I hate that I have to bring this to social media, but I feel I have no choice after giving Addison, the owner of M & A Landscaping, countless chances to fulfill his promises. I’ve been a loyal client for over a year, but this recent experience has left me beyond frustrated and disappointed.

On December 23rd, I paid Addison $665: $600 as a deposit for starting my backyard project and $65 for completing landscaping in my front yard. Despite repeated assurances, communication from him has been sporadic at best. I’ve been patient and understanding, even when he cited personal reasons like being sick. However, Addison promised to complete the job multiple times—including an appointment for Sunday morning at 9 AM—and has failed to follow through every single time.

To date:
• No work has been started.
• No materials have been delivered.
• No receipts or proof of purchase have been provided.

What’s worse is that he has asked for an additional $400 without showing any progress on the job. I’ve refused to send more money until there’s evidence of work being done, which I think is more than fair. I’ve even gone so far as to involve other contractors he referred me to, but the lack of communication persists.

I am a hardworking woman who hired Addison in phases to have my backyard completed before my daughter’s senior graduation. I feel bamboozled and disrespected after trusting this company with my hard-earned money. As a business owner, communication and integrity are key, and I’ve seen neither here.

If anyone has advice on how I can retrieve the $850 I’ve already sent him or pursue further action, I’d greatly appreciate it. I don’t take lightly the decision to post this, but after being ignored repeatedly, I need to hold M & A Landscaping accountable.

Let this serve as a warning to others. I’ve attached screenshots below to provide full transparency.

I was super thrilled this company is a one stop shop and they can do it all from drip system repair. Tall palm tree trimming. Weeding, and weed prevention. They were quick and efficient. Addison offered me the most reasonable price for weed removal and pre-emergent spray and he did it all the same day he said he would. Just what I needed!

Addison is great! He gave me a really great reasonable quote and got me on his schedule quickly. Him and another guy did the job in just over a hour and the results are amazing! We highly recommend!

Addison came out to my home the next I made contact with him and gave me a very reasonable quote for tree trimming and weed removal services. He was honest upfront about cost and time required for the job. He was very professional, reliable and accommodating on date and time because I couldn’t be home at to time of service. His crew worked diligently and efficiently. I appreciate he was kind enough to shut my side gate afterwords because it made it easier for my fiancée when she got home to let out our puppy. I would full heartedly endorse the high level of quality work Addison and his team did.

Squared Away Landscaping is a great company to work with. Robert (owner) is a man of his word and goes above and beyond to take care of his customers. Pricing is very reasonable and would recommend him to anyone. A+!!!

Is crew knows how to get it done

Last update (July 17th 2022): Before the 2nd service (keep in mind first time was already a nightmare), Sergio asked if he could change it temporarily from Saturday to Sunday and I told him it was fine. A few days before the service I text and confirmed he would be out on Sunday and he said yes. Today is Sunday and we left doggy door shut for him most of the day and never heard from him. I text him 3x and no answer. It's now 6:23 pm and still nothing. No response to texts no phone call and no show. Very very unprofessional and unreliable. If you choose to risk it and hire them, I'd suggest you don't pay till AFTER all work has been done and just count on him not doing what he says he's going to.

Update: After talking to Sergio he agree to come out 2 days later to do the original work so I updated from 1 star to 3. He is supposed to do bi-weekly maintenance and show up again on Sunday July 16th. If he shows and does good work, I will continue to update this.

On May 10th I scheduled with Freedom landscape 1.5 months in advance to do a clean up (scheduled for 6/30) and start biweekly maintenance. Was told by Freedom they were transferring all their maintenance to Sergio with Saguaro Landscape and Design, I contacted Sergio and confirmed he was still coming out on 6/30, he agreed. Text Sergio on morning of 6/30 to find out how he accepted payment, he said zelle. Then 2 hours later I get the following text "Hi good morning, I didn't realize that today was the 30th we are closed from today till Tuesday we are going over the client's and organizing everything. You will get a text message with you new appointment date sometime this week". I'm sorry but cancelling on the day of when it was scheduled 1.5 months in advance and even confirmed is beyond unprofessional and not only does it say a lot about Saguaro Landscape but also Freedom landscape since this is who they chose to give their customers to.
