Drew was great in during the quoting process with his explanations of the estimated power generations levels, options, timeline and costs. His quote was 30% lower than another quote we received that had fewer panels. The install crew did the work on the planned days and their workmanship was excellent. We'd give them the highest rating possible and highly recommend Drews Solar to everyone!

Our highest recommendation for Drews Solar (Michael and Maria). My son-in-law used them for a large farm solar project and highly recommended them. My wife and I got a number of quote for our home solar project. Drews was in line with all of them. The difference maker was the personal touch we got from them as a family-run local company. Michael was super helpful talking me through the project and options for components and our electrical situation in the house. Once we committed to Drews, the paperwork was prompt and professional and questions we had were answered the same day. Maria was incredibly helpful. The installation was scheduled and actually took place a little ahead of time. The crew was very personable and interactive and did an amazing job on site. My first contact with Drews Solar was exceedingly positive. Maria handled all my questions online, and Michael's first site visit left no doubt that they were the right ones to handle this sizable investment in our home. Michael sent two members of his crew in the fall, 2023, to run a conduit from the attic to the basement, in preparation for installing the actual panels in the spring, 2024. This turned-out to be more difficult than originally thought, but they were patient and professional. The final installation itself went well, though the pitch of the roof of our old house was challenging for Michael and the crew. The work was of the highest quality and completed when promised. The work done inside the house near the main electrical panel in the basement is a work of art--all boxes and cables neatly configured. Most importantly, the system is right-sized for our needs, some of which had to be anticipated since we did not own our EV yet. We received 3 estimates for installing solar panels in our house in September 2025. We chose Drews Solar to be the most informative and the easiest to work with. They did a very thorough inspection of our roof structure and existing electrical system and worked with us to come up with a solar array design that maximized our solar production for a very competitive price. I like that the system has the power inverter protected inside in our utility room not as micro-inverters on the roof. After 6 months operating the system everything is working smoothly and the solar production is closely tracking the what was expected for monthly production during Kate fall, winter and spring months. I would not hesitate to recommend Drews Solar to anyone.

We worked with Micheal and Maria on the sizing and layout of our solars panels. They were extremely informative and non-pushy. They even setup our EV Charger and all is setup on an App so we can look at both energy creation and usage. Michael is the sales team, engineer, installer, and master electrician; he can give you the level of detail you need from day one. Our project was also not an easy feat. Being an almost 100 year old barn, the roof was anything but straight and up almost 40ft from the ground! Michael and his team made it look fantastic with every detail accounted for. Maria was always very responsive and on top of all the permitting, rebates, and final approval process.

We had a 32 panel system installed on our roof. From estimate to install Michael Drews handled the project professionally. All of the paperwork, including rebates was handled by him. The work was done on time, looks great and works as advertised. MG&E has a good program for selling back 1:1 so no batteries were needed. I can't believe we didn't do this sooner.

Drews solar just completed our project today. Throughout the streamlined and simple process, Michael was quick to respond and very easy to work with and the paperwork was handled in an intuitive manner. His wife helped fill out the incentive forms for Focus on Energy making sure we would get incentives available to us. If you have even remotely though of solar, do it with Drews and don't look back! Drews is the most knowledgeable , passionate and professional installer in the Madison area. Period. The system even makes 500-700W of energy on rainy dark days! Wow! Well worth it IMHO. My pay off is 10-11 years, but the impact on the environment is immediate.
I initially found Drews through google maps and contacted them and a number of other installers. All my first-timer questions were answered promptly by Drews. Following the site visit, I received a detailed proposal with my best options and details about pricing. The pricing is very fair and totally worth it. My friends in CA who have solar confirmed that Drews uses the best quality panels, inverters, and equipment and installation pricing is nationally comparable. Going some cheap route is not worth it. Scheduling was easy and flexible despite the fact that he is in popular demand, he moved my date up and got the install done sooner.
During the installation I climbed on the roof and saw the quality of workmanship with mounts, boxes, conduits and he takes a lot of pride in making the work very neat and professional, especially since my install was complicated (see pics of roof). He finished on time and did an exceptional job. The city inspectors and the energy companies know his name so it makes the process very smooth, especially since he did all the paperwork.
He is really passionate about solar and runs it as his small business satisfying one customer at a time. And I am a satisfied customer as my system went live today (11/6/2018)

we decided that 2021 would be the year that we went solar, in an effort to limit our environmental footprint and reduce the cost of our utility bills! Michael was responsive, professional, and walked us through the process in detail so that we would know the "Why" of the system sizing, and how it would impact our bill and energy usage.

when installation day came, the crew was efficient, respectful, and did an excellent job. i was able to work from home the whole day without interruptions.

once the system was installed, Michael gave us a thorough walkthrough, showed us how to use the system and the APP to monitor the panels, and gave us detailed information on the tax and rebate programs.

i wouldn't hesitate to call them for future solar needs. truly a great local business!

From quote to installation, they provided amazing service, thoughtful system design, professional and skilled installers, and great communication. They took care of all the details for us for getting connected to the utility and getting our system running, as well as applying for rebates and navigating tax credit incentives.

We built our house a year ago as an all-electric house with the goal of being net-zero energy. After collecting a year's worth of usage data, Drews helped us size our system appropriately, including planning for future car charging or other increases in usage. With our system installed and running, we are on our way to achieving our net-zero goal. The quote was very competitive with other installers' quotes. They kept us in the loop the whole time and got our system installed as fast as possible. We've been operating for a few days now and are totally satisfied with the system they installed.

I'll echo the many great reviews... Drews did an excellent job. They were very communicative throughout the entire project, handled all the paperwork for the City/MGE, and even managed to squeeze our install in a month earlier than expected. Our install was complete on a Friday, and switched on the following Monday (we got lucky - it usually takes a couple weeks). And our production numbers for the first week seem right in line with the estimates (though they will vary, of course). Highly recommended!
