$95.00 labor charge on a $10.00 piece. wow. that took less than 2 minutes to fix.

Charged me $148.76 to show up and say they can't do anything. $37 check valve and I fixed it myself!!!! Who charges $148+ for an estimate ?!?!

They came out after hours quickly. Took care of the issue I was having and gave recommendations on who to use to remove the roots from my tank inlet.

Beware of the "allowance"! Field guys are great, office girls are great.. "management" / billing guy is horrible. If you like to pay 3 times what you would somewhere else, then this is the place!
It seems easier to use a company that does excavating, plumbing and heating all together, but the reality is they will screw you on the "extras". Don't believe them if they say it is an "allowance", they will just make up a B.S. bill and say see, you are getting a deal...... I should have known better (since i had the same issue on the last house I built), but thought maybe since I have used them before and we have a business relationship they wouldn't do it again. I was wrong.

Here's the after they "fixed" the issue. Found this on Saturday morning after a Friday service call. Had to call friends to come and fix. Wasn't gonna pay for after hours service.

Called right away in the morning due to a slow drain in my basement. Their scheduler apparently wasn't in at the time, so they said they would call back to schedule an appointment. Although it wasn't an emergency, I was kind of ticked that 4+ hours later still no call back. Ended up calling a different plumber to do the job.

Aaron did a fantastic job! My house is very old, and access to the leaking kitchen sink drainpipe in the basement wall was awkward and challenging. This job required a huge amount of problem-solving as well as great skill. I’m delighted with the result. Kudos to PPH!

Always on time, friendly / quality service and you never have to call them back after the work is complete!

I want to thank Prairie Plumbing & Heating for their prompt service today.
The office staff couldn't have been nicer. They had a technician out to my place within 2 hours.
George, their technician was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable in regards to my oil furnace problem.
He had me up & running in an hour or so.
Thank you George. You Da' man !

We just completed a large project that had all sorts of unknowns going in. The guys from Prairie (Roy, Jeremy, Aaron & Ryan you rule!) tackled everything efficiently and with great attention to detail. The care they showed was steller. We will definitely do work with them again.

Aaron installed a new hot water heater for us this morning. He was great - very professional, friendly, cleaned up after the install, and answered all of our questions. If getting a new hot water heater can be a positive experience, Aaron certainly made it so!

Prairie performed various work for our remodel and they were life savers when our furnace went out. All of our experiences went very well. When our furnace went out on a Friday night with sub-zero temps outside, Jake went above and beyond the call of duty during separate trips to the house to get parts to make sure we had heat over the weekend. These guys are awesome!

We recently moved into a new home and our water heater started leaking. We have a UHP home warranty so we called them to have this issue addressed. UHP unfortunately chose Prairie Plumbing and Heating as our contractor to install our new water heater. We set up the appointment to have the water heater fixed, and we asked the serviceman how much the water heater he was installing cost as we had absolutely no choice in which heater we got, to which he responded "I don't deal with the numbers." UHP covers the first $1,000 of the new heater and we are responsible for the rest. When we got our bill from Prairie Plumbing and Heating the water heater they installed was $1,238 alone, which is absolutely outrageous for the water heater itself. I think what is most disappointing about this experience overall is their absolute lack of interest in customer satisfaction. When I called to ask about why I was given such an expensive water heater they didn't so much as offer an apology, stating they told us it would be between $1700-$1800 (which they most certainly did not) and when I said I was contacting the better business bureau their response was "OK." Be wary when using this company and be sure you insist on knowing the costs beforehand!

Working with Prairie Plumbing and Heating was a disappointment at every step of our septic project:
    - Perc test: didn't test where I asked and falsely blamed my wife when I asked why. I was very clear that I didn't want it too far out but I was reassured they wouldn't do that.
    - Gave a rough estimate that they had no intention of keeping, even though they knew exactly what the site looked like and what the project entailed. Project went over budget, not because of any unforeseen problems, just because they didn't plan properly.
    - Charged $500 for 20 minutes of work to mow some weeds, without my approval, nor my knowledge that they were a problem. I could have taken care of it in a couple hours.
    - Placed the septic exactly how I told them not to: way out in the field, not where they drew it, actually crossed a property line that was marked (they mowed over the markers when they mowed the weeds), and didn't tuck it into the hillside nicely like they promised.
    - Purchased topsoil without my consent when I already had a pile of topsoil specifically for the septic within 20 yards of the site.
    - When I addressed my concerns to PP&H, Merle hung up on me and threatened liens on the house. I was just looking for some acknowledgment and sincerity of some of their errors and was only met with extreme unprofessionalism.
