It was sad to have our tree cut down, but a recent storm partially uprooted, blew over our tree and another storm would only mean that the tree would end up on the house. Heartwood was recommended to us by my brother-in-law who owns a tree care business in Northern Arizona. Heartwood was very responsive and were able to squeeze us in with short notice. When they showed up they were very professional, took extra care to ensure safety was the top priority and were very meticulous on how they cut down the tree. After the job was complete, they took the time to clean up the area and have a conversation with us on tree recommendations for a replacement tree. I was impressed and would highly recommend Heartwood Tree Care.

Dakota, who initially provided our bid, impressed us with his friendly demeanor, professionalism, and extensive knowledge. When it came to the actual tree trimming, Kelly took charge, offering not only a friendly approach but also an educational one. We have been using Heartwood’s services since 2017. Our very first point of contact was the owner, Howard, who is friendly, professional, and is passionate about his profession. In more recent years we’ve met the rest of his staff and they have also been great! We feel fortunate that our trees have been taken care of and continue to thrive - all thanks to Heartwood!

The team at Heartwood Tree Care provided a great experience, from setting up the free estimate , working within my schedule and executing the work to provide healthy safe trees in our yard. The process was simple and painless and the work done by the field crew was expertly completed with great care and the site was very clean when they finished.

I love my ash trees, so I did a lot of research before choosing Heartwood Tree Care. They did an amazing job with my 3 ash trees. They were easy to communicate with and they came out quickly to look at the trees
and give me an estimate. They were very knowledgeable and explained their plan of action and how they were going to trim and prune the trees.
Kelly worked hard and diligently in the summer heat and cleaned up, as well. He also advised me on tree care for the extreme summer temperatures. He even remembered to close the back gate when he left which is always a big thing with me because I have dogs. I will call this company again whenever I need tree service. I had a great experience with Heartwood! Howard and Randy both provided an assessment and estimates, they were both clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I had a tree removed, soil conditioned and a few trees trimmed. Will and his crew did a great job, they were early and fast! They left my backyard cleaner than when they got there. I’ll be using them again and would recommend to anyone!

Heartwood’s Jesus and Crew 2 just finished up a two day job trimming and cleaning up our 4 ficus trees. They also cut down one of the ficus trees that was dying and stumped it. They were absolutely outstanding! First of all, they were timely and very efficient. Their friendliness and professionalism was very well noted. The crew leader, Jesus, was very polite and great to work with. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing Tree Service.

Had another great experience working with Heartwood on a project to remove some oleanders at my home. Randy did an excellent job assembling the bid. Brittani did a great job of communicating project related news. Day of the job, Randy and Casey arrived on time, did a fantastic job with the removal and left the site clean as a whistle. This was the second time I've used Heartwood and I'm very satisfied with the outcome. If you need to remove some trees, make Heartwood your first call.

We have used Heartwood over the past years for numerous services. They are on time, do a thorough job, clean up my whole yard, are friendly and on time. Years ago they cut down our massive beloved pine tree that was dying. They were not only professional but it was fun to watch how the crew worked together and they truly enjoyed their work. Over the years all my friends and family have used Heartwood for their tree needs. We will never use anyone else.

100% recommend you use Heartwood Tree Care for any and all tree needs. From the very start, removing an aggressive growing tree to buying and planting our 6 new ones, all staff has been wonderful. First Brittani is amazing and responds quickly every single time - always so helpful. Dakota was amazing and so knowledgeable. He helped with recommendations on root grinding vs tree removal. Then when we were ready to plant came back out and gave ideas on new ones to plant. Kelly is so great with removal and planting, while explaining how to care for the new plants. He even cut our quote down for removal after finding the job wasn’t as extensive as first thought - so very honest! After new plants were in we had a shrub that had some shock from the initial planting. Emailed with some pictures and the same week Kelly came out and added extra nutrients to ensure it would be ok. I will not hesitate to use this fine company again and will recommend to anyone with yard landscape needs. You don’t find this type of honest, quick responding, helpful, dedicated company these days. Would give 10 stars if I could!!

We have used Heartwood the last couple of times when we needed our trees trimmed. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They have done outstanding work to ensure our trees back properly to facilitate future growth. The crew were respectful of our property and the other plants around the trees. We used Heartwood to remove our sissoo trees and could not be happier. They were quick, clean, and professional — honestly, it’s like the trees were never even there.

So far, we’ve had no sprouts, but they were very clear that if any do pop up, they’re happy to come back out and take care of it. That peace of mind means a lot with sissoos.

Great service from Heartwood Tree Care! We had several trees trimmed of their deadwood, had them shaped and pruned back from our neighbor’s property. They were very careful to not give too tight of a haircut, yet still made a noticeable difference. Nice people to deal with-from the office to the tree trimmers. We’ll use them again!

Shade trees are prized in Arizona. We have been using Heartwood Tree Care for several years now after referral from another tree-loving neighbor. Heartwood's estimators clearly know a lot about trees and recommend trimming that is best for the trees, not just a convenient height for a bucket truck. The field crews use safety gear and climb way up near the top of the trees, thinning and trimming heavy limbs so the trees are structurally solid and beautiful. All debris are cleaned up promptly. In October 2025, Crew 2 trimmed 5 large trees and took down a dead citrus tree. They did a great job for us.

This is the kind of company I like doing business with. We did have some issues with the service, but I got a call directly from the owner Howard himself to address and correct all isues. I really appreciate that because let's be honest, even the best of companies can have issues and difficulties and it's how they address those that sets good companies (Like Heartwood) apart from the bad (like Audi, another story altogether). So thank you Mr. Howard for your professional care and attention.

Heartwood Tree Care is the BEST tree service out there. We recently had to remove two 80'+ Aleppo pines. Heartwood did an incredible job, fast, efficient, totally professional, and they left our yard and street immaculate. I recommend them without hesitation!

I can’t say enough positive things about Heartwood Tree Care. From the beginning with Randy coming to see the work I wanted done to the end when the guys totally cleaned up after giving my mesquite tree a much needed pruning.
Randy came out, listened to me about what I wanted done and offered suggestions. He made detailed notes and read them back to me. The morning that the guys came to do the work, Howard started by going over Randy’s clear and concise notes with me. He asked me if I had questions. The job turned out better than I expected! Plus, everything was cleaned up afterward.
I’ve been recommending Heartwood to others for years. I’ll continue to do so and they’ll be coming to my house yearly.

From the interaction with Randy for the estimate for my tree trimming project, questions for Brittany in the office and Will with the tree trimming crew, and the guys on the crew, everyone was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. They did an amazing job cleaning my yard after the work. I think it is actually cleaner now than when they started. I also received advice of care for one of my mesquite trees that have been struggling for years. I highly recommend this company and I will definitely use them again. Great experience start to finish. We needed a medium tree removed and its stump grinded as well as a large ficus trimmed. The person I spoke to on the phone was so kind. Randy, who came out to do the estimate answered my many questions thoroughly and respectfully. Will and his crew who did the work were professional and quick. They cleaned up really well after and again, answered my questions. The prices might be more than other places but you are paying for high quality work and high quality customer service start to finish. Worth it!

On time and did a remarkable job trimming an overgrown Meyer lemon tree (18 years old) that looked like a bush into a lovely, picture perfect Lemon tree. Of course, I would definitely hire them again!
