Our home is so much cooler, quieter, and less humid thanks to the speedy work of the Green Homeowners United team! In just two days they provided extensive air sealing and insulation services, the cost of which is already paying for itself in energy savings!!! And, WOW, can we feel the difference!!!

In our 100 year old home, our basement is no longer a very expensive, super humid ice box! The duct sealing and rim joist insulation was a very low cost solution that has made SUCH a difference. We're no longer losing most of our air-conditioning (or heat in colder months) to our unfinished basement! Oh, how I wish we'd contacted GHU sooner!

Consider this: I was able to set the a/c to 76 degrees and each room in our home (even the second level!) is a very comfortable 76 degrees, even on a 90+ degree day! Prior to the home energy upgrades that GHU completed, we had to set our central air conditioning system to 74 degrees just to keep the second level of our home cooled to a not-so-comfortable 80 degrees on hot days! No one slept well, we were paying considerably to cool our home, and weren't even comfortable.

Thanks to GHU, I no longer worry that my infant will have trouble sleeping due to her room being uncomfortably warm. And, bonus, our home is SO much quieter. The attic insulation and air sealing throughout our home did wonders for noise reduction, which makes a big difference with my spouse working from home.

The folks at GHU are pure magic!!! We are so happy with this first big step towards greater efficiency! The faucet aerators, the smart plugs, the advanced weather stripping on our exterior doors---it is all so simple and affordable but so impactful!

On May 1, 2025 I had the home energy assessment. The staff was very informative and friendly. I appreciate knowing how energy efficient my home can be using this assessment.

I am SO thankful to have been connected with Green Homeowners United. I only have a couple of months of comparison, but so far, after insulating my attic (with more energy efficiency projects to go) I am using a THIRD less natural gas to warm my home. I completed the project with $0 upfront cost and now I am saving monthly both on my mortgage and on my utility bill. Combating climate change doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, it can even save you money.

The GHU team that insulated our basement this week was the most stellar group of professionals I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Contact begin with Kevin Kane, but then included Harrison Phillips who led a team of four insulation and foundation experts. Each of whom acted like a craftsman, working with extreme attention to detail. End result is a better insulated, better looking, more comfortable basement that is actually contributing to making our whole house more comfortable. Can't recommend GHB highly enough. When you add in some of the expert advice they freely offer, plus some of the extra work they do pro bono, I feel like they are definitely worth the money charged.

When I bought my first house, I was eager to power it with solar energy. I wanted to install solar panels on the roof to produce my own electricity so I didn’t have to rely on fossil fueled utility companies (and to do my part cutting carbon emissions). But there is a lot more to it than just slapping a few panels on the roof. The house needed to be as energy efficient as possible first – to cut down the amount of energy I would need to produce from the panels. Once a reduced energy consumption level is obtained, the size (and cost) of the needed solar panels be calculated.
That is where Kevin Kane and the people with Green Homeowners United came in. They did an awesome job. They thoroughly educated me on what I could do to make my home as energy efficient as possible. They gave me a list of energy upgrade options I could choose from and how much they would cost and how much energy I could save. And when the time came for them to install them, they were able to come in and do the work quickly and efficiently. They helped me with the home refinancing to pay for the upgrades with no upfront costs from me. Because of their assistance, I not only pay less on my mortgage payments each month (reduced interest rate on my mortgage), I also have a reduced heating bill and I pay no electrical bill most months. I am saving a lot of money and helping the environment. It is a WIN-WIN for all involved! They will not do any improvements unless they are sure that when they are finished, you will be paying less then you were before they started! And in my instance, a LOT less. I don’t know of any other business that does that. Highly highly recommend these guys (and gals).

We loved working with Green Homeowners United to make our old home more energy efficient and reduce its carbon footprint -- ultimately saving us money. A smart and respectful GHU professional examined our house in detail to create a clear, thorough report, then GHU's chief economist met with us via Zoom to go over all findings while answering questions and giving us guidance on next steps. When I was told that Green Homeowners United was making it possible to make my home more energy efficient and to reduce its carbon footprint, I immediately signed up. I had been interested in the possibility of solar energy for my home for many years but had not known where to begin. Kevin Kane from Green Homeowners United directed me through the entire process, and it was very easy. He introduced me to a mortgage provider so that I could refinance my mortgage plus the costs of all of the energy improvements at a much lower interest rate and with lower monthly payments. At closing I received a check to pay for the entire costs of in home improvements and the installation of solar panels. Kevin did an energy assessment of my home and brought in a team to make it more efficient. He also recommended a solar energy company which provided a thorough evaluation and a financial analysis for my consideration. I live on a wooded lot and did not want to cut down any trees, and of course the panels will be covered with snow part of the year, but I decided that anything I could do to reduce my consumption of fossil fuels was a win for me and the environment. The panels have been up for less than a month so I have not seen a utility bill yet, but I love watching the app provided which shows how much energy the panels are producing in real time. I highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to increase the energy efficiency of their home and reduce their usage of fossil fuels. You will have excellent support, lower energy bills and a lower monthly mortgage payment.

Working with Kevin Kane and Green Home Owners United LLC on our energy efficiency home improvements was an extremely positive experience. The communication, education, and support provided throughout the process was excellent, and we are not only very happy with the impact the improvements are already making (both for our bills and the environment), but with how Kevin worked with us to find solutions that matched not only our needs but our values.
