I’ve used Hemphill Plumbing for almost 10 years! They’ve worked on both houses I’ve owned in Birmingham. They’ve done big jobs and small jobs for me. I also use their heating and air services. They are very communicative and always do great work. The one time I hired another plumber I regretted it!

On a Sunday we had pipes leaking into the basement and toilets overflowing. Hemphill offered their advice, took the time to explain options, was up front with pricing. When they came out they were on time, communicative and professional. They came back out the very next day to finish up the work without tacking on extra charges. I will absolutely reach out to them again for plumbing needs!

Very responsive, informed of an arrival delay due to a complication on a previous job and then showed up when they said. Explained the issue and did the repair quickly to our tankless hot water heater.

The guys at Hemphill were so amazing! They were on time, super professional, quickly diagnosed our issue, was very thorough with what was needed and how they would correct the problems, and was in and out in less than an hour. Will definitely use them again if needed!!

Adam was awesome-diagnosed the problem and got it resolved immediately! Very personable and professional and knew what he was doing-showed me my damaged faucet stem and explained in laymen terms so I could understand why my faucet was doing what it did! Recommend this company to everyone!

I've used Hemphill a number of times over several years. Adam fix a problem 3 other plumbers failed on. They have relit my water heater and installed a new bathroom,
including shower,, commode,, fancy tub and lavatories. They always do a good job.

In property management time is of the essence and every time I’ve contacted Hemphill I not only get a response but a quick one at that. I’m not a plumbing or HVAC expert and they’ve always been willing and able to help me understand the situation since I often have to relay the information. I’m so glad to have them as a dependable vendor. I have recommended them many times and will continue to do so.

My rental unit downtown abruptly went out late Saturday evening during mostly recent heat wave. I was notified by my tenant following morning , who had escaped a miserably hot evening by going to a hotel. I immediately contacted Hemphill via after hours service representative who took the details of my service request, and confirmed I would be contacted upon opening following morning.
At 8:15 I was contacted by Hemphill Servuce manager, who courteously provided me with an appointment one hour later.
I met technician on time at the unit, who was courteous and efficient. After examining condenser and air handler thiroughy, determined problem and repaired it. By mid morning the unit was cool again and tennant ( and owner) very pleased

Hemphill Services has replaced a Unit for me, added an external dryer vent, serviced my HVAC and given advice on a difficult plumbing situation. I have known the family for many years and can say they are honest, dependable and fair!

Hands down the best Plumbing and HVAC company in Jefferson, St. Clair, and Shelby County. I have used them to install new HVAC systems, routine maintenance, and plumbing repairs. They are available 24 hours a day and are super responsive.

Sewage was backing up in the bath tub and we immediately called Hemphill. They came out promptly and fixed the problem. We will absolutely call them for all of our plumbing needs in the future. It is wonderful to know that we now have a reliable, honest plumber.

It was easy to schedule a time because Andrew seemed truly concerned that they help us quickly. We told him it wasn’t urgent but he said they don’t want us to wait. Our plumber, Jamel, diagnosed the problem immediately and explained the cost. He worked quickly and could not have been more kind nor more professional. They were both super to work with.

This is the third time I have used Hemphill services for various reasons - mostly emergencies!! They have always done an outstanding job. I had an emergency and called them in the middle of the night for a leak in my main waterline. They were very courteous and very professional, despite the ungodly hours. They don’t give you the runaround like some companies do. When they say they are going to fix your problem, they get it done in a timely fashion. They had my leak fixed in no time and my water restored to the house.

Installed new Trane air conditioner. Michael Webb , technician, proved to be a knowledgeable, efficient and professional company representative. He arrived on time, explained my options and provided the info I needed to arrive at a proper decision . Explained what he would do and delivered a wonderful product and service. I would definitely recommend Hemphill Services .

Hemphill was great. We had a shower that wouldn’t turn off. I called Hemphill and they sent someone out that morning. The service technicians were able to identify the problem quickly and get it resolved. I definitely recommend using them.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with the team from Hemphill. They were so easy to work with! Unlike many other companies, they sold me what I needed for my home rather than trying to sell me with more just so they could turn a bigger profit. After talking with several companies their upfront/no sales pitch approach was very refreshing. Thanks to Hemphill, I have an awesome new TRANE heating and air system and AO Smith gas water heater. I got great service, equipment,, and value from Hemphill.

Hunter and his team did a terrific job with the install. They were efficient and made sure I felt good about things each step of the way. Hunter went above and beyond to help me get everything set up on the WiFi thermostat. I even got a visit from Chad, Vice-President, to see that the project was coming together. Based on my experience, you will have a hard time finding a company, with better service and value.

After calling 6 different companies to install my gas wall oven, Hemphill was the only company to respond. They did excellent work and the price was very reasonable. A very professional company I would recommend any time.

Called a tech to address.a leak. Tech found an issue with the pipes and had to cut the tile to replace them with brand new ones which was unexpected but fine. My complaint is with the bill. We were overcharged $200 and only caught it when reviewing the itemized receipt and doing the math ourselves. They handled it once we brought it up, but it bothers me that if we hadn't looked at the bill we would have just overpaid. On top of that, $160 a hour seems unreasonable. Most places will do a plumbing job for less than $100 an hour. The leak was small and we ended up paying ~$650 for the whole thing. Good work but will likely go with someone else next time.

Hemphill was at my home within 2 hours of calling. Super nice young men took care of 2 drain issues quickly. Overall...fast, professional and well priced! Will definitely call again for any issue.

These guys went above and beyond. I would give them 10 stars if I could. We had another company service our old furnace and they drug their feet, put bandaids on it, and finally said it needed to be replaced, after I paid several fees for them to fix it. So I had Hemphill come out and give me a quote on replacing the furnace. They gave me a quote Thursday evening and I had a new unit installed less than 24 hours later. Their pricing was more than fair so I had them replace my 30 year old AC unit while they were at it. Their staff couldn’t have been nicer! I highly recommend Hemphill to anyone looking for HVAC service.
