The owner of the company did reach out to me personally. He was very upset to read my review, that one of his costumers had an experience like this. He was very clear that they would be working on better training and follow through with their workers. All systems are a-go as of this moment and I have no other complaints with the company.

    Original post:
Workers didn't wire the system properly causing multiple days off work to be a available for extra work and inspections. We missed lots of good solar collection time. And they left tools behind after installation, including a work order board and his hat on my closet shelf near the attic access. I have no idea how he followed up with the rest of his work that day. When making the payment, the confirmation email is a super sketchy gmail account giving us major panic attacks, thinking we wired thousands of dollars to a scammer. After calling the next day (we paid the evening prior, after business hours) the response was, "oh. That's a former employee. We thought we changed that." It is an affiliated company email, with no prior guidance or warning. You just get a pop up saying thank you for your payment to ...(foreign name) @gmail.com. A company name @gmail would have still been ghetto but less scary (own your domain yo! Business 101!) But some random workers name? Anyone making the electronic payment, beware. Don't. Just do a paper check.

Overall, I'm sorry. But I can not give Unity a good rating. We have limited solar companies in my area and they were the better price. But I guess you get what you pay for.

We had Unity install a 15KWH ground mount system. We have fairly unrestricted solar exposure. The performance is outstanding and very much in line with what Andrew's proposal stated. It is presently exceeding our expectation, and we are excited about tracking our production and electric bill over the year via net metering. It is very possible we could have a net zero electric expense over a 12-month period. Our home is a 3,200 square foot one level house with lots of energy saving measures taken. We are mostly retired empty nesters and at home most of the time.
    Great work Unity!

This is a new home on a rural lot. We had it built and moved into it January 2025.
Andrew from Unity Solar came to the site to visit and go over the project. We could tell right away why our builder recommended that we work with Unity. His conduct and professionalism was repeated at every checkpoint in the process by the Unity team. Always available and communicative. The workmanship was excellent. It was completed on schedule, and the trades people were clean and neat. Service after the sale is excellent and Andrew remains available to answer questions as we familiarize ourselves with the system, which has turned out to be very easy.
As a construction business owner for over 44 years, I am very used to working with specialty contractors and vendors.
    Unity Solar is top shelf.

Super easy process to go through. They had me my estimate really quickly, handled any issues that came up, and gave me everything I needed to monitor my solar system.

To put my review in context, my install was unusually difficult. Unity and I had decided on a 12.3KW system and Unity was efficient in submitting all of the paperwork to PGE and the county. However, PGE contacted me directly and told me I have to pay almost $8K to update my transformer to handle the 12.3KW. Since that would have blown out my ROI, we had to scale the system down to a 10.6KW system to avoid the extra cost. Having to redesign and resubmit paperwork extended out the job months. Once we got past that, the install went pretty smooth. Since I did not like how the install was being hooked up to my panel, we had to do a last minute panel replacement, and Unity was good to work with me on the cost. Overall, I think Unity did a fairly good job, but here are some pros and cons:
    Pros:
    1. Overall, Unity has some good employees working for them, especially Robert, one of their electricians. Traci also was very responsive in resolving questions and problems.
    2. I was relatively happy with the quality of the work and I am a stickler.
    3. The electrical panel replacement was well done and they used quality US made parts for the whole system.
    4. Their pricing was competitive. When they had to downscale my system, I thought the price reduction was resonable.
    5. For their faults, I had first started an install with Freedom Forever solar. They were much worse. High pressure sales and tried to install a system that was not even remotely similar to the system I they had bid. I did not get a runaround when I had problems from Unity. I can't say the same about FF.

    Cons:
    1. Communication could have been way better. It was not made clear to me early on the roles of people on my project. My project manager did not do a good job, and rarely contacted me. As a result I had to bug the owner a number of times and he was not very responsive, nor would I expect him to. FYI: I believe my project manager is no longer working there.
    2. I had to correct too many mistakes in billing and documentation. However, most of that was due to confusion on the system size changeup in the middle of the project.
    3. I would have liked some more details about the system design. If I would not have been home when they were doing the panel attachment I would have been extremely unhappy with how they did it. I don't want conduit in my living room. They changed direction pretty quickly, tho and offered solutions to me. +1.
    4. Provisioning did not go smooth, as the microinverters were setup wrong. The first visit from PGE to approve the system was a failure because it did not work. Unity did not test that the system was working after finishing install. That was an oversight that should not have happened and it extended the provisioning by a couple of weeks.
    5. Once we got it up and running and PGE approved, 1 inverter was bad. On the plus side, they fixed the inverter the next day. This gives me confidence in their service warranty.
    6. I paid big money to not project manage my install. I had to do too much of that for my taste.

Overall, would I recommend Unity? I would say yes - they have some good people there and I like Mason (the owner), but they need to improve some of their processes, especially communication. When their project manager was failing, they should have done something, even reassigned that role to someone who paid more attention to moving my project forward and communicating progress.

Of the more than 5 quotes that we got for solar installation for our home, only Unity Solar offered AP system's dual micro inverters as opposed to the Enphase system offered by everyone else. Based on my reading, because of the dual micro inverters, the overall cost of the system comes down due to lesser number of parts, ease of installation, without compromising on the efficiency. Their warranty is also comparable to the best in class. Also liked the fact that Unity Solar is an offshoot of a local electric company that has been in business for many decades. Overall, I have been very impressed with the end-to-end support starting from the first call to the final walk-through. We have concrete tile roof and while not many companies work on tile roofs, Unity works on it and provides the same warranty as on any other roof. Clear communication, one of the lowest prices quoted and charged, professional installation and promptly addressed every concern that came up. Looking forward to years of trouble free solar.

The installation came off without a hitch. It is working fine. This company gave us a good bid and they followed through.

Unity Solar doesn't just do solar installs. I hired them last week to do the electrical work for a new HVAC system at my house and they were able to fit me in so that the install was running on the first day of a heat-wave. The electricians were on-time, very skilled and pleasant to work with. I am really happy with the service and will hire them again for my next project.

Unity deployed a solar inverter and battery to support my 240 V loads. There were issues with the design's integration with my existing inter solution which were resolved quickly. I expect there to be issues and what I appreciate is the company very responsive and moved quickly to address any and all problems.

    Unity Solar SHINES!
I recently interviewed 3 companies for my recent solar installation. Unity Solar was the BEST priced and moreover the BEST at communication - from Start to Finish. My initial and final meetups with Mason were great. He did a thorough initial assessment and explained stuff in a pragmatic way with an obvious wealth of experience. And his wrap-up meeting was thorough and much appreciated - my meter is spinning backwards!!
And speaking of experience, the Father-Son ELECTRICIAN team of Devin and Colin ROCKS! These guys were skilled and friendly, and kept me up to date on the complex electrical issues associated with my project. Thank you guys!
Moreover friends, DO NOT hesitate to choose Unity Solar!

UNITY replaced my 22 ten year old solar panels with 16 more powerful panels and it all worked out great. I can run the entire house and 2 heat pumps on full sun days and the local electric utility calculated I will save $900 in power costs this year.

I had Unity install a ground mount solar panel array, and they were very efficient and did the work so that it had the least impact on my existing landscape. They also did the tie in to the electric panel with minimal visual impact. Thank you very much.I am very impressed with the amount of electricity being produced during this time of year.

Unity is a top-notch solar installer who does exactly what they say they are going to do when they say they will do it. They quoted several options for solar power systems and installed the one we chose. Their pricing was fair and high value when you look at what they did. The team is professional, their installations nicely completed, and they follow up. I highly recommend them as a professional supplier in a field where that is kind of rare.

When we wanted to add Solar Panels to our roof, I made contact with a number of companies. Unity Solar stood out from the crowd with quick responses and good overall communication. There is a lot of back and forth that is needed to lock down the details. When I made contact with Unity, they worked hard to get those details right. Once the installation started, the project went very smoothly and today all of the solar panels are generating as expected. Timely communication, professionalism, a good price and a good result are what the group at Unity Solar provided.

We had 16 solar panels installed on our metal tile roof by Unity Solar and have to say that, after researching over 30 other solar installers over the course of 2 years (meeting about 10 in person to talk through specifics) we are SO GLAD that we went with Unity Solar.

They, by far, had the most responsive, accurate, and informed customer service. Went well beyond what any other company would do. They even negotiated on with the manufacturer of our specific metal roof tiles to ensure that we would have the full lifetime warranty on our roof after the install.

They helped us find a reasonably priced and quick-turnaround contractor to get our trusses solar-ready, and helped through the whole permitting process too.

Everyone from the sales team, to the customer service folks, to the installers, and the folks that checked on us after our service went live, were great!

Worked with JC for over 15 years. He has helped run ethernet cable for my home and security system at our office.

Oleg installed a garage outlet, so i could plug in my new Subaru Solterra EV. He arrived on time and completed the install quickly and for the price quoted. Also cleaned up the area when he was done.
