad review I am sure), I will provide a complete and accurate account of our interactions.
I was not a customer of Riggins construction. We found them on Google, and we liked their work.
Mr. Riggins had some scheduling conflicts that made it difficult for him to get in.
When he was finally able to get in, I let him know he'd have to meet with my wife as I had a conflict. He replied with a preference to see us both, so we could commit right away. I let him know we would be reviewing multiple quotes privately anyway. He asked for the competitors quote. I refused since I like seeing initial quotes first. He acted with surprise and said he'd never heard of such a thing. Up until now, nothing that out of the ordinary. He asked where we'd found him and I mistakenly said Thumbtack. He bashed Thumbtack a bit. I found that unprofessional and let him know. I also was also tactlessly blunt that earlier unavailability (not his fault!) meant that he was now a bit behind other option. He said he didn't want to work with us.
Up until now, this was just normal level bad interaction - he was unpleasant, but then, so was I. I *really* don't like it when businesses trash other businesses, whether that's a contractor trashing Thumbtack or a Crossfit instructor trashing Planet Fitness. And I doubtless was quite the jerk about that.
Nevertheless, I chose to leave a one star review. Because at the end of the day unprofessionalism is unprofessionalism.
In response to that review he threatened a defamation lawsuit. I offered to edit any content of the review to meet his requirements, but understandably refused to take it down.
I remain willing to edit any content of this review which Mr Riggins considers to be factually incorrect! -
Riggings and his crew are super reliable and friendly. They produce super high quality work. Ryan always goes the extra mile to give you what you want. I would highly recommend Ryan, beyond happy with his work!!!

Ryan and his employees rebuilt our deck, replaced our fence & gates and built hand railings for our steps. Their work is very professional and of superior quality. All of the employees were pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Ryan and his crew built a new cedar fence for us. Overall very happy with the work. Some things that stood out:
* Solid workmanship
* Clean and respectful crew (didn't trample our backyard plants; cleaned up after themselves every day and at the end of the job)
* Didn't try to change the work plan or squeeze us for more money
* Good and frequent communication
We're happy with the project and will be referring him to others. -
Ryan and his crew did a great job while working on my property. They were professional, and quick throughout the process. I highly recommend him and his outfit if you need fencing or decking worked on.

Ryan built an amazing IPE fence and IPE gates for me. His attention to detail is superb. He delivered on time and on budget. Very competitive pricing for the quality he produces. Enjoyed meeting his crew, who were both skilled and did a wonderful cleanup job at the end of the project. End to end, it was a good experience, and I plan to work with them again.

Had Ryan by in 2020 to build out a project too big for myself to complete. He and his team built us a 100’ long 6’ high retaining wall with a 6’ fence above it. Super communicative and negotiated on price when needed. 3 years later and it looks great. No complaints from me!

Ryan and team did a fantastic job on our deck work. The craftsmanship is excellent and their attention to detail to ensure safety was above and beyond. We are very happy with the finished product and Ryan was great at giving us a number of options and ideas as needed.

Ryan and his crew did an amazing job building a fantastic looking fence even on short notice. They banged out a 40' fence in ONE DAY including stain at a great price. I highly recommend using Riggins if you want a high quality, really good looking fence for your place.

Ryan and his crew built us a beautiful new fence of clear cedar with 3 gates, all for a reasonable price. It was a new fence, so they did a great job at following the property boundaries I marked out and clearing out some shrubs and trees that were in the way too. Clean, quick, and easy to work with.

This is our second time working with Ryan. Last year Ryan built a beautiful fence. This time he got rid of an old deck in our back yard. We would use him again but decided to go with concrete. He's honest, hard working, professional and super easy to work with.

I hired Ryan to install a horizontal ipe fence. I was a bit worried because ipe is a very hard wood and challenging to work with. But Ryan is very experienced, and he and his crew handled the job easily. The fence fully met and often exceeded my expectations for quality craftsmanship. There are very few contractors who hold themselves to as high a standard as Ryan does. He takes pride in his work, and even when he knew that I would let some things slide, he always did what it took--whether it's moving a post or replacing a board--to maintain the high standards he sets for himself. He also gave me some advice on how to fix a separate issue in the yard, which worked out great. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would not hesitate to hire Ryan again for future projects.

Ryan and his team were incredible. Communication was a breeze, and the work that was completed on our new deck installation and fence was supurb. They tidied up all of their equipment and materials, and were pleasant and did a wonderful job. We will defiantly use them again for future projects.

Where do I begin? I first hired Ryan a little more than three years ago to replace my fence. I am a perfectionist by nature and told Ryan upfront that I expected straight lines, true 90 degree angles, and perfect symmetry. Ryan’s response? Good — so do I. And he did not disappoint. The fence and gates he built for me were superb — perfect even. Perfect lines and perfect angles. In fact, the lines are so clean that when you close the gates they simply disappear.
I knew then that I had found a true craftsman and immediately started looking around for the next project. Cue the deck. Ryan demolished my old dilapidated deck and replaced it with a beautiful IPE deck that probably will last longer than I will. And again, everything is perfect. Perfect lines, and perfect precision. Even better, Ryan basically doesn’t understand the words no or can’t. If I had an idea, he was quick to discuss the pros and cons and tell me the best way to implement. And the results speak for themselves (see attached pictures).
Since then, I’ve basically racked my brain every year to figure out what else I could have Ryan improve. He’s built me a hardscape path, he’s replaced the railing on my front patio, and he’s built my wife a beautiful garden box. Through every project, he’s been an absolute pleasure to work with — letting me know when he was coming and going and cleaning up daily.
In short, I can’t recommend Ryan any higher. He’s a true craftsman who can do just about anything — and a nice guy to boot. If you are thinking about hiring him, do it. You’ll be so pleased that you did. -
Ryan RIggins's crew came into our yard after the cyclone blew down 2 trees and destroyed our south side and west side fences. They replaced those sections rapidly and the replacements are very graceful and more beautiful than what was there before. They are works of art.

Professional and trustworthy, I highly recommend Riggins Construction.
Based on the fantastic ratings on Yelp, we decided to hire Ryan from Riggins Construction to build a fence at our new home in West Seattle. The home was a "flip," and while a perimeter fence was in place, the backyard needed to be enclosed for our dogs. We also wanted to create a more private, secure and attractive front yard using decorative fencing and arbors.
Ryan had the middle bid of three, but we felt most comfortable with his expertise and professionalism. Ryan worked so hard to remain in close communication even though we were never home during the hours that he worked on the fence. Text updates, photos, or calls came regularly - from underground pipes necessitating a change in the location of one section of fence, to BTW I moved your UPS package to the back deck - Ryan made me feel completely confident in the way he cared for us and our home.
He uses high quality materials and the quality of his workmanship is beyond my expectations. Which are high. :) Ryan took the time to explain changes he suggested to my design to be certain the fence will be structurally sound for the long term. He also added an Azek floor to the garbage can enclosure we had him create - another fabulous idea which should greatly extend the life of the enclosure even in rainy Seattle.
I am so excited that I can now work on the landscaping and pretty it up - the fence, gates, arbors, and enclosed garbage space have already made an enormous difference to the curb appeal of our home. When a wisteria winds its way up that front arbor in full bloom next Spring, it will be even more special. And not everyone could build me an arbor which they felt could handle a wisteria. Thank you, Ryan, for working so hard to make our house a home! -
I had a very positive experience working with Ryan from Riggins Construction. He was prompt in his communication, flexible in figuring out what would work for me and how to get my project completed quickly. The finished work looks great. I will definitely be calling him in the future when projects arise.

Ryan and his crew did fantastic work on a fairly difficult deck replacement. Because of the way our yard slopes and the fact that the entry to our house is five feet off the ground, we have a roofed porch with stairs that lead down to the deck below it. The deck is just above the grade on one side, while it needs to be supported four feet in the air on the other. Add to that a beautiful large cedar tree in the middle of the deck that we wanted to keep, and Ryan definitely had his work cut out for him. However, his problem solving skills on the job and attention to detail left us with a solidly built deck and porch that we believe will hold the rest of the house up when the big earthquake hits. Not only that - it's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that adds value to our lives because we can now enjoy our front yard. I do think the project took longer than Ryan initially anticipated and there were several hiccups along the way due to the nature of our strange yard, but we can't fault Ryan and his crew for not being able to anticipate where tree roots are located. His price was fair considering the quality of the materials he uses and the difficulty of the project. We also had to have a permit for this project, and Ryan was very good about making sure his construction methods were in line with what the inspectors would expect. As a result, we had no issues and passed all inspections with no trouble.

I hired Riggins Construction to build a cedar fence for our new house in Ballard. I was on a tight schedule to get it done due to extensive travel, and Ryan promised to meet my timeline. He delivered in every way, including quality workmanship, professional communication, and timely completion. The fence looks fantastic and is built to last. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants good work and believes in supporting small local businesses. I’ll be calling Riggins Construction again for future projects!
