The guy (Alex) who came to fix our washing machine is very professional tech, he knows right away the problem after I told him what's wrong with our machine. With in 15 minutes washing machine back to work.

Gavin was professional and friendly. We had a fridge that was not working and he figured out where the failure was and got it working again. He worked extremely well with my anxiety about upcoming guests and got it right!

I was so happy to see the repair man, our dryer started to make a noise. Showed up early, which was fine and it was a Sunday with no extra charge. Fast and friendly. I would recommend this company for repairs.

I highly recommend 1 Man Appliance. He is honest and careful. He doesnt jerk you around or inflate costs. I am so glad to have found him. He fixed my washer quickly and without a huge bill.

Very professional, Gavin called to let me know he was here in 20 minutes and was so polite when he arrived! He went straight to work and had my dryer fixed so quickly! We have our go to for repairs for certain ! So much more affordable than Sears or best buy repairs! Couldn't reccomend them enough !

Terrible experience. My dishwasher wouldn't drain even after replacing the pump. The technician came over, sped through diagnosis, and told us we needed to replace the control board. He wouldn't do it for us because he didn't want to take the risk of burning the circuit, and instead asked us to do it ourselves. We bought a new control board on eBay which is nonrefundable, replaced it, but that didn't solve the problem. We ended up wasting half the price of a new dishwasher and more than a week of time due to the technician's mis-diagnosis.

The guy that came was friendly and had a great attitude of just wanting to help. He asked about taking his shoes off when he first came in the front door observant and respectful of the house rules. Fixed my appliance issue in a hurry and cleanly. I appreciate his logical approach and also listen to me carefully to properly assess the problem/situation. I am keeping his number so that next time I need appliance repair he is my man to call.

As luck would have it, my dryer started squeaking on Sunday night while my wife was doing her laundry. I searched the web and found One Man Appliance Service and Repair. toi went to their website ( it said available 24/7, so that caught my eye). I
called the number listed and a person actually answered the phone! That was half the battle right there! Thanks Gavin for being there... I told him what the sound was that was coming from my dryer and he said he could fix it. He came out the next morning, diagnosed it, had the part on his truck, replaced it right away and now Happy Wife--Happy Life!! I couldn't be happier. I will definitely refer you to all my friends and family!! It's always a pleasure to do business with a well-run, professional company. Kudos to Gavin.. you know your stuff!!

Additional and new review! I first used this company six years ago and wanted to review my latest experience, which was 10/20/25.

My 15-year old Whirlpool Cabrio dryer stopped working mid-cycle and was extremely hot to the touch on the exterior. Not good!

I am a firm believer in supporting a local and small business. 1 Man Appliance Repair Service is based in Shoreline and it literally is one man. His name is Gavin and he is the best!

I've used his company a few other times and was so impressed with his honesty, communication, professionalism, and fair pricing.

He was my first call to figure out what was going on with my dryer. I left him a voicemail on Sunday night and he called me back at 8:09 on Monday morning to set up an appointment.

From checking the electrical panel to making sure the dryer vent wasn't clogged, Gavin methodically took apart my dryer to find the issue. Turns out it was the Thermo switch, which he replaced, and also replaced my dryer vent hose with a more flexible option since I have a tight space for my washer and dryer.

I've now put 10 loads of laundry through my repaired dryer and it works perfectly! Thank you, Gavin.

As a single woman, who has zero knowledge about fixing appliances, I'm grateful that I found 1 Man Appliance Repair Service many years ago.

I had a leak from my freezer and called on a Saturday morning. Gavin answered right away and had an opening the same day but I was not available during the appointment window. My appointment was made for Monday, 11-1.

Gavin arrived at 11:20 on Monday. He was professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about what was causing the issue. After showing me how to clean the coils on my refrigerator, he disassembled the freezer backing and found an Otter Pop blocking the drain. An Otter Pop! Once we both stopped laughing (he had never seen that before), he thoroughly explained how my freezer works and got right to fixing the problem. Within a half hour, my freezer was back up and running...leak free!

Like you, I read reviews before deciding who to give my business to. One of the reviews about 1 Man Appliance Service and Repair really stuck out to me. Gavin told a customer the repair would be greater than buying a new washer. To me, this shows honesty and integrity. What more can you ask for as a customer?

I left a message with Gavin at 1 Man Appliance Service and Repair on July3/4 2022 holiday weekend. Gavin returned my call that day and said that he'd be at our home on Tuesday, July 5 between 10 - Noon. He was up front about the rate he charges for making a housecall, and his 1/2 hourly rate. Both reasonable. He was prompt, professional, friendly, and efficient. Gavin quickly diagnosed and repaired our washer. We will definatlely choose 1 Man Appliance Service and Repair for future appliiance repair needs.

We had issues with a dishwasher that wouldn’t drain and our tech was committed to helping us out. He had to make three trips and had creative solutions, at one point bringing in his bike pump from home(!) and also offered to cover the cost of an $80 part. I would absolutely call this company again!

We really appreciated the professionalism of Gavin. Our Washing machine was making a lot of noise as it was washing especially on the spin cycle. Gavin came within a half hour of calling him. He took a look at the machine and it was the mechanism underneath that controls the movement of the agitator and drum. He said that it would be at least $300 dollars for the part plus labor and that it would be better to get a new washer. He was not even going to charge us for the service call. We gave him $50 for his time and trouble. We will Use Gavin again for any appliance repair that may be required.

Today, I just got my LG washer/dryer combo LCD readout fixed.
Helpful, courteous, and on time.
1 Man Appliance Service and Repair is more cost-effective than other appliance places I called for quotes. If the need ever arises again, and things do break over time. Sorry I forgot his name, I will be using this service again if and when I require appliance repairs done.
