We overloaded a kitchen circuit this morning and while I'm fairly savvy with electrical in the home, it seemed like the problem was back at the breaker in the panel. For me, that means it's time to call in a professional. I happened to see the LightSmith truck out in front of my neighbor's house and left a note on the truck asking if they might come by my house if they freed up. 10 minutes later, Sean Smith comes and knocks on my door. He quickly diagnosed my problem as a loose breaker in the panel and had it fixed in no time. This is the week of Thanksgiving and I'm sure Sean and his crew are slammed, so I really appreciate him taking the time to help us out when he had no obligation to do so. Thanks a million, Sean!!

Hanna is fabulous! Hanna took my call last week, said they didn't have an availability to get fit our office in for service for a couple of weeks, I booked a tentative appointment with them. Hanna knowing what a predicament that our office was in gave us a recommendation that was fabulous, and took care of the problem. Customer Service 10+ for this business! Will definitely give them first crack if we have future electrical issues.

Sean and Hannah and the entire crew at LightSmith Electric are great to work with. They set up a thorough walk through in order to give a thoughtful bid. They helped us understand safety concerns with our 1937 home and suggested a variety of options and budgets for addressing the issues. They showed up on time and worked hard to finish all of our checklist. They even brought in extra help to finish the work on time and on budget. Zach was our lead on the project and he answered all of our questions and even came back early one morning when some of our tricky pool circuitry had a mix up. I not only recommend them highly, we're about to hire them for another project.

We had a couple ceiling fans installed where there were no ceiling fans installed before. I had called a few of the larger electrician companies and they had insane prices for new ceiling fan locations installed. Lightsmith Electric beat them all 50 to 75% below what others were quoting. I'm not exaggerating on the price either. Shawn the owner came out, gave us an estimate, after we expanded what we wanted done.
He went over everything with us in detail and we then set up an appointment to have it all done. He really made us feel like he cared. A couple of the electricians came out on our scheduled date, and were even early. A few hours later they had two new ceiling fans installed, in our living room, and bedroom where there had never been fans before. They wired them up and even put the bedroom on a dimmer slider switch that we can control the light separately from the fan, all from the wall. The living room is remote controlled. The guys that came out were very professional and easy to talk to. My wife and I will be customers for life after this. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and the cost savings over the big companies is a huge plus. Thank you!

Some time ago we had LightSmith install a generator lock-out switch. They showed up on time, did exactly what they said and did great work.
We recently had a breaker problem affecting our fridge. They called us right back, helped set a plan to remedy the situation the same day we contacted them. Same day is a bonus...but just proactive communication and support is awesome.

I've been meaning to leave this review for months since these folks upgraded my new meter and routed it to a new sub panel in my basement. I had literally 8 other electricians come and quote it and lightsmith had the best plan, best execution, and best price out of the lot. Lightsmith is the real deal and I have been recommending them to everyone I know

LightSmith Electric added new lighting throughout our entire house and an out building that we have. They were great about giving a detailed estimate that broke things down clearly and let you know exactly what they planned to do. Their crew was very professional and accommodating in making sure things were just how we would like. They did great work and I would highly recommend them.

I have called Lightsmith for 6 years for residential electrical help. They have worked on an assortment of electrical needs; floodlight and exterior light installation, baseboard and wall heater repairs and installation, thermostats, bathroom fans, light fixtures, etc. I am always impressed with the staff’s skills, knowledge, and friendliness. Good people, good work, professional service. We will use them for project work again (like installing new lighting solutions) but probably not for service (like broken lights/wiring). They're not upfront with the pricing for showing up, even for a small job - it's very costly.

From the beginning when Thorr came out to provide a bid for metaling a whole home Generac generator,, we have experienced incredible professionalism right through to the end of the project. As you know, there are a lot of different aspects and organizations involved to get the proper permitting and installation steps choreographed. The followup by your office team and Thorr has been fantastic and ensured the timely completion of the project.

Thorr is fantastic, very thorough in providing information, and the installation team he managed are great. They communicated what they were doing in understandable terms and were very respectful of our property. These days it is hard to find contractors that pay attention to detail, return the property to as close as possible to original condition, and are personable.

Overall, while not an inexpensive project, we felt the costs were very reasonable and the transparency on all charges helped us understand that we received a great value.

The crew at Lightsmith were amazing from start to finish. We hired them to do several small jobs, including replacing several light switches in our barn, replacing a faulty circuit breaker and outlet in our kitchen, and hooking up our old outdoor pole light that a prior electrician had disconnected and refused to reconnect when we had our panels replaced. Everything has worked perfectly since, and our barn is much more convenient to work in now that we have remote switches installed in the front. Prices were quite reasonable for the scope of the work, and everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional. I definitely recommend this place. :)

I’m in the construction business and have met with a lot of venders. As a home owner who gets a lot of work done at home I know how important it is to us to know you can trust a contractor. This company is it! Super friendly and respectful of your home and our family members. They (fee estimator, admin staff on the phone, and labor team) were extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer clarifying questions and at no point did I feel like I was being mishandled or misled or upsold anything. From the visit for the fee estimate to the last moments with the labor guys, the experience was totally stress free. Will call this company everytime we need something. And for the cherry on top, the inspector passed the work nearly immediately!

Great company to work with for your electrical needs. I've had them work both residential at our house and commercial at our business. Each time they arrived promptly on time and the work was completed perfectly. They are responsive to phone calls and estimates as well. Very happy with them!

At the end a good job, reasonably priced and quickly executed. However there were a lot of unusual events that confused me. For instance I wanted to replace the main panel. The original estimate was reasonable. However a follow up visit by another person showed that the original estimate was not possible because the meter was not located at the house, since the original panel had to move out and down to accommodate the new panel and the wires from the remote meter were not long enough. The original estimator did not notice this anomaly. OK. New estimate with an additional subpanel. I was told one person was coming. Call him A. However two people showed up. Person B worked on the main panel and person A worked on the sub panel. Person A spent large parts of the day just sitting in his truck surfing his phone. No explanation when I asked. Person A asked immediately upon arrival to use the bathroom. Asked if shoes come off I said no, it is ok (assuming one or two visits). However they did not tell me that they had to reroute all wiring into the garage ceiling joists which meant drilling a lot of holes, which meant a lot of saw dust - removing insulation. So Person A goes to the bathroom maybe 8 or 9 times during the day, with shoes on and tracked sawdust up the stairs to the bathroom. Person B appeared to work the whole time with no breaks and no bathroom visits. The work done was approved by the county, but later I wanted to modify a lighting circuit moved to the subpanel and found that the lighting circuit had been incorrectly labeled as a fan circuit. A little trouble shooting found that Person A had simply reversed the labeling for the fan and the lighting circuit. The fix was to re-label the circuits correctly. But it took me about a 1/2 hour to make sure I understood what had happened before I applied the relabeling. I find the behavior of Person A unusual and surprising given the fact that he sat in his truck a few times.
I had spent a lot of money installing increased sub floor supports and these guys drilled a bunch of holes through them without telling me in advance. The hole placement was good but I felt I was being talked down to and not respected when I questioned the activity. It is my house after all.

The end result of upgrading the breaker box for our house was good. Unfortunately, they have room for improvement in communication and planning. Hannah and Nannette were great to work with from the office. Unfortunately, for some of the planning and logistics they stumbled a bit. They had trouble giving me a specific answer of how far to have our heat pump moved to give room for the new meter. They also did not plan well with PSE / Potelco regarding the lines to the meter and related digging (things PSE communicated back in 2022). They also unfortunately accidentally damaged my garage door and a classic car part that was in the rafters of our garage (a small credit was given on the invoice). Overall for the process, I feel like they could be better at informing the customer of what to expect for each step of the project.

We had an emergency issue today and the LightSmith Electric team took amazing, quick and professional care of us. All of our smoke alarms were going off and the only way to turn them off was at the breaker. (which caused lights and washer to go out also).With all family (2 infants and one toddler )travelling in tomorrow night, we had to get this fixed immediately. From the first phone call with the scheduler, (who was genuinely empathic to the situation)to the end, final vacuuming they did to replace our "smokies", everyone was prompt and professional. They requested current pics of the devices, to make sure they had the correct equipment BEFORE coming out, and then also did a check on the whole breaker panel too. CANNOT thank them enough. You are in great hands with this family company that really cares.
