4th time was the charm! After several terrible experiences and waisted money on patchwork fixes over the past 2 years from other AC repair companies. Jason from Service First came along. He put in the time and effort to give me a professional and accurate diagnosis with a clear path on how to move forward. I went from thinking I’d have to do a full replacement to a more simple “flare leak” fix and a cleaning. Only AC repair I will use in the future.

They did an awesome job with replacing our heat system and fixing the ducting issues I didn't even know I had. Great team and friendly staff. I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know needing work done to the heating and cooling related needs.

Francisco was amazing in helping us over the phone address an issue that we were afraid would end up with our whole floor gutted. On the contrary, it was something pretty simple that he was able to guide us through over the phone and without his help we would’ve been clueless. In the future, if anything does happen, Francisco is definitely our guy!

I called Service First and will be calling them from now on for all my heating and cooling needs. I had another heating company (Area Heating and Cooling) come to my house and diagnose the furnace problem. The estimate they gave to replace the inducer motor was insane! After just a quick google search, I could see the average cost of the part and knew I was being taken advantage of.

When I called Service First I told them what part I needed replaced. I quickly got a call back from Andrew who was polite and gave me a quote over the phone- less than half the price that AREA was going to charge!!!! They set up a 2 hour window appointment for the very next day to complete the repair.

Jason, the service technician, was on time, polite and great with answering my questions. He installed the inducer motor efficiently and in about a half hour, my house has heat again!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Service First Heating and Cooling! I will be referring all my friends and family. Keep up the great and honest customer service!

Andrew has a great attitude and does not try to baffle you with BS. Only gives it to you straight without trying to sell you something you don't need. I have used these guys for years and the quality remains the same. Highly recommended.

Bottom line: my fireplace is working again and for that, I am grateful. However, I cancelled a different technician company because these guys were supposedly lower in price and could come out a day earlier. I had a part ready from Amazon that I figured was the problem and asked how much it would cost to diagnose and install (probably saved him quite a bit of diagnostic time). Answer: $119 and they wouldn't warranty the part as it wasn't theirs. Their warrantied part did turn out less expensive than Amazon's. But here's the rub: there are "hidden fees" I encourage prospective customers to ask about which, despite my efforts to cull them out in the beginning (and thinking we had an understanding), bit me. Note: they charge $119 to come to your house and diagnose the problem (Andrew knocked it down to $99). Their labor charge is $99 (guessing per hour). Parts will cost you extra. When I eventually informed him I would go the route of their part instead of my own and explained my frustration with the "miscommunication" in quoting prices, I was told that "maybe I can work on the price a little for you" among other reassurances of their pricing being fair and their work being exceptional. This turned out to be a definitive "maybe not" because "one of our guys had to go and pick up the part". Moral of the story, KNOW WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK AND WHERE ALL OF THEIR FEES WILL ARISE FROM.

So Service First was contratced by my home restoration company, we will call the Rob Res for this review. I wouldn't refer either to my worst enemy. I got a low end Goodman (cheap york crap) heatpump and air handler installed. I was told it was way better than the 16 year old system that caused the fire requiring the project. They had to send a tech out when I moved in because it was not wired to run the heat pump. Then after a year I assumed it was due to me learing how to use the system. Next, I learned it calls for the heat strips to come on durring startup. Long story short, my heating bills are double what they were before the fire with an entirely newly insulated house. Plus the bathroom vents drop water after a five minute shower. Do not bother with Service First unless you want a cut rate installer.

I chose this company because it had good reviews. I built a two-story home of over 3,000 sq. ft. with an ADU, and I had a contract for a two-zone system. I expected a comfortable, properly functioning setup for second story home of this size.

Instead, the company sent young helpers to rough-in the entire house. They were not licensed and did not seem trained enough for a project of this scale. As a result, the system has never worked correctly. During the summer, the downstairs is extremely cold, and during the winter, the second floor becomes too hot.

I eventually called another technician to inspect the system, and he told me, “You’re screwed. You have two thermostats, but the furnace and air conditioner were not built for a two-zone system. And with an ADU, code requires two furnaces.” He also found that several resistors were the wrong size and two ducts had fallen out of their registers.

It’s clear they did not follow code and relied on cheap, unlicensed helpers. I’m extremely upset — it keeps me awake at night thinking about it. I truly hope no one else ends up with the same experience. I honestly don’t understand where the good reviews came from.
