Poor service. Made the plumbing in my grandparent's house worse than before they came to fix it.

I called to get assistance with my Navien water heater. Spoke to Barry (after answering service sent my message to him), a certified Navien technician. He listened to my symptoms and advised me on what the likely cause was and guided me towards a maintenance solution. Polite, knowledgeable, forthcoming.

I truly onky wanted o give no stars. I am so upset by Bob. I contacted Bob at 10:30am asking if he could install my hot water tank. He said yes he would. He took all relative information needed...name, address & phone number and he said I will call you when I leave here. I said that sounds great. I have waited from 11am-3pm Bob did not call. I called Bob and he said no you were suppose to call us back. He said we can't get to you tonight. I said okay. Now, I can not find anyone to come out on a Friday evening and install my hot water tank. I have to wait until next week. This is very poor and bad business.

THE rudest people I’ve ever dealt with servicing my home. Used them 12 years ago and had a horrible experience with him. Vowed to never use them again, but we need work done on a brand new hot water heater we had installed a little over a month ago.. his name was given to us as the a contractor that works on warranty repairs. We call after hours last night and they tell us Don will call us this morning. He never did, so my husband calls him only to be told by Don himself, “he ain’t workin on no warranty repairs” .. he was EXTREMEY RUDE once again. Basically he doesn’t want to do warranty work for a company, that he clearly has signed up to do warranty work for, I wonder if it’s because he can’t swindle them and overcharge them ike he did to us all those years ago? What a piece of work. Save yourself some time and heartache and call someone else. Anyone else.

I had a non-emergency job. They came to the house in an hour and had the job fixed within a short time. They did a job I can't do so their charge was appropriate to my skill level. I've had them to my house twice and I will continue to use them.

This was a colossal waste of money!
I have an old home I'm trying to restore and live in. I knew every pipe needed replacing. And I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. I called them to see what needed to be done and how much it would cost.
But in just a little over 2 hours, they dug two holes, stuck a snake down two pipes, and looked under the house. The conclusion was basically: yep, you need new pipes. Ok, that'll be 700 dollars.
Oh and by the way, one of the guys walked off the job for a good 45 minutes and just dissapeared.
They will not return our phone calls. And they have not got an estimate. That was 2 weeks ago.
That was 700 dollars I cant afford to spend for absolutely nothing!!! And I am left with absolutely nothing more than what I started with before I called!!

I’ve waited about eight years to post this review.

Asked to have an outside faucet fixed because old one busted months ago because of the cold.

“Plumber” came. Relocated the faucet above an electrical box to my outdoor air conditioning unit.

Installed a new faucet that leaks from the top and all over the box (which is sealed btw).

I asked if it was supposed to do that and he said “yeah.”

A day later, the screw that held the handle on shot out because of water pressure and now it just leaks everywhere every time you turn it on. Didn’t even make it 24 hours.

Complicated. Let me say why I gave them four stars. The results were nothing short of wonderful. Our heat pump had never been installed properly by the builder. For 4 years we had to use window AC units in summer and on really cold days bathroom heaters. The outside unit would freeze up and never defrost. Pinched pipes. They ended up replacing the whole air handler for $2400. Way more than I expected to pay, but I didn't realize how bad the original instalation was. The difference after Don's worked on it is unbelievable. They are very professional and great people to work with.
The last times I hired other heating and plumbing places, they nickle and dimed us, though those guys were $50s and $100s. You had to pay for an apprentice to stand around watching. When Don's needed 2 guys, they were there, when only one was needed, the second guy left for another job. All of the cost seemed pretty normal.
I knocked off a star because of how long it took. I had my work done in the early fall when the HVAC was not needed much. It took two weeks to get it repaired and Don's is a good sized business. First they tried to get a replacement evaporator coil, that was a 3 week lead time from American Standard. So for $200 more they would replace the whole air handler. Well, that was a mess. These things are modular. The fan unit, the evaporator unit, the emergency heater unit, and amazingly the filter unit is a separate unit. None of it would fit with the old components. Lucky for me I built a big filter box that I could change through the kitchen floor without going into the crawl space. So you start at $900, plus labor, and material, and keep adding hundreds of dollars.
The problem I have is, who can go without heat for 3 weeks in winter? And worse I could get a left gold plated engraved nose inhaler shipped in from Nome Alaska in two days. Every HVAC house I have been in has new air handlers by the score. They come in like 6 sizes. Why the heck did it take 2 weeks to get something sitting on the shelf? And why did I have to keep calling them every few days to get status?

When I originally spoke to Don for an estimate on a pressure reducing valve on my water line, we discussed a couple of different options with the most expensive one being to run a line and the valve into my house. I was told the cost to have this done would be between $400-$600. I initially thought this was the way I would go. When his guys arrived I opted for what would be the cheaper route of having it set under my house since it stays fairly warm under there anyway. I was never told about the $145 first hour labor charge or $110 each additional hour until his employees were almost done, and never notified of a truck charge until I received my bill which totaled $640.88. If I would have gone with running the lines into my house it would have been over $1000, while I was expecting $400-$600 at the most. I was also billed for over 3 hours and they were at my house for 2, which I can prove with time stamps on my phone. I felt very deceived by the estimate I received and that the additional charges that I would be billed for above the original estimate were never mentioned or explained to me.

Rob showed up 3 hours after initial call for our air conditioner on a 90 degree day and was already working on fixing it by the time my husband arrived. He explained everything he was doing in detail and gave some tips for future use/maintenance. Was very nice, polite and helpful. Did a great job, got us back up and running within the hour.

We used Don' s Plumbing twice within the same month for clogged toilets. They came out, excited to use a new tool they had with a camera. The first time, the managed to get the toilets unclogged and said there was paper in the drain lines. The second time they came out (same problem), they used the camera tool and said they didn't see anything wrong. These two visits costed $1,400, and on May7, 2021.
.guess what I have going on at my house! Clogged toilets. They never fixed the problem or even knew why this keeps happening, but the still charged an outrageous amount. I am angry and afraid to call another plumber this time because I just cant afford to pay that. I would never recommend them!

After attempting to unclog a sewer pipe on our own and being unsuccessful, I called Don's. I called at the end of the day on Monday and they were out at my house first thing Tuesday morning. After an hour and a half or so of work, our clog was fixed. The cost was very reasonable, and I'm very grateful to Steven and Barry for the wonderful work they did. I will definitely be using Don's again in the future should any other plumbing problems arise, and I would recommend them over other plumbing companies in the area.
