I bought a Carrier heat pump in October 2021. Product and installation cost me $8,700. This was a huge purchase and investment made with the hope that the unit would last us 10-15 years.
In July 2023, the heat pump died. Despite having a warranty from carrier that covers all the parts, we were informed that it would be $4,000 in labor to fix it.
I contacted Carrier customer service directly, hoping they would be able to do something to help ease the financial burden, considering their product didn’t even last me two summers. After being placed on hold several time adding up to over an hour of waiting, I reached the apparent top of their customer service chain. When I pleaded with that person to stand by their product, I was told there was nothing that could be done. They then hung up on me.
Now I’m sitting in the hottest month of the year with no AC, trying to keep my 8 months pregnant wife cool.
Carrier does not care at all about their customers. Buyers, I highly recommend you take your money elsewhere.
