We are so pleased with Compass Construction's work on our complete kitchen reno. They communicated well and were under-budget. Their project leads and contractors treated our home with care and attention to detail as if it were their own.
We are so pleased with the end result, which somehow is more spacious and has more storage despite keeping the same footprint and losing some closet space. They moved the sink from an interior wall to a window that looks over our yard which a different renovation company told us would not be possible. I had been intimidated by the design phase, but Alex made it easy--she pointed us to good vendors, narrowed down the options on fixtures, etc and gave her expert opinion when we were on the fence.
10/10 Highly recommend. -
I worked with Brett and William with Compass Construction and could not be more pleased with my finished kitchen. Brett and William were very easy to work with, they understood my budget and were able to work within that, making suggestions and offering advice along the way. From start to finish, the process was smooth, I was always kept in the loop, information was passed along quickly and efficiently, and the end product is just fabulous. I could not have asked for anything better, simply a pleasure to work with. I had thought this would be such a huge undertaking, which it was - as all kitchen remodels are, but working with Compass really streamlined the process and made it a reality!

We hired Compass Construction for a multi-room project and are extremely pleased with their process. The four things we appreciate most about Compass Construction are: 1. Excellent Communication (Pre-Construction Planning, Design Consultation, Scope & Sequence, Project Schedule, and Weekly LookAhead Schedules), 2. Payment Schedule (In advance with no additional/hidden fees.), 3. Quality & Craftsmanship (Compass employees, and the various tradespeople, are kind and professional.), 4. Accessible (Project managers John and Conner were always available via phone, text, and/or in-person.) Our project is days away from completion. Everything is on track and looking wonderful. Thanks to the entire Compass Construction team for your hard work in helping to make our remodel vision come true!

We had a terrific experience working with Compass Construction. From our initial introduction meeting and then throughout the design and construction phases, the communication we received from the Compass team was outstanding. We received multiple bids for our basement project and Compass provided the most comprehensive, transparent, and competitive bid. Our biggest concern in adding both an exercise room and an arcade room to our basement was that the finished product would not look integrated into the rest of the home. With the Compass team's design recommendations and expert craftsmanship, not only are these rooms consistent with the build quality of the rest of our home, these are now our two favorite rooms in the house. We could not be more pleased with our experience with Compass and give them our highest recommendation.

Working with Compass Construction and Remodeling Company was a very satisfying experience matched with my complete satisfaction of my remodeling project. Compass Construction was very thorough with an outlined project strategy, interior design, scope of work, and cost estimates. This allowed me to understand all construction phases including time tables and any needed adjustments that occurred during construction.
Communication with all Compass Construction team members was excellent! I had open access to all Compass people. I never was inhibited to make contact or discuss any issues. Special shot out to the field workers who were respectfully thoughtful while working in my home.
I happily live with my completed remodeling project and highly recommend Compass Construction and Remodeling. Aimee -
So much wow! Virtue Coffee & Valor Wine in South MKE has been brought to life. Compass has been with me the entire time from making a complete and thorough scope of work that was perfect for the SBA loan and the City. They helped turn this old martial arts studio into a coffee/wine bar of my dreams. Many aspects turned out even better than I expected, like bringing back the 100+ year old tin ceiling to its original glory and coordinating with the muralist for the side of the building. From the outside patio engineering to the detailed finishes inside, I appreciated having team members that showed up on time, and the ones that have come back out to fix a few small things that arose even after construction was completed. They made dealing with the inspector easier and worked with me when more than a few unexpected issues came up in this old building. They came up with creative solutions to install booth seating from a 1930s ballroom, and moved mountains to see my creative vision through. They have seen it all, and I am so glad to have had an experienced group work on my building!

It was excellent working with Compass. My project came out fantastic. I have had many, many compliments from others. The quality of their work is excellent. (The remodeled part of my home stayed dry during the recent flooding.). And I felt like the construction workers cared that the little details were as important as the bigger parts.
The only issue I had was near the end when communication broke down a bit between what was projected to be done and what actually happened. It wasn’t a significant enough of a delay to make a complaint about, but enough that I noticed.
All in all, the project went very well and we are enjoying the new spaces. -
We hired Compass MKE to install hardwood floors, move a doorway into the office, and some drywalling & finishing. They were quick in coordinating the tradespeople and made sure their work was aligned with our vision & budget. The work is high quality and we had confidence with them. The project took a little longer to complete than expected.

Compass just finished renovating the main bathroom in our home. We are satisfied with how it turned out and most of our interactions throughout the process with the workers in our home were positive. However, my husband and I agree that we would neither hire Compass again nor recommend them to any friends/family. We planned our remodel with Compass 5 months before demolition to mitigate any procurement or scheduling issues. Although there were no surprises within our walls, renovating our 6.5 x 8 foot bathroom (quoted as a 6-8 week project) took over 16 weeks to complete.
Communication was inconsistent - we routinely asked for updates and for a run down of who would be in our house and when; we got a response sometimes, with accurate information sometimes. Their schedule was in a constant state of flux: some days we would expect workers and no one would show, there were other days when we received unannounced visits. After they completed the demo, we waited a full 5 weeks (with no almost no other work done) for a Compass to find a plumber for our project - something we had wrongfully assumed they had a plan for prior to demo.
Compass employees/contractors made mistakes which we (as homeowners) had to both call out to Compass and propose a solution for: taking things from our house that we asked them not to, installing a shower floor that doesn't slope/drain properly, holes punched into 2 different adjacent rooms, doing all grouting with dirty shoes on thus making the grout itself dirty, etc. The real frustration point for us was that our questions and concerns were received by our main POC William with attitude, like we were burdening him with unreasonable requests.
If you're looking for average work done on someone else's timetable - go ahead and hire Compass. If you want quality work, consistent communication, and a trusted partner to complete your home renovation cleanly & promptly - we suggest you keep looking. -
Not what we were expecting. I couldn’t begin to list all the items that were unsatisfactory but the team stopped responding to my messages. I guess our final “punch list” had too many items that still needed to be addressed to meet our level of satisfaction. The cabinets were boxed assemblies from some Chinese manufacturer. They didn’t quite fit. The deodorizers in the the tilt out garbage stopped working a couple of weeks after they were installed. The paint is already peeling. The list goes on.
We do love the tile backsplash. There just doesn’t seem to have been enough planning with all the sub contractors. Electrical box placement caused problems. Plumbing fixture placement caused cosmetic issues.
